listening to that, it seems that people are over-reacting again. What exactly has he said that's wrong? doesn't really come across as rude or abrupt to me either.

I don't think James is that bad, but you can't really say he had a good time tonight tbh. he seemed very reluctant to challenge, and his passing 90% of the time was wayward. As you said - i expect this to be down to him carrying an injury of sorts, will be interesting to see how he is after a full pre-season.
-
he's not a poor manager.
-
because he signed when we were something like 20/22pts off colchester and co. you would be a bit naive to expect promotion, ok he may have expected to have a chance and a crack at it (which we have done) but i doubt very much that it was promotion or bust for him. he will still be here, along with lambo i'm sure.
-
warnock wasn't a big fan of him at Palace apparently, which is why he didn't kick-up a big fuss when he left.
-
he will be here next season, he didn't sign with a guarantee of getting promotion - none of our players did tbh. He is one of the best CB's in the champ, let alone L1, he makes everything look so easy and always has so much time. Class.
-
he helps us set a rhythm in the games, when you replace him with Wotton you kind of know what you're going to get. not anyone's fault though, we just don't have the depth in the CM dept.
-
what the hell has happened to him? he's always been half decent - nothing special - but he looked like he was lost tonight, didn't want to tackle, couldn't pass and was reluctant to do anything remotely positive....and he was only on 25mins. Maybe he's still carrying an injury? that's all i can guess, because he was never that bad.

Good character, alot of passion, but all the ability of an ostrich. awful, awful player - you cannot get any pattern in the game with him passing it out of play, or hoofing it in the air. Got no problem with him as a person, but please try and keep his time on the pitch to a minimum.
-
That's what you get with Punch, a player that can do something that has you pulling your hair out - then the next moment, he's popped one in the top corner from the edge of the area. You've got to be patient with him, expect the unexpected - but we're more dangerous with him in the team. Semi can go at the end of the season though, we can do better.

Oldham came for one thing today, a point, and they got it. They had no intention to attack, play football or cause us problems. They sat, wasted time and put men behind the ball. In games like that you need an early goal...but we were abysmal in the first half, really really poor and we didn't have the imagination to break down a pack of zombies, let alone oldhams back 4. That's what killed us - we huffed and puffed in the 2nd half, we did have alot of shots which were blocked, parried etc. but i didn't think we really really tested the goalkeeper that much, it was all a bit standard for him and the defenders - the quality of the crossing at times was poor, esp. in the last 8mins when we played a formation 1 - 0 - 10. The ref was poor, but that's not the reason we didn't win tonight, it was our poor first half - and when you start a game the way we did, it's very very hard to get up a rhythm to break a team like oldham down. Very frustrating night, but it's still been a good season, kind of as i expected (with the added bonus of the JPT) - when we don't have to rely on Wotton next season (awful...), I'd expect to see us pushing in the top 2. On another note, a really disappointing attendance, which kind of resulted in a proper flat atmosphere - the first half seemed like an end of season game with nothing on it - and that's also how we played.

It is 4. confirmed on the OS and by Pardew in the pre-match interview.

wtf @ plymouth playing ''we are the champions'' for the away team, after they've just been confirmed as relegated. not sure their fans will be too happy with that. credit to newcastle though, they've done much better than i thought they'd do after their pre-season. They were always too big for that league tbh

Could the cups have dented promotion this season..?
S-Clarke replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
thats a silly way to look at it, you go into every single game to win it - which we have done, and we found oursevles in 2 decent cup runs. if you want a real example of a cup run damaging the league - look at Leeds. did you expect us to throw cup games so we could win promotion? i think you'll find that would have had a worse effect on our form. -

not really, it's helped us install a winning mentality as we actually lifted a trophy at Wembley. and if you look at the stats, add back on the 10 pts and we're on course for a top 2 finish. i think it's been a pretty good season all things considered. -
All we need is huddersfield to slip up in one of their next 2 games (draw/defeat) and as long as we win all our games up to southend, it will be decided on the last day. it should be a good attendance though, i guess we'll do the lap at the end with the JPT. ..but maybe we should do that at the carlisle game
-
Oldham gave Huddersfield a really good game the other week, they hit the bar a few times and probably should have won the game in all honesty. it's not going to be easy, a win for them will secure them for another season so i expect them to be well up for it.
-
Never gets a game, doesn't even get onto the bench either and with Wolves looking likely to stay up, I'd guess he'll be looking for a move away in the summer. the last time he was involved with the squad was as an 88th min sub back at the start of feb, and he's not even injured at the moment. feel sorry for him.

what commentary do they use? is it just the sky sports commentary?
-
great goal he just scored. he will be world class

Every team will have results like that though, it happens. Burnley 1- 0 man utd 0, Tranemere 3 - 1 Norwich etc... The fact is that if we now add our 10pts back on, we would be within 4 pts of 2nd (1 pt off if we win our game in hand) that tells me that we've not done much wrong at all. Unfortunately the points deduction and the disjointed start left us in a position where we could barley have a slip up in the 2nd half of the season - which in the big picture, was always unlikely. If we started with this team on even footing, i wouldn't bet against us getting 90+ points

did you enjoy your beer?

Why do people on here LOVE (love, love) to moan about the happy-clappies...? Why cant people just accept that everyone is different and everyone has different views, opinions and expectations. GIANT Yawn

don't think so tbh, i'm not looking any further than Hudds' they will pick up 2pts from those fixtures.
