We can't do it every week, a lot depends on the opposition and how they set up to play.

Great result! A proper solid side this season and a great platform to build from. If we become more clinical, we will have a very good season.
-
Of course not!
-
Only from a set piece though, still 0-0 in my book. Osvaldo so close!
-
Is this your new start of season mantra? Last season was "we are far too open and will be relegated". He haven't been hoofing the ball too much at all. 59% average possession of the ball so far this season.

Should MP be sacked if we don't get 3 points at Anfield?
Dig Dig replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
Yea but we should be top, played 4, won 4, 12 goals for, 0 against. -
I thought that we were trying to block his career because we hate him?
-
Another 0-0 will be another nail in MP's coffin IMO

Are you any good at sport mate?
-
So why are people moaning?
-
People were saying last season that they wished we would just focus on keeping the game tight and nicking a winner, claiming that our cavalier approach was naive and would see us lose more often than not at this level and get us relegated. 1 year on and we are doing exactly what people were asking and they still complain. Typical mongery from SWF.

If if if mate. If we had scored just 1 of our many chances yesterday, stopped Redmond from having his shot and marked the corner better against Sunderland we'd be top.
-
His poor first touch and decision making are traits of his lack of confidence. He is able to control a football and make the right choices, the key at this level is consistency. I think he's a purple patch type of player and does offer us some directness but agree with the OP that he needs some time out of the first 11 and maybe be more of an impact player in order to gain the confidence he needs. There was a moment yesterday when Osvaldo made a great run, was on the shoulder of the defender and a ball over the top would have but him through. Instead, Rodriguez just put his head down and ran. I'm sure Ramirez would have at least saw the run. I would bring him in over Rodriguez.

Bit early for talk like this don't you think? He wasn't bad yesterday, missed a few passes but we were able to deal with the physical aspect of the game better with him in the middle.
-
Fans get carried away at both ends of the spectrum. If we win a couple of our next 3-4 games, talk of Europe will re-surface again I'm sure. At the same time, we are 4 games in with 5 points on the board. We could expect a couple more points on that total but it's still stupidly early in the season and a few players have had a slightly disrupted start to the season so I am not really that concerned at the lack of goals at the moment. Keep creating chances and they will come. We are solid and hard to beat, always a good platform, and we will most likely not be looking over our shoulder too much. Still more to positive about than negative IMO.

Southampton need Gastón Ramírez to pull them together in midfield
Dig Dig replied to Toon Saint's topic in The Saints
They were physical but don't think Gaston needs to bulk up as you put it. He's bigger than Lallana, JWP and Rodriguez. -
Same thing happened to me recently. I was walking down the street and I saw this blond hair, blue eyed bloke coming towards me. As he got closer I heard what I thought was a Swedish accent so I just shouted at him "**** OFF BACK HOME YOU DIRTY ****ING SWEDE". Turned out the guy was from Norway. I've never been so embarrassed.

It's a shame that you even have to. It's bloody PC gone mad.

Yea agree mate! So I can use this all correctly, how do you tell that someone is from Pakistan? Bit worried that if I call the next brown person I meet a Paki they might not be from there? Do you ask first?

They are not twin toddlers mate, FFS

This is true. Chaplow was paid 50% of his salary in pre-stamped Costa loyalty cards.

Southampton is a cultural abyss and the night life is shocking. The fact that the opening of Nando's is the biggest thing to have happened there in the last 5 years says it all.
