The PL just want to get rid of them, if they stay up though it will open up a can of worms similar to the Tevez/Sheffield United scenario.
-
they've failed to pay their players AGAIN today news on the BBC Sport ticker ''ortsmouth fail to pay players' delayed December wages on Wednesday''
-
probably not duff, but i guess maybe a bit misguided on time frames- still believe it will happen though. the fact we've heard nothing from any other club is a plus.
-
being used as a makeweight in the brian stock transfer if rumours are to be believed.
-
You cannot compare it really, a divison apart. Viafara/Claus/Skacel/Bale/Baird/Alex/Rasiak/Saganowski (on form..)/Surman world apart in terms of quality IMO. let's not get carried away....with this current team we would struggle along in the bottom half of the champ.
-
sensational if true, can only assume gillett is being used as a makeweight. this kid is a top championship midfielder ffs, it's crazy that we can attract him.

From 606, but ties up with what i have heard tbh. (Fee is probably a little lower than what they say here) ''Southampton are reported to have held talks with Coventry City Defender, Elliott Ward, with a view to complete a deal worth £900'000. Ward, who was valued at £1.5m, is looking to complete a move in time for the weekend visit of Huddersfield. Speaking about Ward, Coleman said "Ive been expecting this for some time. I said weeks ago that I thought Elliott would cut his ties with us in the window, and in all honesty with you, I wish him well. He is a fantastic player, and one who I trusted to do a job while waiting until the window. He was terrific and done a great job for us, but as I said when we played Plymouth, I imagined that he would move on. He is out of contract in the Summer, and rather than wait for a payday and sit on a wage, he has taken the move. I did think when he rejected Notts County's offer that he would be tempted to see out his contract - but now Southampton's offer has come in, and they are a big club with the right facilities to get them back up to this level (maybe higher), he may settle and recapture the form that made us pay out £1m for him. Like West Ham, they have a great reputation of getting the best from youngsters and Elliott is still young at 24.'' now i don't think someone would be sad enough to write up an interview with coleman...although i haven't found it anywhere else...

ok i take back what i said earlier, cannot tell the paths from the road here now. So heavy... It's exciting.... until you have to get up and go to work. I wish i could just fast forward through tomorrow morning as it's going to be ****. cars already skidding all over the place where i live!
-
I somehow don't think he's been pm'ing anyone '' Tac-tics Full Member Send Message User Lists Last Activity: Today 04:03 PM''

ffs - it's the 5th of january, i can assure you we're working on bigger and better things.
-
What is wrong with taking up any sort of opportunity when it presents it's self? We will sign big this window, for sure, but our main issue is squad depth and there are no problems in adding a bit of ''cover''.
-
apparently there won't be much in central soton now, looks like it will pretty much avoid us. It's act. been raining where i am... never mind - at least the game will be on for sat!
-
I'd still expect us to go for a pacy striker though, i see Pericard as a kind of ''replacement'' for lambo, if he's injured - as we have no one else with any sort of ''presence'' to play up top.
-
Twitter update BBC Radio Solent understands that #saintsfc are closing in on the signing of Carlisle United striker Vincent Pericard.
-
I don't know, I've got an open mind on it - he's been decent for Carlisle at this level and will be a useful squad player. Sky sports reported earlier that they ''understood'' he'd rejected the contract offer by carlisle and was set to join another club - so putting that and south today's report together, he's probably ours.
-
If we really wanted him, a week wouldn't matter. He's likely to be ours imo.
-
South today report that he is ''set to sign'' in the next few days.

Thought I'd bump this up, as we could be in for some nasty stuff tonight. met office have just released a ''red -take action'' warning for hampshire. (so that would mean gritting the roads ) ''London & South East England: Hampshire Oxfordshire Southampton W Berkshire There is a high risk of an extreme weather event affecting parts of Southern England this evening and overnight. A period of exceptionally heavy snowfall is expected with accumulations of 15-30 cm and perhaps in excess of 40 cm. This is expected to cause widespread disruption to the transport network and could lead to problems with power supplies. The public are advised to take extreme care and refer to the Highways Agency for further advice on traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads. Issued at: 1135 Tue 5 Jan''

that would be amazing if true, he's not a L1 defender that's for sure. I also read somewhere that we were in the market for Kilgallon, but i find that hard to believe...
-
tbf he'd be a decent squad player at this level.
-
Thought that's all it would be. Bizzare that they put it on twitter. It was pretty much common knoweledge he was staying anyway. 1st signing of a few though IMo.
-
It's not even been moved because it will be on TV. it's been moved ''incase'' there is a chance it will be chosen for TV The second leg of the Dons' Johnstone's Paint Trophy area final against Southampton at St Mary's Stadium has been brought forward a week to Tuesday 9th February, kick-off 7.45pm. The game had been scheduled to take place on Tuesday 16th February, but dates have been adjusted in order to fit potential television schedules should the game be selected for live coverage.
-
at a guess it's antonio, i'd very much doubt we've managed to tie up the Ward transfer this soon.
-
the latest news (as speculated on the forums by their ''ITK'' people) is that he's rejected their contract offer.
