  1. It's the cutting inside aspect which all managers these days seem to prefer. You don't usually see wingers on their natural sides this days. I thought he made a positive change when he came on, wanting the ball, moving into space, gave us a bit of spark.
  2. Yeah, that's not what I was saying at all. Never mind.
  3. You cannot ignore the fact we were absolutely flaming atrocious for 45 mins. Koeman hasn't either going by his post match comments. We need to make sure we never drop to that level again.
  4. He wasn't much cop in the first half, but no one was really. But he's never been as bad as people have been saying. The 2nd half, as the space opened up, he was able to hold it up more effectively. Very pleased to see him score, that will hopefully be a huge weight off the lads shoulders. I've never thought he's a poor player.
  5. Who knows what could happen....it makes for a very interesting end of the season, that's for sure. I don't think we'll do it, I think City will edge away and the top 4 will be as it is. I just want us to be above Liverpool and Spurs, that would be amazing!!
  6. To me, if anything, it shows up what an utterly horrific manager Neil Warnock is. That was always a good Palace side, as Pulis showed in the previous season. What Warnock did to them is beyond me, but fair play to Pardew who has got the best out of their attacking 3 - their wing play is as good as any, that is their strength - and they play to it. Really pleased for Pards to be honest, the Newcastle job was a very hostile environment and it's nice to see him sticking 2 massive fingers up to that fat **** ashley.
  7. That was pretty **** in the main, to be honest. Result was probably a bit harsh on Hull. 2nd half was slightly better than the first half, but that wasn't hard. The first half was as bad and clueless as we've played in many a year, a long, long time since I've seen a saints team so disjointed, ragged, uneasy, nervy. It was just **** poor. But I said at half time, the only positive was that it was 0-0 and I'm sure that's what the players said at HT. I do want to give credit to Hull though, as I felt they came with a real game plan in the first half. They were tight, pressed very, very hard and were first to all the 50/50's - they played with a lot more energy and desire. But based on their first half effort, I felt they'd tire in the 2nd half...and they did, and once they did space started to open up a bit and we looked better for it. An amazing set of results today in all honesty, it couldn't have gone any better. 7th is pretty much done and dusted now, but 5th and 6th are well and truly on.
  8. More luck than anything, IMO. Kane was flogged around in the summer in part exchange deals, as they couldn't afford outright transfer fee's.
  9. To be honest, I didn't think he was as good as he's shown, his development has shocked everyone - but MP stuck with Soldado at the start of the season and Ade - and Kane was often in their 2nd string in Europe. I remember Spurs fans chanting at home games and even showing banners begging MP to play him in the league games, which he eventually did. Time will tell if this is a serious purple patch though. Players have had patches like this before in this league and then have vanished the following season. Next season is important for Kane, Spurs and MP - that's when everyone will be looking and judging on every single result.
  10. He was always a little like that for us, he had more of a stable season last year....but he'd always miss a few chunks of the season with niggles and injuries. I don't see Lallana as someone you can rely to be available all season, for 90 mins most weeks. He's not that sort of player.
  11. A lot of the Spurs fan's still aren't sure and I think next season will be the real tester for Poch. He's kind of steadied the ship after a poor start, but they still look set to end up with a lower points tally this season than they did under Sherwood last year. I think what people will expect is a overhaul if the squad, some of the players like Soldado, Paulinho etc all moved on - and once it's fully his team, we'll see how he deals with it all. I think it's fair to say that Harry Kane has probably saved their season this year though, and that was the same Harry Kane that Spurs fans had to beg MP to play. And Liverpool, well those media darlings can't do wrong. Apparently if they finish 5th/6th this year and win the FA Cup it's a season of progress. Is it, really? The one lesson they should learn from this season is not to let Brendan Rogers lose with their cheque book again. In the main, bar maybe 1 or 2 exceptions, his signings have been a complete mess since he joined them.
  12. Morgan has 2 years, Clyne has 1. So we have more power over Morgan than we do over Clyne, that's for sure. Should still be able to get a top fee for Morgan, but don't believe it will be high as some are anticipating (£35m+, no chance)
  13. lol. Luckily you post like this most weeks, and you're wrong most weeks.
  14. Every bloody time he does this, switches the blame - yet the media pander to it. He is a washed up dinosaur who is no longer good enough to manage at this level, he's old skool and the game has moved on. The amount of money he had, not just transfer fees - but wages, should have enabled him to put together a better team than he managed. It just seemed like the normal job of cobbling together a load of has-beens on huge wages, no imagination and no management really needed there. I still believe that with the likes of Isla, Taarbat, Austin, Vargas, Phillips etc they should be doing a lot better....but he couldn't get them playing at all. They look much better under Ramsey for what it's worth.
  15. I wouldn't have thought he'd be part of the full normal training if i'm honest. I reckon, what RK was referring to, was that he'd be back to some resemblance of ball training - albeit light. There's no way, after a year out, that he'd be able to do the same structure as the current squad. He'll probably get some U21 games over the next few weeks, and I think we could probably see him involved in the full training in about 3 or so weeks, and then another week of that until he plays.
  16. Shaw had about 4 years left on his contract. Clyne has 1. I wouldn't expect anymore than £15m tbh.
  17. That S-Clarke fella talks some sense.
  18. Ridiculous post. What do you want us to do exactly? Top 10 is pretty much where we are.....Top 6 is the aim, but anything other than that is a little too much - especially a sustained attempt. You may be following the wrong club as your expectations are completely skewed. I'm not entirely sure how a top 6 finish can be seen as false promise. For us, that is an amazing achievement. If we finish top 6 for the next 10 years, then sign me up for a 10 year season ticket thank you very much.
  19. I think he'll be loaned out next season. No idea if he's ready for the PL though.
  20. I don't think that's the case what so ever. Dujuric has actually come out with a quote along the lines that he expects to go back to benifca, as it's such an 'important' club. Whereas Gaston has never wanted out of here massively, he just doesn't suit this league full stop. Don't have a clue what Djuricic is all about to be honest. Not seen enough.
  21. Don't open that can of worms! For what it's worth, I think that is a place in it's own right - so it doesn't affect the country's current allocation. And WHU, top of the fair play league, what???
  22. I think they only brought it back once we had the electronic turnstiles in place (which still seem to confuse some people!!!!) - that way, if you haven't paid your card is disabled full stop.
  23. All this Pelle hate is a little bit tedious, and incredibly over the top. He is a good player, he wouldn't have already scored 12/13 goals as he has if he wasn't a good player. And poor players don't have the ability to score that overhead he did against QPR. He isn't a great player, but he's a good player. More than good enough for us. He's struggling with form, as a lot of top strikers do over the course of the season. The most important thing for me is that Koeman trusts him, he knows him better than any of us, so I judge his decisions over the whines on here.
  24. Epic game. Benteke was like a man possessed tonight.
