The "Big" News - free "All Star" match on Sunday: K.O 3pm
Dig Dig replied to benjii's topic in The Saints
Can someone ask him about the fans forum as well. Thanks -
Never having to be worried about getting a good spanking as we'd be the ones dishing them out! Remember those horrible 5,6 and even 7 goal hidings in the prem.... Those were awful!
-
The other thing is the "ITK's" talking up potential transfer targets which we were never likely to get...Austin this Jan etc. When the reality hits that we have signed Forte instead, peeps are often under whelmed by this and see it as a poor transfer window. Can't wait for the craziness to begin in July!
-
He's still holed up in a hotel on the outskirts of soton. Think NC forgot to call him
-
Fair play Nick. It's interesting reading back on the NA appointment threads around the time. Some absolute hysterics going on. Some nutters were even suggesting Shearer and similarly shocking candidates with not much management experience just because of their "big" names.
-
Going to go for defining moments instead of just one: 1) Appointing NA...had a good feeling about him from the start 2) MK Dons 3-2. Really started to believe after this point. Great game which showed how far the club has come. Last season at 2-0 down we would almost certainly have lost and the fans would have turned on the side. 3) Brighton 2-1.. the one game most people thought we would drop points and the reality is that we couldn't afford to!

Instead of 22nd!
-
You really do come across as a bitter turd
-
At this stage of the season it's not really a choice. Suffer enough injuries to key players and any team would end up relying on players which would not normally be in the first team.
-
The point is that we did dip into the market. We have signed Chaplow, Stephens, Forte and N'guesson either perm or on loan. Added to an already very good squad for this level that should be enough. No team can compensate entirely for the number of injuries we have seen to key players. Do you think Utd would have sufficient cover if they lost their equivalent players? say: Berbatov Scholes Giggs Nani Evra They have good players to come in but ultimately their team would be weakened as would their chances of the double. You can't have a squad full of back up players all of equal quality as the first team. It just doesn't happen. The injuries are unfortunate but we still have decent enough players to see us over the line.
-
Yea but this is deppo we are talking about
-
You don't need to go looking for it, just flop your junk out as soon as you get to the station and someone will be on it in a flash
-
With antibiotics, the infection should clear in around the week. The cough can remain however or up to 1 month after the infection clears
-
Then why did you quote me!? I don't know about the anti-saints threads on their site as i don't go on there. I'm only sad enough to come on here
-
What is with your ability to read? I'm not a BHA fan but was responding to someone else sayinf tuat poyet will go at the drop of a hat. Some of us are able to make opinions of other clubs. So many people getting all worked up about not caring about brighton or what a few of there fans are saying... Who gives a ****!? Some people seriously need to get a life and grow up.
-
He might go yes, but you can't just proclaim it as fact like you did as it smacks of arrogance and bitterness. If someone came on here and told us that if a better offer came in to NA, he'd be off, a fair few would say he would stay as he's here for the "project". Brighton have a similar thing going to us and it may be just as tempting to see the end product. The whole debate is too hypothetical anyway. There is no way that any top 5 club would consider poyet any time soon. Which woul d leave other NPC clubs or lower end prem clubs. As south said, he is involved in all levels of the club with loads of support and backing. The other options may not sound so tempting in comparison.
-
Know him well then?
-
Im not a BHA fan, I support Saints

I'm not denying the rivalry with Portsmouth! I'm just stating the fact that rivals will come and go depending on the situation and the league you find yourself in. So what if Brighton fans are enjoying putting one over us? We are the ones who have spent more than anyone else in the league and NA talked us up as pipping them to the title not too long ago.Plus, geographically, they are pretty close. I guarentee that there would be as big a reaction at SMS over Brighton results had we been closer to them all season and I'm sure that historically, Brighton havn't given a monkeys about our results until now. We just don't want to acknowledge Brighton or Bournemouth as rivals as it highlights our fall from grace.....all imo of course. Re Poyet, I havn't put money on it but I know how tied up he is at the moment with the AMEX partnership and the move to a new stadium. As I said, I expect to see him there next season at least.
-
He won't be going any time soon. He's pretty tied up in the PR side of things, especially the AMEX partnership. He will be there next season at least. Re all this "we only have one rival" business is a bit pathetic tbh. Surely there is more of a rivalry with Brighton this season considering we are in the same league and were both trying to achieve the same thing!?
-
Not saying they hate us, just poor match analysis and generally poor observations each week
-
They have hardly mentioned us all season. Even when we had our feature game against bournemouth a few weeks ago, they just spoke about goberns sending off, not the significance of the result. It's not just the beeb though, sky tend to big up other teams for the 2nd promotion spot before saints....strange

For those who care about club finances etc - annual accounts published
Dig Dig replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
What I meant by not relying on turnover alone is that it would be very difficult to formulate a plan to get back to prem in such a short time frame without having the financial support. What I don't understand is that some fans critise the club when we don't pay over the odds for charlie austin say, but then complain that we have to rely on the loan from ML. It's sad and a sign of the times but it's very difficult to achieve success and compete without the support of a wealthy backer. -

All distinct possibilities but I'd much rather be in this position than say either having to service external debt or having to compete based on turnover alone. I understand that there are risks regardless but like you, i very much doubt that the liebherrs would do anything to harm the long term propect of the club
