I remember in January Koeman implyed that if we lost cork, we would need to go and get a replacement midfielder - well, that never happened, so I guess that's still on the agenda with or without Morgan. And I believe Vilhena is more of an attacking style midfielder.

Yeah I mentioned that in another thread, what are those pre-season tours all about? I mean I think we can take MP's comments about burn out with a pinch of salt now. There's probably some decent $$$$ for the clubs though, which is probably why they do it. But in this day and age of everyone saying ''they don't get a break'' ...why create more games.

To be honest, doesn't feel like the season is over for me yet - not until we know what happens on Saturday. There seems to be very little break this year, only got to wait a matter of weeks and it's all started again. We only have 2 and bit weeks to wait until the fixtures are out!

It's clear to see what the world thinks of Fifa and blatter alone. It's quite clearly corrupt with the way he's stayed in power for so long, just hope they finally get the dirt on him which is obviously there somewhere.

I wouldn't be! Jenkinson did ok, but nothing special. He'd be a major downgrade in my book, and spending 50% of the Clyne fee on him would be criminal in my opinion. Personally, I think his comments today pretty much confirm he's staying - just waiting for the pen to paper confirmation now.

It looks as if Alpine is now starting to position himself for pre-season and lining his moans up, he's got a lot of making up to do - as we have hardly seen him throughout all of this record breaking season! Also seems as if our old friend Charlie is getting himself in order and prepared for another summer of wetness as well.

To be fair, for the last 5/6 months Cazorla has played in CM alongside Couqlain, with Ozil, Ramsey and Sanchez further forward in front of them.

Cazorlla hasn't done too badly, and he's the height of a little kid!

Slight change of topic, but can anyone see the sense in why clubs are taking their squads on ''end of season'' tours? They moan and moan about the lack of time to rest, and yet rather than let them have a few weeks off at the end of the season before Internationals/U21's, they take them all away to the US (Man City) or Malaysia (Tottenham) to play some meaningless friendly's.

Can't see that happening. Why would you blast £12m on an out of contract player? Fair enough, there will be compo to arrange....but 12m, seriously?

If you look at Ashley's policy over the last few years, it's to buy talent at a lowish price and then re-sell a few years later for double/3 times what they paid, so we wouldn't be getting Sissoko on the cheap if we did try. You could say that their policy is similar to ours, but ours is done by people who actually know what they're doing.

The league winner will get it most of the time. If we hadn't tailed off as we did, I'm sure Koeman would have got it. What I did find odd is that Kurt Zouma got young player of the year.
