Scant mention in the obituaries of the Invisible Man, in which he starred. I loved that program as a kid.

IF we pull the plug on Martin, I hope we do something radical like appoint someone with plenty of managerial experience. Young and enthusiastic don't seem to be attributes that have served our purpose over the last three appointments. Hate to say it, but I can think of a very experienced, rather rotund person who would stop the defensive rot and get us winning ugly....

He was a huge TV star in the 70s. I remember he once did a sketch impersonating Lawrie McMenemy. He then seemed to just completely disappear in the 80s.

It's very beneficial for him if he signs a new 3 year deal and then gets an ACL injury in training the next day.

The UN chief is saying we have reached the era of 'global boiling' and called for redoubling of efforts to phase out fossil fuels. However, it appears that the most inconvenient of all inconvenient truths is that changing the global food system should be the real priority. It seems that all fossil fuel use could stop dead tomorrow and we still would not achieve the 1.5 degree limit, due to what we eat and how we produce it. https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.aba7357

I occasionally flick over for the comedy value. Everything about it just feels a bit grubby. I can't help wondering whether some of the presenters know that it's a joke of a channel, but just go with the flow for the pay check.

His death 30years ago has to throw some doubt on this.

Here's Matt expanding on his theory. One piece of 'evidence' he cites is 'people getting their bank accounts suspended'. This is no doubt a reference to Nigel Farage's bank account woes, ignoring the fact that it was very quickly established that far from being deep state interference, Farage simply didn't have enough money to maintain the account in question.

Exactly! This new guy will surely be a nightmare.

Looks like we are about to appoint a new manager who is vegan. This is surely terrible news according to some on here? Obviously he will never stop telling everyone in press conferences and interviews about his diet, he'll be off sick all the time and when he does show up, he'll be too weak and feeble to take a training session?

A lot of bass players offer little by way of creativity and just do a job that any other competent player could do, but listen to something like Cemetery Gates and the bass is pretty much the lead instrument.

I'm not the first to point this out, but those who go along with the cult-like oath will also be swearing alligence to the Kings heirs. This includes Prince Andrew....

Strange but absolutely true: Walking back towards the Itchen Bridge after the game, I noticed that Chris Houghton was walking beside me. He took a turn off towards one of the match day car parks. 100% definitely him. Probably on a scouting trip for some League 1 club looking at our shit players, but I thought I'd give the rumour mill a stir.

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.
Golactico replied to CB Fry's topic in The Lounge
Just watching Kay Burnley take a position way up on the moral high ground throughout a grilling of a Johnson apologist. You'd never guess that she herself was suspended from Sky for 6 months for.......breaking COVID rules. -

He literally read the rules out to us live on television, but apparently he needed to rely on someone else's interpretation of whether he was breaking them. -

So, Johnson accepts that he did mislead the House of Commons, but says he didn't do so deliberately. There were always only two potential conclusions to draw out of all this; he was either a liar, or he was stupid (to not realise that the No.10 gatherings broke his own rules). So, we now know that he is pleading stupidity. -

So, the recent census results show that the majority of people in the UK no longer identify as Christian. Seems to confirm that most people are just observing a cultural/historical tradition at this time of year after all, rather than marking the (very unlikely) date of birth of a man with magic powers whose mother was a virgin.

It would be hard to construct a serious argument for 'needing' to become a vegan from a nutritional perspective. The argument for an omnivorous diet being a nutritional necessity is equally flawed. However, nutrition is just one (and the least popular one according to the stats referenced earlier) of the three main reasons that people adopt an animal-free diet. Ethics and the environment are the main drivers. As Pollan says himself: 'I have the ultimate respect for vegetarians and vegans. For they have actually done the work of thinking through the consequences of their eating decisions, something most of the rest of us have not done.'

Dyche for me. People need to get real - we are Saints. Premiership survival is success. The odd big club scalp and the occasional flirtation with the higher end of the table is a bonus. Dyche is a good bet to deliver all of this.

How do I remove my contacts from daughters android phone?
Golactico replied to Golactico's topic in Technology Chat
Thanks very much for your quick and knowledgeable reply. Sorry to be thick, but does part 1 apply to my phone and part 2 to my daughter's? -
I've just given my 10yr old one of my old Android phones. No SIM card, she just wants to download a few games for car journeys. I set the phone up using my Google account (Google have an age restriction of 13 for accounts) but although she can't accidentally call anyone without a SIM card, I'm not keen on all my contacts being on this phone. Any Ideas how I can remove them from this phone only?- I obviously don't want to delete them completely. Cheers
