  1. Well then you're talking about something which is more than just about Fox. You will hear a groan after almost any mis-placed pass or wrong decision made by any player. St Mary's in general has a lot of "experts" in stands who spent all their time moaning and complaining about something and someone.
  2. Didn't hear anyone boo any player yesterday. Just the usual groans which all players get when they lose possession.
  3. Well Dyer wasn't just going wide, when he did come inside Fox was still nowhere near him. I felt sorry for Davis, there were a few occasions where he basically had to track Dyer and Rangel by himself, JWP had to come on with the sole purpose of plugging that side. Of course all fullbacks need some form of protection but Lallana was able to get forwards and be effective, he was often the furthest forward in the first half and wasn't helping Clyne much at all. As I said, if it was all tactical and if Fox was doing the best he could do, his defensive partners wouldn't have been getting so annoyed at him.
  4. Be interesting to see if the same number of excuses are peddled out for some of our higher calibre players if they put in a performance as inept as Fox's. SteveG.... It wasn't tactical, Fox has positioned himself like that constantly and the other players wouldn't get frustrated with him if we was doing exactly what was asked of him.
  5. That settles that then. See you all next season y'all!
  6. Didn't hear any boos or anything OTT around me. Just people groaning which happens most times anyone loses the ball and a few people shouting instructions to him. Some of which he'd do well to listen to.
  7. Players don't get on the back of their team mates if they think they are doing the best they can do. He has limitations but that to say that he played to the best of his ability today and gave 100% is way off the mark.
  8. I don't condone the heckling of him at all but disagree with the number of people saying that he does the best he can do. He doesn't
  9. Don't think he does give 100% personally, hence the anger directed at him from both Fonte and Lovren today. Despite his limited ability at this level, he shows little or no desire to tackle or close down and happily leaves responsibility to the LM to cover both winger and fullback whilst he trotts off to try and hold the centre backs hand in the 18 yard box. Might at well have a cardboard cut out of a player constantly positioned very narrow in our own box. Would probaly stop a few more crosses than Fox does.
  10. Great win, 2-0 slightly flattering with stellar performances from Lallana, Boruc, Clyne and both CB, who had real handfuls with Bony and Michu. Fox a massive weak link as exploited by Swansea, all danger coming from his side. Lovren and Fonte clearly annoyed with him all game. JWP bought on with the sole intention of helping Fox. Very poor. Otherwise a great win without being at our best. Solid stuff yet again.
  11. A bit of light hearted Friday afternoon reading for the procrastinators... http://www.football365.com/faves/8955830/Media365
  12. Yep, and to top it all off we have shipped out one of our most prolific goalscorers of all time to Reading who was also a top guy and would never bring shame on our club like Osvaldo is.
  13. Sounds like your body is very subtley trying to compensate for the ankle issue which is causing the calf strains. What sort of surface are you running on?
  14. You're like an old Lion desperately trying to cling onto his pride. Your mane is mangy and your teeth are falling out. Time to step a side and leave it to the young pretenders.
  15. Don't worry too much MLG, this forum is brilliant at determining if young Left Backs are ready for the first team! http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?40864-Luke-Shaw&highlight=Shaw#.UktllJm9LTo
  16. Sounds about right
  17. No one deserves distain really, I think all our players try. Fox is however a bit of a liability IMO as he consistently fails to do the basics right at the top level.
  18. Yep, no excuse for the way it was done. It is a cut throat business which justifies the means in some way but doesn't mean you have to execute in the manner he did.
  19. It's also a confidence issue as well which won't be helped by number of people who are on his back from the off, especially when he is only getting 10-15 minute stints off the bench in the most part. When he lost the ball with his first touch on Saturday, a fair few around me where foaming at the mouth about it even though he lost it in a very non-threatening position.
  20. So you are expecting us to win most of our games then? You are talking about very fine margins anyway. We could have had a point at Norwich for example had an appalling decision not gone against us.
  21. We just set up to be defensively solid first and foremost and then know that we have good attacking players who will always be a threat. Just means that we are far harder to beat under pochettino even if the games are not as thrilling. Many people were really critical of Adkins this time last year, wishing he was less naive and able to make us tigher and not just try and out score the opposition. Now that we have this under MP, we are now too boring for some people. You can please some of the people some of the time and all that...
  22. Indeed. As an example, there would be a thread on here giving Gaston pelters if he had started on Sat and provided the same contribution as Davis who was very uninspiring and unwilling to take any risks with his build up play, mostly just passing the responsibility to someone else. No moans and groans about that though and he goes off to a standing ovation. I'm not saying that there is no room for discussion re Gaston because ultimately he is struggling to get into the first 11 but the criticism on here is way OTT IMO and was particularly frustrating is seeing people revert to lazy stereo types of him being lightweight and lacking in effort which is not the case. The pace of the prem is key thing players have to adapt to, it takes time, especially when you have the interuptions he has had.
  23. No point Olallana. He talks about his ability to debate maturely and then comes up with a reply like that.
  24. I obviously don't have access to your crystal ball so can't say what would have happened had Gaton not started the games he played last year, at least not with the complete (and arrogant) certainty as you. Based on what he did do, he was instrumental in the wins against Villa and Newcastle at home and also was very good in the home draws against Everton and Arsenal. If you think those 8 points were earn't in spite of Gastons contributions then fair enough but I wouldn't be so sure that the likes of Guly and Davis would have come in and made the same contribution. A little harsh if those that wrote him off are unable to recognise the good he has done here by simply stating that someone else would have done it instead.
