  1. Seriously, forget him! He offers nothing. Let' Hull Suffer his crapness.
  2. I think the only link to us came from that fact that Koeman is dutch, and that they share the same agent. There was never anything more concrete than that! He's way out of our league if we're honest! He's a top international midfielder still at the prime years of his career.
  3. Based on nothing apart from the fact that Koeman and Sneijder share the same agent...
  4. Only a couple of million in it, actually.
  5. It's not like you to post incorrect and misguided rubbish, is it?
  6. Mane has definitely inherited the scapegoat coat, no doubt about it. Happened at a couple of home games, exactly the same as you had as well - moan moan, bloody mane....and it was wanyama....moan moan, keeps losing the ball...it was Clyne. I find it odd that anyone needs a scapegoat. If they play for Southampton they at least deserve support and he has, let's not forget, won us a couple of games this season. He's being portrayed as a complete villain, and whilst it's true he's having a bit of a bad time, he's no where near as bad as people are saying. Some way OTT comments. I love Tadic, rate him highly, but has he been much better in the last 3/4 games than Mane? Probably not, no. So why's he not coming in for the same level of vitriol?
  7. It's easy to predict lots of bad results, as we're on a bad run. Whilst it's also easy to predict a load of good results when we've been winning. It rarely happens like that though, so I expect us to do a lot better than people expect in the next 4/5.
  8. what, 3 or 4 dodgy games? Christ, give him a break! He's a natural leader, I noticed that in the first part of the season. I'm judging this lot on our most prolonged period of results - which was when we were winning, keep it tight etc. He was excellent, leading the back 4 and keeping the line as tight as anything. We had one of the best defensive records in European football, he was a major contributor to that - probably one of the main. The reactions based on the last 5 are nothing apart from a snapshot. It doesn't show the true story, it doesn't show their true form. It's silly to judge anyone at the moment as it's such a dysfunctional side due to suspensions and injuries and changes and form. He's more than good enough for Europa League football by the way, and is not holding us back in any way.
  9. There are way too many of these OTT threads at the moment. Calm down. Stop looking for issues that aren't there and be grateful we have people like Fonte at the club. People have talked about replacing him for 3 seasons now. He's still there and is still leading the defence. Are none of our players allowed a ropy moment what so ever? Do we honestly expect all of the team to play at 100% every week for 40+ games? Impossibility, physically and mentally.
  10. I didn't say he's expected to dominate midfield outright, but you'd expect to see by now - after 60 games - slightly more presence in that area. I like James, don't get me wrong, terrific talent and will only get better - but he doesn't quite influence enough for me just yet.
  11. Wanyama did very similar for Shane Long against Leicester. In fact, we didn't look like scoring in that game, and Shane Long came on, stretched it and got 2 goals. It's not worth having someone on the bench and at the club earning so much money, in the hope that he may, just may....produce a through ball in a tight game, whilst producing very little else. I can't think of another game he's greatly influenced as a substitute. And in terms of starting games...those were generally non-events. His best game was his debut. Hull are having exactly the same issues.
  12. What's the point? He doesn't want to be here, he never did want to be here. The last thing we need is a **** causing more issues on the training ground, which it's almost guaranteed he will. Let him go. Similar to Gaston - they were signed for big money, big expectations, excitement - but they were ****, pants, utter horrendous crap - they will not help us, ever. Forget them.
  13. Typical response really. When he was injured last year it was always a case of...''if we had gaston, we'd....'' or when MP was freezing him out... .''we needed gaston today...'' The fact is that we've never needed him. He's never fitted here, or anywhere outside of Italy so far. He will have offered no more than Mayuka did yesterday, or Isgrove. We didn't need him when we were playing so well, so we certainly don't need him now.
  14. James has really good technique, but....he struggles to impose himself, that's his main issue. He doesn't seem capable of dominating a midfielder and winning the battle. If we're on the front foot and he's attacking in space, then he looks good as he's terrifically technically gifted....but like yesterday, hustle and bustle of a L1 midfield - he just couldn't exert himself against it. He's still young obviously, got a lot of maturing to do....but he needs to do more other than sideways and backwards, he needs to start being that imposing figure his confidence suggests he can be.
  15. It's been a bit bitty in recent weeks. We played well against Utd and Arsenal, you can't deny that...it's against the 'other sides' where we've simply failed to turn up. I put it down to complacency, coming back from the last international break thinking they had all made it. ''Oh it's only villa away'' and the slide began. Too many players haven't got their heads in the right places at the moment.
  16. It's just a natural response I guess. A player I've heard is decent, sitting on the bench. We're losing games. That must mean he can make a difference. Player injured for long time, was decent but not amazing....suddenly becomes amazing and the solution to all of our problems during his recovery. Same can be said for Gaston. Had zero impact here, we shifted him to hull, where he continues to have zero impact - yet people are calling for his return as we miss his creativity or something, not that I've ever seen that particular trait in his game.
  17. Sod it, 6-0. Long and Mane hat-tricks, Forster with 5 one on one saves. I'd say a goal for Mayuka as well, but then that is being silly.
  18. Cut out the I'm a better fan ********. It's cringe to read.
  19. Pretty much. Our attacking movement was a non-event yesterday. He had no real service or support. It's been a similar story for Pelle over the last few weeks - lack of movement in and around him, isolation up front. The attacking third just isn't working at the moment for whatever reason. We're still not that bad defensively (minus the odd error, which was going to happen eventually), but we're pretty well organised in most cases, we just don't look likely to have any sort of opportunity right now. You can't say we were unlucky last night as I cannot remember a single clear chance we had. That is pitiful against a L1 side.
  20. For me, he makes no impact on games. Runs around (not that intelligently most of the time to be honest), but he's technically atrocious. He can make the runs all he wants, but if his touch sends it out of play then it's pretty pointless. An incredibly limited player, who after 3 years, sadly isn't going to make it here. And the jury is out as to whether he can make it in a top league full stop, given his horrific form out in france last year.
  21. Hopefully this can kind of work for us, as when we often face a team decimated with suspensions and injuries we manage to slip up, as the expectations on us to win are greater. Look at Villa for e.g....they're entire defense was injured! they had to revert to their 4th and 5th choice, yet they kept us at bay. Hopefully we can catch Everton as complacent as we have been in recent weeks.
  22. I reckon he'll stick Toby as the DM on Saturday, with JWP and Davis just in front. Yoshida will be at the back. Tadic and Long on either flank. Mane needs to be taken out of the firing line.
  23. It's spooky in the sense of how everything is playing out - the injuries, the suspensions, the start we had, the pitiful showing in a cup game.... But we're not a bad side, we haven't turned into **** over night. We've got serious confidence issues right now, bought on by the fact that I believe they got a little too carried away and started to believe their own hype (Villa away being an example). The performances against Arsenal and Utd were ok, it's the performances against the lesser sides which have started ringing the alarm bells with regards to complacency. We're more than good enough to win against Sheffield Utd, clearly, but it's not played on paper. We just weren't there tonight, not the right mentality what so ever. Blame has to lay at the management and coaches, as well as the players.
  24. Not a single positive, not one attacking moment I can remember. Not one save made to deny us. Utter trash heap crap.
  25. They deserve it, fair play to them. We were a complete mess today. Will never get a better chance to get to the Semi's, never again. We are a mess, devoid of confidence, idea's or a tactical plan. I'm bemused and as lost as the team at the moment. We're better than we're playing for sure, but this run is becoming a bit alarming. We have been outplayed and knocked out by an average L1 side.
