  1. 90% of those players are attacking players, which is an area we're pretty much stocked up on anyway. So we didn't need those players. I'm sure most of those sides would love one from Mane, Tadic, Pelle, Rodriguez, Juanmi, Long
  2. He's great on FM.
  3. You'd have to drag John Terry off of her first.
  4. Blimey, that long?
  5. The observation that Newcastle lost their hold after Tiote is a correct one, but I'd agree with you on Anita - I don't think he was particularly special in the game, it's just that Tiote was so far off of batch fitness it was frightening. He didn't look anywhere near ready for PL football.
  6. The club clearly feel that we need another CB, and more strength and experience in the middle. That's the 2 positions I can see being filled by deadline day, with the CB being the most important. I have a feeling that there may be something in the Jedinak rumour. PL experience, international, good season for palace last year. He's a big presence on the field as well. He may not be the sexy signing that many clamor for, but it would be a very shrewd signing that creates us a very strong midfield.
  7. Well, not sure why he said that. Seems a bit of a loose excuse, because we didn't look tired what so ever.
  8. I didn't see a problem with fitness, we grew as the game went on. If it had gone on for another 30 mins, we'd probably have won it. Newcastle were the ones out on the feet by the end.
  9. Alpines back I see, he did go strangely quiet during our recent decent results.
  10. I saw Mile Jedinak mentioned somewhere.
  11. I reckon we'll looking more likely at the Norwich game to be honest, and that will probably be the bench. After the internationals he'd have had a good week or so training and should go straight back in.
  12. They have..! HT and FT are now up in a studio setup, no longer pitch-side.
  13. ''A better team would have beaten us today'' ''If we play like that next week, we'll get beaten'' etc etc. You hear stuff like that spouted out so often, yet it's such an irrelevant statement to make. Personally, this was always going to be a very tricky opening day game. At home, 50k fans, new management, new signings, everyone buoyed and a sense of optimism. We showed great character to get a result today, and it was a very difficult game. Newcastle certainly weren't average today.
  14. Why would we need Dyer? CB and CDM are the 2 positions left to add to. If there is a 'bonus' 3rd signing, then I'd imagine it would be another striker.
  15. Don't be silly, of course we don't. We're run like a seaside b&b.
  16. Yes, I was very frustrated by how easy he was beaten for that goal. The commentators said it was Wanyama, but there is no way in hell Wanyama would have been beaten like that. He didn't even attempt to stop it. But he was more steady in full back than Cedric, who may take a little while to adjust - he was struggling against Obertan which was a tad concerning!
  17. Liverpool/Stoke game is very poor, no real quality on show. Two teams who are closing the ball down quickly and there is very little space for anyone. If anyone shaded it slightly, based on the end of the 2nd half, you'd have to say Stoke created some decent opportunities. Still a pretty flat game all being told.
  18. Loan deal in the works, apparently.
  19. TBF easily the sort of signing they need to be making, although his error today was somewhat uncharacteristic.
  20. I would guess around the end of the month, probably Norwich.
  21. All aboard the Liverpool-Sky ****fest....
  22. If Wenger doesn't get his head out of the sand and realise they need a top level CB, CM and ST then they will continue to flatter to deceive.
  23. If he doesn't learn how to defend, we might as well play him at RW! Positive going forward, but all over the show at the back. Still got some bedding in to do though.
  24. Could have won it, could have lost it. Typical thrills and spills opening game, and a draw is a good result up at a rejuvenated Newcastle. The 2 area's which aren't quite right are the area's which we know we'll be fixing - CM and CB. Cedric looks frightening going forward, but an utter mess defensively - but I'm sure he'll get better. If Targett doesn't learn from this game then he won't go far, positionaly he was diabolical - needs to concentrate a lot more and, Newcastle preyed on his fragility most of the game. Overall, I'd say that was a positive start. Defensively we looked pretty ****, but we kind of all expected that - still work to be done in those area's. The attack looks very nice though, Mane is just pure brilliance. He should have won it, but his pure class got us those openings in the first place. He looks much better than he did last season already. Good to see the 'real' Tadic back as well, that cross for Long's goal was magic. Onto the next one...
  25. Wouldn't read too much into their side, Sunderland are just pathetically bad. You'd be having a bad day if you didn't score a few when they play like this.
