  1. Ahhh, it's like the good old days of Paul Allen and yacht watching. Who's heading down the Solent to see what big yachts come in tomorrow then?
  2. They're much better today than they were against us.
  3. 2-0 to Villa. They have been terrific.
  4. Fully deserved lead for Villa at Liverpool. They've been terrific today so far. Liverpool have been pathetically bad though.
  5. It's hard to say, but it looks as if when he made a swing to try and win the ball whilst on the ground, his leg took full impact up against their striker. But going by recent reports, it's hopefully more of an impact injury than anything else.
  6. Latest is that Lovren isn't as bad as feared, didn't need an xray and didn't go to hospital. Gaston has gone to hospital and is waiting for an X-ray.
  7. Good news regarding Lovren, let's hope those shin pads did their job..!
  8. Cue the ''We need puncheon back'' threads

    Well

Yeah, way too much is up in the air to assume we're setting up anything for next season, yet. Personally, I think it will be a summer of complete upheaval and next season won't be as good as a result, that's why I want us to make the most of this year and finish as strong as we can.

    Well

Why would we be paying anyone 90k a week??? Don't think anyone has suggested that sort of outlay. but by that same logic, should we pay a little extra to ensure we don't drop 2 or 3 places and out of the top half? All very possible.

    Well

Mental, he isn't worth anywhere near that. What a joke.

    Well

Would be a bit of a wimpy to end the season though, after such promise.

    Well

I think we'll find out the owners real intentions this month, through the appointment of a chairman and potential movement in the transfer market. The last thing I want is for this season to peter out, but if we have to play with either Jos or Yoshida at the back for a prolonged period of time, then we won't do that well. I didn't think we'd make any moves, but you have to wonder if these injuries will really force our hand a bit. I also think we could do with a tad more fire power. Our 'out and out' strikers this year haven't done it for us for whatever reason. Jay's return has been terrific, but I don't see him as our out and out striker and he's still a little cold in terms of some of his finishing. At least Wanyama is back soon though, we really miss that strength in front of the back 4.
  14. Yeah, it has been really slow for the last couple of days for some reason.
  15. I'm not one of those saying he's finished, leave them to it. Personally, I think he's carrying an injury. He's lost a lot of mobility in a short space of time. Not the same since the england call up, and the injury he suffered with them.
  16. Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino: "The ugliest side of the game was the injuries. We hope they are okay, both are heading to hospital. "In this game nothing is over until it is over. We were unlucky. In the first half we played fantastically well and deserved a third or a fourth. With the second half and the support of their fans they pushed ahead and got the equaliser. I think we deserved to win the game "The players have had a really difficult week, I want to congratulate them in light of what has happened this week. They put in an amazing effort. "In football there are no guarantees, you depend on the results it will be a decision from the people above to decide whether I should be here. It is not me who decides when we meet, it should be the chairwoman who decides. We have not had a chance to speak about next season so I don't know (about his future) yet."
  17. Not at all. His touch was poor, he didn't hold the ball up, his passing was poor, he was falling over the ball when trying to pass it.....all that happened in the 2nd half. He was poor in the 2nd half, there's no point trying to dress that up as anything else. He was poor.
  18. You never know, this could be the moment whereby he realises that he's staying here, he's not going to get a move for the foreseeable now. He can now get his head down and rehabilitate, and get himself back in the side next year to make a difference, if he's got the right attitude it could be like a fresh chance for him here after he recovers. He's not really had much luck here. At any time when it looks like he's about to make a breakthrough, something horrible happens to him. He started last season great for us, looked class, then he got that nasty dead leg injury and was out for what felt like months. Wasn't the same after that, lost a lot of fitness.
  19. Why do you hate Osvaldo exactly?
  20. He wasn't that bad today, he actually played advantage for Gaston and allowed him to continue the run. Brown did get the ball, but the follow through was awful. Don't want to watch it again as it was that nasty.
  21. Not sure about Lovren, but Ramirez did - was shown on BT Sport.
  22. It was a good run, real power and intent. He was opening the game up there for sure, I imagine the GK would have had to make some sort of save if he wasn't tackled.
  23. It looks like he may even be carrying some sort of injury, as he doesn't look mobile - and that can sometimes be mistaken for looking disinterested. We need another striker.
  24. Gaston really doesn't look good. The panic on the faces of the physio's said it all, and the fact that BT didn't replay the rest of that tackle due to the images. I think he's out of the world cup without question, doubt he'll be back for the start of next season. I feel so sorry for him, this was a period where at last he was starting to come on, do something, make a difference....and boom. He's had no luck here at all.
