  1. Great statement from NC, i was slightly worried with all the talk that he was going to do something silly - but obviously not. Interesting section in the statement, where he states he wants to see ''a good style of play that is compelling to watch''. glad it's all sorted though and we can look forward to the summer.
  2. They deserve all the credit for getting there in the first place, and they put up a good fight (didn't see much of it as i was hooked on the PO Semi) didn't ever imagine Baird playing in a euro final!
  3. bit harsh, they've both earned their right this year and have done a good job. Whoever wins the final deserves a place in the PL, whether they're good enough to stay there is enough thing though. but what an utter moron with that penalty. I can see him being the first player released in the summer - 1 goal all season and he's a striker.
  4. broke his leg, left ACL and now the right ACL. utter nightmare. i always thought he could have made an impact here.
  5. 3-2 Leicester now. 3-3 on agg. anyone's game.
  6. 3-1 to Leicester now the playoffs this year are bloody fantastic....cant' take your eyes off them.
  7. well that's put that to bed then. thread closed? shame - good bloke.
  8. don't think so - i only remember it being announced on the FL Show on saturday night.
  9. I don't think people are turning against him, most of us can see what he's done and we'd ben screwed without him and ML - but that doesn't mean he's closed to critisism and i feel there are a few things he could and should have handled much better than he has.
  10. I agree with you. We have alot to thank NC for and he's done alot of good in putting this club back in the right direction, but as you say - his constant alienating of certain individuals and his petty blocking of the echo is irritating alot of people. At the end of the day all the Pardew uncertainty has been caused by his comments to solent a few months ago - IMO chairman should really not get involved in the media like he did, they were some naive comments which rocked the ship and has added a doubt over pardews future ever since. All we need him to do now is confirm either way - keep him, or replace him, because we cannot have a summer of this constant ''the club refuse to comment'' rubbish.
  11. quality, well played blackpool - brilliant performance.
  12. You're right, Pard's has laid some really solid foundations at this club - from the players, to the coaches and even to the scouting network. If you ignore the first 10 games, his performance on the field has been pretty good. 83 points is the real total we gained over 46 games, 3 points behind leeds. I don't count that as a failure considering what we started with. If he does go it must primarily be down to NC and Pards clashing behind the scenes, there have been some disagreements on the targets for some time (if you look at Nicola's statement from February on the league not being good enough, and the cups not a priority etc) Any new manager that comes into this club is lucky, because they take control of a ready made club which they don't need to do much with - Pard's has laid it all ready for them, which is why it's so harsh if he does get sacked. Cotterill will probably get us promoted, but i must say his appointment wouldn't fill me with a massive amount of confidence - he's not in the same league as Pard's anyway, which is why I'd view it as a backwards step in the grand scheme of things. I trust pard's to take this team to the premiership - and i believe he'd make if he's given the chance. Sadly, i don't think he will be.
  13. I'd love to know what AP has done to **** NC off so much! it can't just be our league performance, because that's been ok...
  14. if that's true, then it really is madness and possibly would take us backwards and render this season a waste of time.
  15. ****. Poor fella, such a shame - he had the talent to make an impact here, but was ruined by injuries.
  16. Heskey was always the safe option though, Zamora has been fantastic this season but he's never proven himself at international level, which makes it quite a big gamble when you're basing a decision on 2 friendly matches prior to the tournament. I'm pleased to see Parker and Huddlestone included, they've both had fantastic seasons and it would have been wrong if Hargreaves was included in front of them. It's good to see some really good wide players included too - that's been our problem in past tournaments, now we have players like Lennon/Johnson/Cole/Theo etc - who can all offer decent width. (I’m sounding like derry here...) Possible question mark over SWP - Maybe young deserved a chance ahead of him? he's had a decent season and SWP has been hit and miss for me. Overall - not a bad squad tbh. Will be interesting to see what the final squad turns out to be.
  17. Wouldn't suprise me - they are being run by the same two guys who said ''we're financialy in a mess'' then 1 week later come out and say ''we want to spend 100,000 p/w on a striker'' !
  18. Wasn't the story a while back suggesting that Pard's would only be appointed if they were relegated? i can see them going for a ''bigger'' name myself. They'll want to make a big statement imo.
  19. this has really all been started by NC though, and his comments about us not doing well enough in the league, and the pretty clear message that it's play-offs or bust.
  20. what on earth is NC playing at. nut job.
  21. there's something going on nick, however you dress it up - this isn't just mindless rumours anymore. we'll have a new manager by next week IMO.
  22. Welcome to QPR.
  23. who needs torres? he wouldn't score more than 10 in this league
  24. Messi has something like 45/46 goals in all comps - unreal.
