Robbie Fowler @Robbie9Fowler Worst premier league team performance I've just seen... Absolutely shocking and I'm being kind, seriously fans who went should get refund
-
Yes, of course it would bloody well matter. I'm shocked at the general attitude towards potential relegation. It would set us back years. People are assuming that we will bounce back up. People need to wake up and realise that the team we had out tonight, is probably the team that would represent us in the championship should we go down. We would lose players such as Adam, probably Rickie, obviously Gaston, Clyne...basically, anyone half decent would leave. We'd be left with a shell of a side with no momentum and losing habit. I'm of the opinion that we must stay up this year. With the massive payment we get as a PL club next year, football will change again and it will be even harder to get back and establish ourselves.

That's a fair point MLG.
-
He's quite clearly a skate.
-
Of who? QPR? Reading?
-
I want to see my football club win. All we're doing this year is losing, so excuse me for seeing this game as a winnable one to boost our morale.
-
oh my word, they are worse than us at the back.
-
He's one of the players on his way out IMO.
-
I think it's fair to say that Reading are as bad as us, if not worse, at the back..!
-
Arsenal have won it, holy jesus

How many tactical mistakes is Adkins allowed? (Part 2)
S-Clarke replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
To be fair to Mayuka, it sounds like he was hung out to dry tonight. Left up top all on his own, fed long balls all night, and was offered no support by the horrific SDR and ineffective Lee. -
Summary of Nigel's Post-Match interview after Leeds
S-Clarke replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
The chairman will decide what is right for the football club Our relationship (NA and NC) has to be right and correct We need stability but cannot keep losing games like that We must address issues for the sake of Southampton Football Club and the supporters who have always been superb to me All I want is the best for Southampton Football Club Those are the key points for me from tonight. An amicable parting of ways isn't too far away IMO. -
almost 6-5, brilliant.

what the f... Reading 5 - 5 Arsenal

Realistically how many points do Saints need by New Years Day
S-Clarke replied to Miltonroader07's topic in The Saints
35 points feels like a lifetime away. -
Sounds like he's had it with a few players. I don't think it's too hard to say which players either.

Tonight is a fine example that it will not be easy to ''boing boing''.
-
I bloody well hope resting 11 is going to be worth it. I just want us to show some fight....which to our credit, we did in the 2nd half against Spurs - but it doesn't hide away from the abject 1st half.
-
Out of control, skidding all over the place...!
-
But blackpool got relegated that season. I don't want us to be relegated. And to be fair, they gave it a much better crack at the start than we have.

But that's ignoring the main issue here. Its' another game with a big fat red L against it. Another loss Another 3 goals. Another failure to win away from home. The league is important, but it's not like we now go back to a strong position in the league. All the problems we demonstrated tonight, are the problems we've demonstrated in the PL as well. I don't know what's gone wrong, but something has. It's not easy to ignore it anymore. -
I think the bus got to the top of a big hill, and is currently sliding back down that hill at a pretty fast rate.

That's kind of like sticking your head in the sand and going ''LALALALLALALA'' though, isn't it? I love NA, I think he's been terrific for us and can't thank him enough for getting us back where we are. But I want to stay here. I want a club that's as competitive as it came be at this level, and if we need to change our manager to achieve it, then so be it. As it stands Nigel is showing that he's not quite at hte level tactically against PL managers, he's made a few clangers, and has tried to change things in the summer which didn't really need to be changed. I want him to go out whilst it's not such a bad situation, rather than seeing him go out being heckled by fans. Which is what will happen if we continue to lose. -
If we're honest, it seems as if the longer he clings on, the worst the reaction to him is going to become.
-
True, I guess we've got another 6 months of it yet.
