I once saw Matt Oakley smoking in O'Neill's (now the White Star) in Oxford Street. I guess the likes of him and Claus were from the last generation of players where smoking was deemed to be in any way tolerable.

I have recently had a replacement BT Homehub 3 installed. Once installed, I found that although all other WiFi devices connected, my Sony Xperia U phone would not. After a bit of Googling, I discovered that this was due to the fact that the new Homehub WiFi security was set to WPA which was 'too secure' to allow my phone to connect. The solution was to reset the router to WEP security, which I have done and now all my devices, including my phone connect to the router with no problems. Although pleased that I've now got everything working, I'm a bit concerned that a lot of websites and forums advise against using WEP as it is an outdated security protocol and is easy to hack. Can anyone more clued up than me advise whether I am exposing myself to any significant risk by using WEP and if so, is there an alternative solution that gives secure WiFi AND connectivity with all of my deviices including my phone?

My 6 yr old is doing a Saints Foundation footy course next week. Has anyone got kids that have done one of these? Although he enjoys playing, my lad isn't massively into football and I'm a bit concerned that a week of six hour days might test his enthusiasm a bit. The leaflet doesn't really give much detail of what the course covers, so I just wondered if anyone can shed any light?

I have just been into the Saints shop in West Quay to buy a small gift and was greeted with the new kit, virtually wall to wall. This was the first opportunity I've had to see it properly. I don't like to be over dramatic about things, but it really is absolutely dreadful. Even allowing for the fact that I'm firmly in the red/white stripes+black shorts camp, it's beyond my worst expectations. Last year's effort at least looked OK, even if it wasn't in keeping with tradition. The gaudy gold is just embarassing.

I think I'm correct in saying that the 7-1 defeat in the second leg was the first game that Keegan didn't play in that season, as he was injured, leading to 'one man team' accusations. Even our goal was an OG I think.

I have a tablet running the Android ICS operating system. I used to watch a lot of stuff on Channel 4's 4OD catch up service, but since Flash Player disappeared from the Google Play store, 4OD hasn't worked. The thing I don't get is that I already have Flash installed on my tablet, so why won't 4OD work anymore? From what I can gather, although Adobe have withdrawn support for Flash, existing versions should still function. Does anyone know of a workaround that will enable me to watch 4OD on my tablet? Thanks for any ideas and Merry Christmas.

Not very good in my opinion. Obviously not as bad as our first Ted Bates effort, but the likeness is nowhere near as good as our replacement Ted Bates one. Considering that it's likely to revolutionise TV in the UK, particularly for those of us not interested in paying for Sky, I'm quite surprised by how few people seem to have heard of YouView. YouView is a project backed by BBC, ITV, Ch4, BT amonst others, that has been in the pipeline for a few years now and is finally due to launch in the Autumn. In a nutshell, it's the next generation of Freeview box, difference being that it is linked to your broadband, giving you instant access to catch-up TV services, via a backwards accessible program guide. You can also get other paid for and free TV services via the box, which will cost about £200, with no subscription cost (unless you choose the extra services like LoveFilm, Netflix etc). OP here. Perhaps I should mention that I have in fact used my brother-in-law's ipad. One size rarely fits all. If someone gave me a Porsche, I'd sell it immediately as my Nissan does exactly what I need it to.

I’m looking for some advice on buying a Tablet PC for my wife’s birthday. I don’t own a Smart phone so am not familiar with the world of Apps etc. The main thing that she wants the tablet for is to watch BBC iPlayer/ITV Player/4OD. Doesn’t internet access gives you access to all of the catch up TV channels though? Why do you need a specific App? (this is probably a daft question - sorry) Grateful for any advice.

I see that the papers today are saying that Joey Barton faces a ban of 'up to' 9 games for his antics yesterday. By my reckoning, he displayed 3 separate instances of violent conduct: Elbow to Tevez, attack on Aguero and attempted head butt on Kompany. Unless the Premier league are running some sort of 'commit one offence, get two free' offer, surely his ban will be a bare minimum of10 games? 3 for each incident and one for it being his second red of the season. Throw in his continued aggressiveness when leaving the pitch and a disrepute charge for his subsequent idiotic Twitter comments and I think he'll be laughing if he only gets 9 games.

I'm certainly no expert, but just a suggestion, as this was the problem for me a week or so ago: Right click the small Wireless icon at the bottom of the screen (the one that tells you the signal strength). Click 'view available wireless networks'. Click 'change advance settings'. Click the 'Wireless networks' tab and make sure that the 'use windows to configure my wireless network settings' box is TICKED.

Brilliant! I'd tried prising with a screwdriver with no luck, but thanks to your advise Fowllyd, I managed to screw it off with an adjustable spanner and a bit of cloth. I need to change the washer on our bathroom sink tap. I'm no DIYer but I can usually manage this job. Cross head taps normally have a bit on the top that you prise off to get to the screw, but there isn't such a bit on this tap, and no obvious other way of getting inside it. I feel a bit daft resorting to this, but any advice gratefully received.

Had a week just outside Southwold this half-term just gone. A nice part of the world. I agree with others, Southwold and Woodbridge are nice. Ipswich hasn't got much to recommend it, but if you (or your wife) are into shopping then it's the place to head for. The thing that struck me most about Suffolk is how clear the roads are - perhaps we just got lucky? Oh, and the brewery shop at Southwold does small kegs of Adnam's Broadside for about 15 quid. Lovely 6%+ beer.
