And even strikers who are fairly average now cost an absolute premium. To bring in a proven goal scorer (at the right level) now cost a fortune and are wanted by numerous clubs which is what we are up against now.

Who is to blame for the Summer of inactivity?
Dig Dig replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Saints
Now Minty and Euro are ruining the thread! We are all rubbish at the forum thing -
To be fair, I think most of us now have a more realistic of being Saints chairman than a hero player. I am dreaming Turkish and instead of pretending to be Matt Le Tiss scoring worldies whilst kicking a soccerball against the wall in my back garden, I now pretend to be doing a laid back interview with Jim White.

No one is that obsessed about the chairman mate. People like you have contributed towards the rise of the modern celebrity chairman. I bet no one was wishing Guy Askham happy birthday!

Mash has pulled your pants down pal and now we are all pointing and laughing

Other than you suggesting we sign a very average 30 year old L2 player and that your assumption that English players will have a better attachment to Saints over a foreign player (why do they need to be journeymen btw?), I don't have much of a problem with what you said.

Nothing to back him up re the club not believing Sharp is good enough for the prem? How about being loaned out to Notts Forest last season and this summer, him being left out of the squad which travelled on the pre-season tour? Big enough clues for even lunatics like you ART I would have thought?

Glad you will never get anywhere near selecting players for Saints pal. -

Seems that those who I'm sure you would class as a clapper are perfectly comfortable with where we are in the window, happy with the business we have done so far, happy with the players retained and hoping that our forward lines improves over the next 23 days or so. You're not happy for what reason exactly? It's hard to follow. -
Will this current squad propel us into Europe?

Do you mean Europa Cup, Champions League or both? -

Thanks for the questions Lazlo, sharing our vast International knowledge is what this thread is all about! Obviously, Copenhagen should always be a good bet for the title, especailly after wrestling the title back from 2011-12 unfancied champions Nordsjaelland but a rather indifferent (poor) start to the season actually see's them currently bottom of the table. However, you would expect Copenhagen to be challenging come the end of the season once more. After European qualification and a cup final, it will be interesting to see how last seasons surprise packages Randers and Esbjerg fair this time round. Newcomers Vestsjaelland and Viborg should take heart from last seasons counterparts for the season ahead but neither have particularly hit the ground running to date. I expect both to be close to relegation but Viborg would be my bet to stay up of the two. If I was a betting man, a cheeky bet on Esbjerg for the title may prove fruitful.

If he is such a good footballer and has been working so hard, why have two sets of player management deemed him not good enough? Do they hate Billy Sharp as much as those you claim on here do?

Close the forum. Just open on matchday and when there is news on the official site. It's the only way to keep the pointdexters happy.

What's worst, appreciating why some employers use flexible staffing models or assuming that all people that are working there are being exploited and are weak?

I've made excellent progress with him, he has even managed not to tweet Nixon for the last few weeks. Very proud.

This is true for a lot of brands but when you're all about selling sports socks for 20p to chavs, creating staff affinity to the brand is difficult. I care about what I do now and am well looked after by my company. When I was 16 and working at TK Maxx there wasn't a lot anyone could do to make me care about selling off season goods, especially when customers were just thieving and taking poo's in the changing rooms.

Jobs like working at Sports Direct etc are there for a certain market......kids basically and are not there to provide people with careers or provide a sustainable living. These type of jobs offer pocket money to people which typically have small outgoings given where they are in life. Targeting this market is fine but from an employers perspective, offering fixed term contracts with the normal associated benefits would be unsustainable when you consider the high turnover, sickness and general unreliability which this particular market offers. Of the 20,000 staff on zero hour contracts, the large majority will be kids, happy with their couple of hundred quid a month until they are ready to move on.
