His agent let Koeman know that the player wasn't happy (presumably he knows Koeman) but that doesn't mean that a) Koeman has to let the World know that and b) it doesn't mean we should try and get the player on loan and then offer to pay up to half his value with fantasy payments thrown in. You can pretend you wouldn't care if the situation were reversed all you like but it doesn't mean it wasn't a laughable proposition for Feyenoord.

That's a different position from others trying to justify it .

F1908 raises some fair points. If a club publicly spoke about one of our promising players and then submitted a bid below asking price with unrealistic payment structures in place, I'm sure the apologists on this thread would be royally f***ed off about it.

It's actually a tough call which is obviously a very good reflection of our current team. My top 3 is based on general influence and the impact on our ability to win consistently without them: 1) Schneiderlin 2) Pelle 3) Fonte

He did but Swansea managed to get much more of the ball (unsurprisingly) when we went to 4 2 4 and started causing us more problems in the lead up to the goal. Appreciate Koemans attacking sentiment but we lost all shape and discipline after Mane replaced Reed. Mane looked excellent but should have replaced Tadic or Elia.

Not getting the goal whilst on top in first half left us more and more likely to get sucker punched. Gutting result.

Very good defensive midfielder, very tenacious and will be a fans favourite due to his application and work rate. Subbing him played into Shelvey and Swansea's hands.

Of course we can't but it's an interesting one. Particularly as we appear to have targetted an unproven 20 year old who is unhappy with his lack of first team football to replace someone who is leaving due to his lack of certainty around first team football.

He's played a lot of games for us and would have played a lot more this season if not for injury. Our "spine" is regularly missing key players, particularly in Cork's position where injuries and suspensions are a real issue over the course of a season. Ultimately, and regardless of who's fault it is (no one really), we are losing our 3rd best option in a specialised position and without adequate replacement it leaves us short of options and quality there. It's a shame to see him go.
