It might also play into his attacking and overlapping nature than the slow defensive build up JP had him playing from the few games I've been able to see this season. Sounds like everyone is working hard to get it out of defense quickly and we've been "by far the better side in the first half" according to David Armstrong and Steve Coogan.

If I hadn't been laid off I'd be doing the same

Woohoo! jason Euell header at the near post from a Surman cross.
-
Saints goal!! Bugger disallowed. Size headed goal from a Surman set-piece but disallowed for a push in the back of defender.

Proposal for freelance work - done, and am now sitting down to eat a quick chicken salad, listen to the Saints vs. Tractor Boys in blue and watch the Chelsea vs. Skates game. Let's hope the blues all lose tonight. Positive start so far, lots of forward movement and looking for attack as an outlet from defense (not sure if this is a polite insinuation that we're playing long ball or being direct).

Likewise and also Steve Moran standing with his arms folded behind his back. Weird.

Thrilled with the result yesterday, my girlfriend can't believe my mood elevation and I secretly believe she thinks its because she moved into my apartment yesterday Not wishing to bring us back down to frustration but its only one win and I'd love to see us go on a run. The Beeb has written the obvious and expected Premier League club gone bad piece on Charlton. It would be so easy to replace the name Charlton with Southampton but then I read deeper and realised that they changed from having a consistent manager and sound financials which we have never really had - yet we still survived in the Prem longer. Perhaps it helped put our situation back into perspective a bit for me - but we really did overachieve for a long time. Ha! I missed the Stone Island stuff but it was good to hear how he quickly referenced us first when talking about his most cherished memories with football clubs. Shortly afterwards they had the Charlton Leeds game from 04 on and Euell scored two for Charlton. What would we do if we could wind the clock back to 04.... which led me to think about Matt Oakley and Leicester and I'm now wondering if relegation and administration are such a bad thing - fresh start etc. (trying to see a positive in all this gloom) But yes, was great to see Niemi.

Would have taken a point after losing a defender 8 mins into 2nd half. With all four losing away from home, we really need to start getting maximum points at home to press the advantage otherwise we're asking an awful lot. Pleased with two points this week in retrospect and delighted rthe Saga's back with us and amongst the goals again.

Saints to blame for rise in domestic violence?
NY Saint replied to Master Bates's topic in The Saints
Link to the article: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/4091309.Is_Saints____dismal_form_to_blame_for_rise_in_domestic_violence_/ What I thought was rather funny was line that references other possible causes including the more likely stress caused by unemployment. -

Found a way around it - working for me now. Thanks.

Has there been any reference to protests (or worse - violence) during the commentary?

Anyone else having issues getting Saintstv.com to load? Its crashed IE on both my girlfriend's laptop and my PC. Can't hear the game... and NOW it sounds like its worth hearing again

Still find it amazing that tipping the bar staff doesn't happen in the UK. Whenever I'm back home I feel guilty paying for drinks... until I realize it just cost me double the price of the pint in the US. If you buy a packet of crisps (bar snacks) open the packet up and share them around for at least the first packet. Especially if bought as part of a round. Barsnacks might also be a decent payback for the designated driver.

lol - updated the photo link to the image I posted on the BBC's site. Mine's number 5. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_pictures/7832390.stm# I shot some video as well but its shaky and quite a distance away. The plane was moving South quite quickly (20-30 blocks) from momemt of impact to when they began to move it into shore over the course of 2 hours. p.s. DellDays - records are safe. I was actually trying to play the helicopter game but it wouldn't load on my machine.

Here's a link to the pic I took from my observation deck. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_pictures/7832390.stm# Edit: oops - I tried to post the pic from my Facebook profile, it also got picked up on the Beeb's site. Its number 5 on this list. The plane came down practically inline with my apartment building. I was actually playing one of those daft games in the SF arcade when I heard a loud noise. Ten minutes later loads of firetrucks were hurtling past my window heading to the West side highway. You usually see two or three for a normal sized fire, so when I'd seen 6-7 I realized something was happening. Girlfriend called and told a plane had crashed enxt to my apartment, so I grabbed a camera and headed to the gym in my building, then sundeck until the plane moved out of view and finally to the roof where I took the pic. It never gets quiet in NYC I've been here since 2000 and have been through 9/11, blackouts, a steampipe exploding three blocks from my office and now a plane crashes a block away. Crazy.

United game at Nevada Smiths
NY Saint replied to NY Saint's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
Five of us in the end and my girlfriend. Could have been a lot worse. Probably my last game of the season on TV or radio. -
A few of us are heading over to Nevada Smiths to watch the game tomorrow if you're around feel free to join us and all the Yankie Mancs.

Alpine I gave you the benefit of the doubt again tonight, you appeared to post a positive, nay celebratory post that supported this club on reading the result, but as with everything Saints related you pick it apart until the pleasure has been removed. Tonight I'm grateful that I'm healthy, my family and friends are safe and secure, I've had another positive, fun day and Saints have won against the odds. I feel sorry for anyone that has the displeasure to be related to you by blood, marriage or other acquaintance. I honestly believe you are a miserable human being that takes pleasure in supporting other people's misfortune. I have no interest in reading or understanding what makes you such a disappointing human being and hope for the sake of others that you are not a parent/mentor. You are a failed human and a disgrace to my friends that have died.

Quality! I'm 'meeting' the FA Cup today at a private event in NYC. Hope they play the same commercials etc. I've been told they will be a nostalgic look at games etc possibly featuring underdogs.

Is it too late to nominate Sarah Palin as loser of the month? Utterly embarassing, a clueless hick with inappropriate experience and who appears out of her depth at every turn.

Coventry Game On! US Setanta
NY Saint replied to LVSaint's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
Sadly I'm also getting 8:30pm EST on Setanta as first and probably only showing. Nevada don't have it on their schedule and reluctant to email our boy as I've a baaad feeling about this game. Still, its a good excuse not to head out to the Hamptons in ****ty weather to hang with the girlfriends 'friends with 3 year old kids.' I'd much rather spend all day Saturday avoiding which minute we failed to dispose of Cov despite playing attractive football (e.g. Blackpool and QPR) hahah. Or I could ignore this game and setup for the Palace game where I'm more confident of a pie, a couple of pints and 3 points! COYr. LV enjoy the road trip dude, thats quality. -
Tijuana Tim on the 3rd half now! Good to hear from you mate. On a side note how the hell did Derby beat QPR today?!
