  1. Massive step up to the prem and he's only on the fringes of the Dutch squad. If we pay anything over 5MM it would be a bit of a gamble in my opinion.
  2. There is no such thing
  3. I thought Cork did well in the middle of the park, saw a lot of the ball and didn't give it away. I did fall asleep for 20 mins though!
  4. He's clearly not a poor keeper though. If he is, he's so far managed to pull the wool over the eyes of England, fellow professionals, pundits, scouts and supposedly even the might saints. I know you try your hardest to never jump on band wagons but eventually you'll have to concede that the lad looks class
  5. Do you still think that he's on par with Forcast?
  6. It looked like they were extending the south stand and either the east or west stand, whichever is currently smallest. Didn't look like anything was happening in the corners
  7. The BBC don't even have the Gazza signing as a headline. One of the biggest signings of the summer doesn't even get a mention The BBC are leading this media vendetta against the club, I'm certain of it
  8. What do you think of the stadium? As I said, I thought it looked ****e considering the hype.
  9. Was at the Amex stadium for a work thing a couple of weeks ago. Absolute rubbish considering all the hype. Whats with the stands at either end? I've played in front of bigger at school boy level. And what the **** are those white blobs on the seats suppose to be?!! Seagulls? Looks like a seagull has taken a big **** to me.
  10. Don't think anyone is blaming Shaw. I'm not overly fussed if we sign Buttner or not. Just one of many possible explainations.
  11. Don't go crazy, he should only scrape 7th on the list IMO.
  12. Hypo and I were just agreeing on another thread that the club may try and push shaw on this season and may have contributed to us pulling out of the Buttner deal.
  13. Dell days did dismiss it and you replied immediately with "exactly". We all saw it. You can't re-write history. Well you can edit the post I suppose but even you wouldn't stoop to that...would you? But seeing at you only highly doubt it, I will concede that we are both 50% right.
  14. A better write up than Butland and I like the sound of his big strong hands.
  15. No you didn't dismiss it. You only highly doubted it. Of course there is a massive gulf in difference between the two statements. My apologies.
  16. Highly doubting something is generally a good indication that you strongly believe that it's not the case, no? Just saying that I don't doubt either scenario. Those who suggested the Shaw thing in the first place could be completely right.
  17. Well it may not have influenced anything and you may be right but that doesn't mean it's not possible either. You dismissed it outright earlier and that's the whole point of the debate.
  18. So you expect that we will be looking to sign another LB then? I don't so let's see
  19. If you're good enough you're old enough. No point spending millions on fees and wages just to have the player displaced by someone in your academy in the immediate future. That would be silly wouldn't it? And AOC only displaced Puncheon. I remember loads on here complaining about us not signing a RM only for Ox to start ripping it up the following season. Do you think it would have made a difference to AOC's chances had we spent 3MM on a right winger that summer?
  20. No one but that's the point. If he sees another young left back join the club, what would that say about his chances in the immediate future? Might as well go elsewhere on probably more money at a more glamorous club if you have the opportunity to do so....that's if you're not playing football of course.
  21. As I said, if other clubs are sniffing around, what can we offer Shaw that he wouldn't get elsewhere? The prospect of first team football over the coming season or two is about the only thing. Maybe the lad or his agent or whatever have had a word with the club about his ambitions. This could all happen in a space of a couple of weeks quite conceivably. If we haven't targeted another left back by end of the transfer window then I'd be confident that this is the case.
  22. I'd like to think that whoever we sign will do so with the intention of competing for the number 1 from day one. I honestly don't Know much about this lad but the club must be confident that he's good enough to do that. No point releasing Bart only to sign a Bart mark ll.
  23. Of course, they will know all about the lads ability regardless. Doesn't mean that there haven't been recent discussions about pushing a bit further than planned. Especially when you consider that Chelsea and others are sniffing around. If Shaw can't see a way into the side in the next 2 years than he might as well go to Chelsea.
  24. 1000 times better than Tommy Forcast and that is all that matters.
  25. I think the majority of fullbacks across the country would struggle against Lambert 1-1 at the back post. I wouldn't get hung up about it
