Yeah. To be fair, MP said he wants them in before deadline day. So we'll see it either today or tomorrow.
-
In the first half he pulled their CB's all over the place, which opened up plenty of space. The only criticism I have is that he's not quite refined in terms of his touch, and there were situations last night where he could have done a lot better in terms of holding it up, passing it on...scoring..! but that's not really a big issue as he's only 18 and it will come. But he's got the attributes, if he continues with the coaches he'll be an able PL striker.
-
To be fair, if he had regular goals and assists in his locker....he'd be up there with Iniesta and Xavi and wouldn't be at Southampton! It's not really a weakness I'd say, but it's a lack of his game which increases our chance of keeping hold of him!
-
Clyne seems to have replaced Lambo as your poster boy..!
-
to be fair, he is coming back from injury..! But by that time we'd pinned them back, so they didn't have much of the ball. Shows how well we played really!

Birmingham City are in talks to sign former Southampton defender Aaron Martin, Sky Sports understands. Martin was released by Southampton yesterday and Birmingham are interested in taking him on.
-
I think they're very similar in aspects of their game, but Clyne does him for pace, and that is an attacking outlet which we do miss when Clyne isn't around. It's a really tough call, because both of these guys are top, top draw. We've got a situation whereby we can tailor for the opposition now.
-
But still, he's proven class. (And he's only recently turned 30!) I Imagine both deals will be of the loan variety too.
-
I think a lot of it is because of the tempo of which we played, it was relentless at times and was incredibly entertaining to watch. Also I have to say that the amount of Southampton academy players on the pitch left me feeling a great sense of pride (including Chamberlain in that too)
-
Will be more than happy with that, he's another player who I'd put in the 'champions league' quality bracket. We'd get the better of that deal, I think.
-
Wouldn't disagree with that, would be interesting to see how Sam gets on with a 2nd go. But based on our first half, you really wouldn't change a thing for the next game. It was beyond perfection.

It could be a World Cup of Saints. Gaston Lallana, Shaw Lovren Yoshida Morgan.....I wouldn't be surprised, I don't think he's far away. And if we get either Luis or Vela, then they'll be part of their nations team as well. Osvaldo possibly could be included, as he's only going to be on loan I reckon.
-
Does anyone know if Markus's seat is still left empty? or is that where KL now sits? (i sit in the kingsland, so can't really see) I remember when NC was around, he always used to leave ML's seat empty next to him (it has a plaque on I think)
-
Goodbye Osvaldo...and hello....Eder?
-
The whispers are that he will be included in the upcoming friendlies. They wanted to include him in the previous 2 games, but the U21's had some competitive games which took priority which is why he stayed with the u21s
-
Always going to be the way, but in my eyes we didn't let them play. We tactically owned their midfield today and killed the influence of Ozil/Cazorlla on the pattern of the game. It allowed Morgan, Cork and Davis to just dominate.
-
I don't think he's had a thread this season....but he's been quality in my opinion. People will question why Clyne is not playing, and it's not because Clyne is poor....it's because Chambers has taken the opportunity and has nailed that RB spot as his own. He was brilliant again tonight, he has some really nice skills too in an attacking aspect, which you don't expect! It's also very easy to forget that he's, again, only 18. Plays way above that age with his maturity. Have we ever been in a situation whereby we've had 2 right backs of this level competing for the first team?
-
Cheers! Things are turning!
-
Stick Ozil on his back and you wouldn't question it, he was at that level with his touch/technique and movement. An absolute shoe-in for the world cup, no question. Reckon his place is already nailed.
-
Nothing to really question, Chambers owns the RB spot at the moment. It's not to say Clyne is crap, but Chambers took his chance and has been simply brilliant. Easy to forget he's just 18 too.

We're in a good place at the moment, performance levels have picked up significantly and we are back to the side which shocked teams at the start of the year. Maybe we're not quite getting the results we should have, but all we have to do is continue as we have been doing and it will turn. Fulham's defence is utterly, utterly, utterly dog ****e. As long as we're solid, we should cause them all sorts of issues. Maybe we'll have a debutant too...
-
Exquisite performance, bar a 30 min spell where they upped the tempo significantly, we were magnificent. We still lack the killer touch in and around the area (on tonight's showing, Sam isn't quite ready). And we're prone to making real sloppy errors at the back.....(bloody Yoshida, giving me heart attacks!) But generally, that was as well as we've played for months. We were on the front foot from the off and we didn't let them into the match at all in that first half, it was pure brilliance from us. You can say Arsenal were poor, but they had some class out there tonight and we tactically shut them out for the majority of that game. Morgan, as he always seems to be against Arsenal, was magnificent. Cork was also quality, and Davis did his usual harrying/hustling and niggling game in the support area of the midfield. We won that midfield battle without a doubt. I'd have to give MOTM to Shaw tonight though, that's why the big clubs want him. It was bale-esque at times how the game kept coming down the left hand side, and he seems to be seriously bulking up - which is ominous for everyone. A pure class act. On the note of Sam....very clever movement, does all the right things, but was lacking that final bit of quality today. His touch wasn't great and that chance he had was a pretty poor miss, overall he's a good prospect...but not someone who is ready to be thrown in as yet in my opinion. Attribute wise he's quite handy though. Overall, we were class. Lots and lots to be positive about. We really seem to be picking up some form again after our tricky December period. Onwards and upwards...
