  1. He was highly rated at Torino, but the move to Juve didn't work out. He's looked very leggy/cumbersome for them. He's very powerful and athletic, but seemingly prone to some very big lapses. He's not a bad player by any means, he could probably do ok in the right environment - but I wouldn't say we've missed out on the signing of the decade.
  2. Our first choice last year seemed to be Vlaar. Toby did seem to come out of no where on deadline day, or the day before. Nothing to suggest we cannot do similar (although earlier please, saints!)
  3. I thought Gardos was pretty good against Arsenal as well, in the cup game. Although they didn't exactly have a full strength attack, he defended the area pretty well.
  4. And that's why I prefer the way we do things.
  5. That game was depressing defensively. Lambo put us in front iirc, or equalized - one of the 2. If I remember right, that was Rasiak's last game for us too? But it should have been so more than 3-1. Kind of felt sorry for Lambo after that game, I bet he was wondering what shower he'd joined. We've come a long way though!
  6. Yeah, we're run like a b&b. For what it's worth, he's not much of a loss.
  7. I think he's being forced to train with the u16's now.
  8. If they're paying 65k for Scott Dann, what the hell are they paying Cabaye???
  9. I'm going to take my Dia shirt down there. Oh, and my Toby one which arrived yesterday.
  10. They're a decent sized club, with pretty nice backing - and taken advantage of some strong commercial oppertunities. It'll be interesting to see what happens if they have a sticky start this season. I don't think Spurs fans were too taken in by MP last season, I think they were all open to ''giving him time'' - but next season will be interesting. The knives will be out if there isn't notable progress, in my opinion. It'll be interesting to see how they feel when they're travelling to Milton Keynes for their home games.
  11. He's a good player, thought he was wanted back at Milan. That awful injury he had came at such a crap time though, totally ruined his Chelsea opportunities. Will be interesting to see what he can do with some game time. And secondly, what a waste of a quality goal keeper.
  12. I know some people will disagree, but I think our attack is quality tbh. One of the most all round attacking units we've had since we've been back in the PL. Mane, Long, Jay, Pelle, Juanmi, Tadic, Hesketh, Isgrove, Gallagher (And then you've got Gaston as well, who I don't know if he will stay around) There's a bit of everything there. Pace, strength, height, mobility, technique, work-rate.
  13. Maybe he was let go because he wasn't happy with the ticketing strategy?
  14. TBF he would be what I'd call a luxury signing, not really needed. (similar to any kind of attacking signing) Let's focus on centre back and midfield, get the top, top, top quality we need in those positions. The attack is ok as it is.
  15. TBF I don't think anyone is saying rubbish. He's a good lad and I think he learnt from last summer, he obviously had his own meltdown last summer as well - as he was seeing everyone leave. I think he knows the clubs place and I think he accepts that. We're happy to sell if A) someone pays enough and B) they're a CL club. If none of those occurs, he's not going to strop I wouldn't have thought. The only position it will weaken is our own, as I can't see him signing a new deal...so his value will drop. From the clubs POV, if he's not going to sign, they're probably keen to get the best fee they can for him right now.
  16. They haven't signed either player yet, and they're automatically going to be better than us. Didn't we have this with QPR last season? oh...and Norwich the season before?....and WHU the season before that? Never mind.
  17. There was and still is something fishy about all of that! But that's water under the bridge now.
  18. I'd love to sign Krychowaik - but I cannot see him throwing away CL football for us, he's already on decent enough money. It's probably a non-starter, unless he's not happy and needs to move for personal reasons - but nothing suggests that. But even if that was the case, there would be plenty more suitors.
  19. They don't need to be interested in him though, all they have to do is recall him from us.
  20. I wouldn't think resale value is ever really on the minds of Utd/Chelsea/City/Madrid etc. Here and now is what they want/
  21. Sam Vokes could be worth a sniff, was prolific the last time hw as down there. Beckford. Ince would get you goals from midfield.
  22. To be fair, they snared brown from WBA last season - or the season before. So not really one of their own.
  23. Djuricic...Elia..? do they know something we don't??
  24. The centre half is aware of the furore his transfer has caused and been in touch with Southampton manager Ronald Koeman to express his appreciation for bringing him to the Premier League. He said: "I understand that there is some disappointment. I have sent a text message to Ronald and thanked him for a great year. He gave me a lot of confidence and made me a better footballer. "I gave 100 per cent for Southampton and wish everyone luck for next season."
  25. Whilst the Londoners fund the refit...! This is just my opinion, but I think they've gambled a year too early. They're not there yet.
