How didn't we beat this lot at their place? Aston Villa are a joke side. Don't score, don't create chances, don't play good football, conceed lots of goals and lose lots of games. What a pointless team to support. Feel for their fans.

I wasn't aware he'd signed a 10 year contract.

Saints Sign Filip Djuricic on loan from Benfica
S-Clarke replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Because he's on loan at Mainz from Benfica. -
But he wants games now, that's the thing. At the moment, no one can say that he deserves to be in front of Morgan, Wanyama and Davis - no chance. So when they're fit, they will start, every, single week. No arguments. We offered him a contract, so we haven't just flogged him off as some are suggesting. We wanted to keep him, but he wanted regular first team football - Now. Not in 6 months, not in 12 months...he wanted it now, and you have to respect that. There is absolutely nothing we could have done, apart from starting him in front of Morgan/Wanyama or Davis - which wouldn't have gone down well anywhere.

Cheers for posting, good to hear from you guys. We have a few Feyenoord fans on here now! Out of interest - what are your views on Tonny as a player?

I think we need to have a bit of luck for sure. If we can get toby, morgan and Victor back quickly...and keep them going, then I think we have a good a chance as any. Also vital that Pelle stays fit, although if the worst does happen...I can imagine us playing Mane through the middle, or even Elia who has been known to play there. We do have alternative options if Pelle isn't available, just not a ''Pelle'' type replacement. I think we're well stocked. Will be interesting to see if we bring any more in.

To be honest, it's a real shame to lose him. I'm a big fan and think he's a valuable member of the squad - but that's the key thing here. I wouldn't say he's a first team player when everyone is fit, Morgan/Wanyama/Davis/JWP are all ahead of him right now - there's no denying that, and I think it's fair they're ahead of him as well. Midfield is one area where we have been incredibly well stocked for a good few years, and whilst it's a shame to lose him, the core quality of the side isn't reduced. Especially if we're adding the guy from Holland to replace him. But we obviously want to keep Cork in a squad position, we said as much to him and offered him a good deal - but he has decided to pursue first team, weekly football - that's fair enough, you can't begrudge him that. Whilst it's a shame we lose a valuable and talented squad player, you need to respect that he wants to play football rather than sit around waiting. Top bloke, been a top player for us - can only wish him the best.

Of Vilhena he said: “We are interested in the player because that player is not happy in Feyenoord. “He likes to play more and is interested in changing the club. “I like the player, I believe in the qualities of the player, he’s a young player who is 20-years-old. “It’s one of the philosophies of the club to have young players and if I can help the player I like to do it.”

How does he keep getting decent gigs at these mega European clubs? He's not even that good.
-
It would be absolutely ridiculous if we sign Wesley Sneijder. I just can't see it. It's not like he's a veteran or anything, he's still within his prime and is utter quality in every way. This would raise the club's profile enormously. You do have an inkling that this is possible due to Koeman as well, he's not just any old Dutchman - he's a true dutch football legend. I imagine most dutch players would consider working with him.
-
He's a typical Swansea player really, will be a good fit for them I think. We clearly have our eye on some new CM's, and with Reed and JWP's progression, his time will be limited. I like Jack, terrific for us and has put in a great shift over the years. Thought he was a bargain signing in the NPC. Don't think he's quite England quality, but a decent player in the squad - but he clearly doesn't want to be that, which is fair enough. If Swansea offer him football regular, then he'll have to take it at his age.
-
He clearly can't handle the pressure and expectation of playing for a 'big club', as found out at Lyon and now Liverpool. He was just right here, at a club exceeding expectations fitted with his game - no massive pressure or expectation on him and he could just perform. He still acted like a big headed **** when trying to get the move though, which will always leave an incredibly bitter taste.
-
We might as well give Ryan or Hasketh a chance. No point buying L1 players of his age (32 i think). He's at Bradford because he failed emphatically at Huddersfield, and he's only scored a couple of goals this year anyway.
-
What on earth is wrong with you these days? You used to be a decent poster.
-
They're playing Glen Johnson as the left sided CB, rather than Lovren. Your time is up, Dejan. Cheerio.
-
We've never done much in January, that L1 season being the exception. But traditionally, it's a panic month to buy. I don't generally think you get amazing value, the best value is in players whose contracts are running down, but if you're not desperate, you'd wait a few months and get them for free anyway! I see Sky Sports are ramping up transfer deadline day already, but the whole window has been a non-event. Nothing has happened, and I doubt it will.
-
It means nothing what so ever. Look at Lallana's interview a year before he left. Load of fan pandering media tosh, that's all it is
-
It's Lukas Jutkiewicz/Sam Vokes all over again. For what it's worth, I think he's decent. But no more than that.
-
City, Chelsea, Spurs look like going out. What a potentially crappy, crappy wasted opportunity. Arrrgh.
-
I believe they're at exactly the same points level as Moyes was at this stage last season. Yet LVG has had a fortune to spend, Falcao, Di Maria, Blind, Shaw, Rojo, Herrera. They should be doing a hell of a lot better! I think he's failed so far, but good for us as they look dodgy as hell.
-
Goal keepers usually weigh a fair bit, especially with height. I don't think it's Forster cause he's quite 'slender' in his heigh, but I reckon Cropper and Gazzaniga are on the high side. They're tall, but they look pretty bulky to the eye! Davis may way a bit too, but he's not as ''tall''. Would expect Pelle to be around/behind them and maybe Gallagher? Not sure though. big Vic I think looks bigger than he is. We don't really have that bulky a team really, pretty average I'd say! Gardos or Targett would be my picks for the least weight, as Gardos in particular looks a bit thin..!
-
Why does he obviously feel so highly of himself? He's obviously kicked off as he's been dropped from the Inter squad, but no surprise really. I think he's a **** player, really. Good touch, maybe, but not very good. Most players who think they're the bees knees are actually rather **** anyway.
