PR planted paragraphs that didn't make the papers...
Dig Dig replied to Saint Charlie's topic in The Saints
Southampton players will wear chastity rings in their game away to Sunderland on Saturday as a show of loyalty and purity towards axed chairman Nicola Cortese. A source close to a senior player told us that the idea came from right back Nathaniel Clyne with all but Guly Do Prado agreeing to show their support. Guly has been angered with Cortese since the slick Italian removed a gaurenteed 15 minute playing time claus from his contract after the club were promoted to the Premier League. -
CORTESE - a personal and factual view of why Ms Liebherr was right.

You discredited your point by linking back (again) to your book and £50K is absolutely nothing to the club in comparison to the prem TV money and other commercial revenue streams. -
Maybe Katarina has better plans for the club than NC had

Hope Barney does get a few games, good player! -

Too right mate. Don't care if we never win a game again after this news. Family comes first! -

D1ckhead is very offensive. A family member of mine was born with a d1ck on his head, please be more sensitive in future. -

You're right to be thinking that way, anything else is just straw clutching or not being able to see the woods through the trees due to bitterness towards Cortese (not saying that you are bitter as I know you're not) -
All I can say is this....it's a good job we still have the likes of Barnard, Martin, Sharp, Guly, Fox, Hooiveld still on the books. They will be well needed in the near future.

I called this a long time ago, house of cards of course but rather keep it up for as long as possible IMO.
-
People have been saying that we won't all season and that's with Cortese.
-
He did PM me about 2 weeks ago to be fair to him.

If improvements are made in terms of management structure then perfect. My immediate concern is their plans to protect this group of players and management team which should be the priority now. If their intentions are not long(ish) term, they might not. They let Cortese have a free reign post Marcus, rightly or wrongly, Cortese seems to have created a machine which breaks when he isn't running it. -

Seems to be the case but the article suggests they were pressing the issue again when we were 3rd in the table, after the agreement made in the summer. Would make sense that they would want more control when we are at the hight of our value , Cortese wanted to continue to the "next level" it seems. -

Most people do, you and others do more to link everything to Cortese. -

The essence of the article is the same, Pochettino considering his future and other clubs seeing an opportunity to get to our players. The bit about the owners wanting more control as our profile rose is the most interesting bit. Cortese a victim of his own success it seems. -
Shame TP has already been snapped up by palace. It would complete the dream of maintaining lower mid table/relegation candidates, get relegated within 3 years, change the manager 5 times in 5 season, spend 8 years in the Championship playing in front of 15K crowds at home, all whilst playing in stripes. Barry will be delighted anyway, not an expensive foreign signing in sight.
-
Doesn't matter mate, might have stripes again next season!

Of course it isn't but in terms of progression, good managers and players leaving usually leads to one thing. We've been there before. -
