The league deducts 10 points when clubs go into administration due to financial problems. Relegation-threatened Southampton had hoped to avoid such a penalty because its parent company and not the club went into administration last week. But the league is now looking into the relationship between the club and Southampton Leisure Holdings. Football League chairman Lord Mawhinney confirmed to Sky Sports News that he hopes for a conclusion "as soon as possible".

Update- Well i got me a MRI! Decent bloke who saw me, knew his stuff, reckons i have torn the cartilage and that will need keyhole to trim and tidy up etc and also he thinks i may have torn my ACL. Should have the MRI booked for about 2 weeks time. Hythe hospital was a pleasure, in on time, free parking and a decent doctor who was- a) English b) Obviously a sportsman (cauliflower ear! lol) So i await the results of the MRI and hope there isnt a tear in the ACL!
