I doubt he really gives a ****, as it's only pre-season and it means nothing.

Sky Sources: New 5 Year Contract offered to Jay Rodriguez
S-Clarke replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
I must say though, all of this crap from a certain NC saying that 'the club is built on solid foundations so that it will prosper even without me' 'If the family do not support the plans, I have investors lined up', seems to be a load of waffle. If the players dreams are dashed by a chairman leaving, then his tenure was built on nothing but quicksand. -

Yeah, was rumoured that our friend Nixon would pen an article tonight. he has close connections with his family up in Burnley so you'd imagine it's very close to the truth. The fact the news of us offering him a 5 year deal became so public was a sign of the club trying to put the ball in Jay's court, but seemingly he's not going to commit to anything right now. -
First direct comments from Koeman that Vlarr is/could be a target. "Ron would definitely be an option," Koeman confirmed when asked about the Villa defender, "although I think he won't be cheap right now. Well, let's just wait and see."

Epic fail.

Saint Robbie has always been somewhat of an emotional wreck on here.

Doesn't seem as Spurs are that bothered about new signings this summer. Don't think they have any money tbh. When asked about incomings to White Hart Lane, he said: "Not many. We have a very good and big squad. Last summer the club made a big effort during the window and I believe in these players. We are always looking to improve but we don't expect big change." Speaking ahead of Spurs' first pre-season game against Seattle on Saturday night, the former Southampton boss said his initial task is to establish a playing philosophy at the club. "It's a different club to Southampton. Tottenham is a bigger club and we need to win, but not only win, we need to create a good philosophy. Our philosophy is exciting football, pressing attacking football. "This is our target for the moment. During the season the targets will come."

Andy Robinson has left Bolton are failing to settle. One academy graduates career which isn't gong too well!

Wasn't Redknapp sacked? The only key player I can remember them losing was Modric for £35m, their other transfers were just squad players going. The fact is that's what happening to us is unprecedented in top flight football, we just need some signings of high quality - that's the only way to salvage this situation now.

I must admit, it's a bit frustrating that we're not in there for this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2697756/Romelu-Lukaku-rejoin-Everton-permanent-deal-48-hours.html

I think you need to quote yourself and disagree with your own point, just to balance it out a bit. It's not like anyone has done that before.

Can't really make a call at the mo, tbh. Not until we've added a squad. (or worked out who else is to leave...!!) If it's as it is though, probably relegation battle all year - and if we do get bad injuries, then undoubtedly we'd be relegated. But that won't happen because we will buy before the season! Other teams....Liverpool will have a battle on to finish top 5, I feel. They lost their ''difference'' player, now they're just average. (Any team with Flanagan and Johnson as full backs will let in lots of goals). I expect Man Utd to be right up there, a long with Chelsea, Arsenal and City - I've got a sneaky feeling Chelsea will win it this year though.

You need a squad, and you will not find a better squad experienced CM anywhere. He's a terrific squad player and it would be ludicrous to get rid of him, utterly moronic. -
what the **** did I just watch.
-
Not entirely sure what Burnley's transfer policy is all about. Fill the squad up with utter dross?? They seem to be going on the basis that Palace didn't go out and buy lots of foreigners and they stayed up. Yep, but they bought proven players....Ledley's, Dann, Puncheon, etc etc. They're just buying average NPC players. Bizarre.

Gone past caring about getting anything back for the ****. Just make sure he doesn't drain our wage bill any more is what I say.

He has recovered, fully. He's just got to get his fitness back now, and build up the muscle tissues around the knee. That's it. His knee injury recovered and healed fine. -
True. I'm frustrated with Gaston personally, but there's something in there that is hard to just write off. Got no issues with sacking off Osvaldo and getting no money, but would be keen to see how Gaston responds. Probably his last chance, if he fails to make an impact this year then he's probably got no future here.
-
Apparently not from what I was told today. The club have no idea where he is as he's not responding to them, they're having to go via the agent. Personally I'd sack him for breach of contract and have done with it. Utterly horrendous human being.

I see Alpine is out on his own once again,
-
I know people will say ''Well, Zidane smoked'' - yeah, but he did it on the pitch. He could do what he wanted....because he was spectacular at his job. Jack has fitness problems, injury problems and form problems. Surely he should be spending time training and keeping himself in top shape? That's what annoys me when I see him acting like that. He could have been a great player, but will now put into the same bracket as ''could have been good, but never made it''. Utter waste of a player.

It's an interesting tactic, I can't remember seeing a new contract leak into the media like this before? New contracts with us are announced on our OS - that's when we know about it. Seems a tactic used to put the ball in Jay's court, the club have clearly been forced to act upon significant interest. His rehabilitation is going much better than expected fwiw, should be back October time.
