He's heard it's on for £7.5m and that his and Lallana's deals will be wrapped up sooner rather than later. It will be around £25m for the pair which is fair value in my eyes and helps Southampton dodge a bit of the money they owe Bournemouth for Adam's sale. The deal for Reed will not be complete until he is back from England under 19s duty. £3m plus heavy incentives based on appearances, trophies and international caps (which he will get)

That was a good interview and it does help us, as fans, see where they want to take the club. BUT....it's still talk at this stage, I'm still waiting to see some proper actions! I think we are a great pick for any manager, it's such an attractive job for someone - so let's hope they get the right one, and based on what he said in terms of the high profile nature of the candidates....I think most of us would be disappointed if it's now a Poyet/Lennon level manager. It was clearly a target, no matter how far fetched it seemed. Obviously the finance stopped it from happening, but the ambition was there - and everyone latched onto it within the club, and as they say....reach for the stars....if you don't quite make it, then it's not too bad a result either. but if you just stay as you are, you will probably start slipping down.

I think we need to keep hold of Lallana, the rest will kind of link together then. Hell, I said the same about MP and he went. Who knows. The club don't, that's for sure.

He wants to manage in the CL, but he'll have to go via the Europa league first - Spurs is a good fit to get him there if we're honest. More of a chance than he'd have here.
