  1. I think it's the end of next season.... we signed him on a 5 year deal ( 5 years ffs!!!!!!!) in 2008
  2. He could ditch football and take up becoming a professional ****, he seems to be doing a pretty good job of that at the moment. Better than his football anyway.
  3. Yeah, for a club that maybe didn't have much financial security you could possibly snap him up for that - but Hudders are pretty secure with good backing behind them so they don't need that money, it's no benefit to them. So it will take very very big offer to make them remotely interested.
  4. It's what you want to hear from a manager IMO. ''We want the top spot, we want to be the best, we want to win the league''. Better than the Burley days where he was always aiming for the Playoffs and psychologically that affects everyone, including the fan base....so you lose that extra bit of intensity.Nothing wrong with raising the targets and aiming for the best. Players should thrive on the opportunity to prove they can be the best.
  5. The difference I can tell is that CMS kind of forced defenders into mistakes, and punished them on every mistake they made. His pace and work rate opened up alot of opportunities for him. The higher up you go, then less mistakes they make so your movement and instincts need to be better...which is why he isn't scoring as many in the championship. Rhodes has great movement, and makes his own opportunists through the movement and he has that natural instinct. Similar to Lambert (totally different player I know...) but he knows where to be to score, so does Rhodes...they will score goals at any level given the service.
  6. I have absoloutly no problem with people stating an opinion when they have decent stuff to back it up with. But you have always been saying this, "our manager, chairman is sat there with no urgency in terms of signing a player. They're doing nothing, they have their fingers up their arses". It's like you can see into the board room and exactly what they're doing. But you can't, so how the hell can you even come to that opinion? You can't, which is why I can't accept that. If you were in the board room and witnessed them doing nothing then you'd have a point and be able to backup your opinion, but you don't so you can't. Therefore you are speaking rubbish.
  7. Unfortunately yes. Well, we got a lump sum from Spurs at the time and Forecast, but it removed all other clauses in the bale deal.
  8. He's not ****, HTH.
  9. Shut up.
  10. The fact that he's a substitute for Bromley says all you need to know about the ineptness of the guy.
  11. Gobern has been great for them in all the games he's played to be honest, they really really rate him up there. Pleased for him.
  12. but against a truly shocking wycombe team. He's a goal scorer though, will always score in whatever league IMO, if he has the right service. I don't think we'll get him though, more likely to go to a premiership side.
  13. 5 goals for Rhodes, great movement. but wycombe are utter, utter, utter dross.....rubbish.
  14. Rhodes is a natural goal scorer, he will score at any level with the right service. Not surprised to see the amount of clubs linked.
  15. to be honest, I think he needs the game time to get his confidence and form back. It's not like he's knackered...he's just missing a bit of sharpness, which he lost during his injury.
  16. Interesting pairing. Doble needs to kind of start making his mark here now, what is he...22/23? Getting on a bit now in football terms! I imagine the squad for tomorrow will be very similar to the one which started against Crystal Palace in the carling cup? Ward Prowse/Reeves etc...
  17. In terms of transfers incoming, Adkins latest interview is very positive. Spoke about Lee, which included pictures of him training in saints kit etc - so that's pretty much done bar the shouting. He also said that Lee was shown to the players last year, after he scored in the Asian cup final...so he's obviously one we've been after for a while. Also was asked if there will be any more movement....and he said yep, we want more players in here sooner rather than later and the chairman is working hard behind the scenes to do that. He said we won't have anyone in for Saturday, but the target is to have new faces in before the Forest game...and then the Leicester game. Sounds like we're tracking quite a few players. When asked about the FA Cup he seemed pretty adamant that all focus is on the league, and improving the squad to make sure we make the best of our position and get promoted to the premier league. That's now the target and goal for this season without a doubt. No 17th placed finish Dalek.
  18. tbf they wouldn't have gone all the way down the line without investigating the work permit, and if there would be any real issues.
  19. He has already signed, pending the work permit being approved/accepted. Once that's done, all becomes official.
  20. True, that's already happened. He's gone. (David Burke iirc)

    Ben Reeves

He's been converted by the development coaching team into a more attacking left sided player, who can also operate 'in the hole'. They thought he'd suit that role because technically he's very good, and has a good cross and shot on him.....he is a little lightweight, but so was bale in his early days with us. He was terrific in the carling cup games I saw earlier in the season tbh, some great ability on the ball shown in those games. He only made his first league app. on Monday, and it's not easy coming into a team 2-0 down and 10 men. He could do with a loan IMO - but we can't risk that until we have more backup.
  22. De Ridder was injured, which showed up our lack of options even more tbh. Don't think it was anything serious.
  23. Some awesome goals in there, what a great year. Got to be the Boro one for me, although there was so pretty **** defending from boro and that have hearted attempt by Bates to stop it was a shocker.
  24. He's inconsistent, but on his day and when he's on his game he's up there with the best players at this level. From when I've watched him he's always had alot of pace, as well as being quite a presence in terms of physique (height etc). Maybe a change of scenery is what he needs. I wouldn't pass this guy up if we have a chance to get him.
  25. Totally agree with that. But it's good that we've got him training with us already, even before the work permit - so at least we have a bit of time there. I don't think this will be our only attacking addition either, just a hunch.
