  1. It only proves that you believe your own point Krackers which is fair enough!
  2. We have more depth now than we did then. Sharp and Lee both better than Ormerod so don't think he would even get in the bench. And as you said, a few of our players now have so much more potential than the players we had in their prime back then. After they all left, how many of the 20003 squad ended up having sparkling premier league careers? Not many. We had a very fit, very organised side and a good manager. This helped us overachieve that season. Those players could have just as easily ended up in a relegation battle.
  3. Haha. Guly wasn't in my list ; ) (he is better though)
  4. I'd say that morgan, Lallana, Lambert, Sharp, Lee and maybe Cork would at least compete for a place in that team. We had Ormerod and Telfer for starters
  5. I wouldn't say that is necessarily true. We had some good players but also a lot of average players and WGS did brilliantly to squeeze every last drop out of it. The team which got relegated not long after still had many of the cup final team
  6. We're happy with Forecast as number 2
  7. He's a modest man so will down play it but the guy is connected up to his eyeballs. He's in a different league to Turkish/Supersonic/JustMike
  8. Davis?
  9. What about as part of a back 3? Could be an option with both Buttner and Cylne in mind
  10. He identifies signings and also picks the match day team and squad. Nigel only knows after Sibley tweets it. FACT
  11. Turkish also said he wouldnt be able to visit the mong board until this afternoon. His online bubble is gleaming bright green. Yet another inconsistency with his story.
  12. I doubt any of our fringe players will be that keen to move on so soon after getting their promotion pay rises.
  13. But CB Fry started it! I apologies to the forum for my potty mouth. P.s I've sent you a PM
  14. 1. Davis is 27 not 30 2. Davis fits into the wage structure. Defoe is on 60K + a week. Do you really think it's worth paying him upwards of that? This is his last chance for a big pay day so you can gaurentee you'd have too. 3. I don't know anything about Davis but Defoe definitely comes across as a bit of a knob. 4. It's not my criteria, it's the clubs 5. Other than Davis, nearly every player we have been consistently linked with does fit the criteria
  15. The club have said that the foundation of our transfer policy is to sign young, talented and preferably English players who also meet a defined criteria regarding attitude and personality.......and people think we would sign Jermaine Defoe? Would he be worth breaking our wage structure for? He'll be looking for his last pay day.
  16. Would be fairly obvious if it was Buttner? Would it be worth saving it for the paper with the exposure it's already had? Fourth official also saying Buttner deal close.
  17. Fair enough. Wilfred Zaha
  18. Well if there is **** all to talk about re Zaha which there cleary isn't, why not digress?
  19. When did we have poor results under Adkins?
  20. To be fair, a lot of people see AP through rose tinted specs. Ultimately I just don't think that AP and NC got on, AP knew his time was up and his heart wasn't in the job at the start of our second L1 campaign. To suggest that Lambert struggled that season due to his response to Adkins like some are alluding to is ridiculous. He had a hip problem which he still needs to manage carefully and he has only ever had positive things to say about NA and the club.
  21. Yea but Carroll is much younger so by the time he is Rickies age he will have learned to control and kick a ball properly..... apparently
  22. Possibly. I would assume that records have to be kept for a period of time dependant upon how the area is regulated, precisely for these reasons. I wouldn't assume that nothing would be found just because it occurred 10 years ago.
