Don't think it came across that I was having a go? Ultimately, I agree that we need another high quality forward to see us progress. But only for the reasons I have stated....he is now 31 and and after 4 years, we still can't win games without him. You are coming from a different angle in that his lack of mobility doesn't suit the high press style of play. This is a fair opinion but not one which I think MP will necessarily share. I think it comes across that he highly rates Rickie and see's him as pivotal player at the club. Where we have used the high press well and got results, Rickie has been there. Personally, I want another quality goalscorer at the club so that if Rickie can't or doesn't play, it doesn't feel that we are way more likely to lose which is the case at the moment.

He's not being bigoted mate, he's not saying there is anything evil about being a cabbie, just that they are so widely accepted now that no cure will ever be found for them.

Yea I know, don't think defect is the right word to describe baldness, a fair proportion of men will go bald during their lifetime just like there are a fair amount of gay people in the world.

No, both genetic make-up.

Just genetic make-up, not a defect.

So anytime anyone has sex without the intention of reproducing is displaying weird and unatural behaviour?

The only consistent thing about discussions on homosexuality is that it becomes very apparent that homophobes are always the ones who seem to spend a lot of time thinking about where other men are sticking their junk and get very worked up about it. i always wonder why....

Even Les Reed would know he's a championship player
-
Or rather that he is 31 and we have been reliant on him for 4 seasons in a row now?

You actually correct people's mistakes when you quote them?

The club don't care about transfers mate, they are too difficult and Cortese and co have had enough. They have thrown the towl in after a few lazy attempts at signing players they knew they would never get.

When he started against Utd and City, pundits were commenting on his composure and competence for such a young age at such a high level. Give him time to develop and he will be quality, I'm fairly sure at that. Looking at some of the things he does in training, he is a very technically gifted player.

He's miss timed his jump there, the ball is going past him and the striker is going to run on to it and score. A sign of things to come this season?

You can start one if you don't like it mate. Have a go instead of moaning.

As it stands, do we have a better midfield than Utd?

I just nipped outside and asked 10 people mate. Morgan won 6:4 and I'm not in Southampton! -

Even Utd have players who do make mistakes though or have certain weaknesses in their game. Generally margins in football are quite fine and having consistent world class performers in key positions makes all the difference. The players who do make mistakes at Utd or just not quite up to standard (yet and compared to precessors) are the likes of Cleverly, Nani, Welbeck, Anderson, Rafael... These players could easily be upper mid table players if they were to ever leave Utd. -
Can expect a better quality of post from you as the day goes on then?

Can't argue with that but add Rooney, RVP, Vidic and Ferdinand to our team, where do you think we could finish. Their World class players are the reason they are they are streets ahead, not because of the likes of Cleverly and Anderson where us and other teams have better or equal players in certain positions. -

Morgan ran the midfeld in both games against them last year, as well as against ither big sides as well. Whether or not it's better than Utd, our central Midfield is very strong. -
Smirking saint will be happy!

There are very few players who grow up dreaming about playing for Saints. English players and foreign players will both move based on financial reasons and the opportunity to play at the highest level their ability allows them to. Maybe you should ask the question to the likes of Claus, Fonte, Niemi, Monkou etc instead.

No, it doesn't seem that long ago when a 10 goal season was considered very average and certainly not worth a £6M move. After Rickie has gone, what chance do we have of signing a striker capable of scoring over 100 goals for the club without spending an insane amount of money? Assuming we stay at this level of course.
