I can see him back at Liverpool, Brendan Rogers clinging onto the hope that a return to his 'spiritual home' will get him back to as he was. Unfortunately, as a player, I think he's done. Which is so sad, cause he was amazing in his peak.

It's the schedule this year, as the new year day games are so close. It has brought up quite a bit of debate and derision that it further 'tarnishes' the magic of the FA Cup, as 'third round Saturday' has always been an historical day.

I think the entire front 3 is struggling at the moment, Tadic hasn't been much better in recent weeks (although he was good on Monday). Passes and flicks which were working a few weeks back, are now going to the opposition. I think he's just been dragged down in the collective bad run, and when you're new to a league and quite young as well, it's can be quite difficult to play with a freedom when the team is on a bad run. In an ideal world at this moment in time he'd be the perfect impact sub, but our injuries has meant we can't do this right now.

I think if we play at the same level as we did against Arsenal and Man Utd then we'll win, we'd be too much for them. They will fight, of course, but their lack of any true PL quality through that side is shocking.

I'm not sure if it's our fans, or football fans in general, but how bloody impatient are they? I mean look at the reaction Pelle got on his home debut, he didn't even get 150mins playing time for us until some fans were on his back. I still stand by my opinion that Mane is a good player, with good movement, awareness. When he first started games for us, he was electric - a little bit erratic, but he caused teams all sorts of issues, floating all around the front 3. He was great on his debut at Arsenal for e.g. All the comparisons with him and Ali Dia are quite embarrassing for the posters really.

Targett has featured in the league cup games and has done well, but Bertrand is better than him right now which is fair enough. I don't think Isgrove will make it here, he'll end up a decent NPC player I reckon. And when you're on a bad run, the worst thing is to change everything. We were fine 4 games ago, so we don't need to reinvent the wheel. Too much youth will just reduce our chances anyway, not that they're poor players, but experience is so important at this level.

I think Gardos frightened our coaches by his slackness in the Stoke away league cup game, where he had a bit of a nightmare (and was substituted). I think hes a good player though, but it's obvious that they're going for PL experience with Yoshida in the first instance (god knows how Gardos is going to get experience though!). He's not another Forren though, given that he's actually played games for us.

Pretty much full strength for us, I'd say.

It was a floated, high, hanging one. He should have come out to it (punch, catch, tip over...whatever, it was gettable) even before RVP got a sniff if I'm honest.

When did we look over-awed? I'll give you that against City, but we took the game to Utd yesterday. It was them who looked over-awed if anything, we were all over them. People keep calling for Reed, but they seem to not really understand his role or position. He's a central midfielder, not necessarily attacking - more in the JWP mode as in a natural CM. I'm not entirely sure how bringing on another Cm was going to aid is in anyway yesterday. Granted, Mayuka is an absolute mess of a player, but there wasn't anything else he could do. Credit that he brought on Hasketh, but bringing on another CM in Reed would have been utterly pointless.

He wasn't ****. Did what he does, harries, hassles and wins the ball back. That's pretty much his game, with the occasional goal here and there.

Demba Ba would want to be first choice for a club like us, this is the conundrum we find ourselves in. Good players don't want to come and sit on the bench for a club of our size, they will have better offers out there. First choice...maybe...but then Pelle is first choice for us.

Good player, but we don't need him. One of the area's we're fine. Now if we were to lose a few in CM in the summer, of course it could be worth a sniff....
