Nah, 6 days as in 6 working days. Only days the FA's offices are open to confirm the deal and any international clearance!
-
It's been the case all along. Sit back and watch it unfold. 6 days to go.
-
The article on sky, It just a nonsensical reason for a transfer to fail - It would, however, appear as though they have been unable to complete a notable capture, with financial troubles at Bologna posing a problem. Well, any money from us would ease those troubles somewhat.....Bizarre stalemate situation!
-
Alex Crook, Southampton reporter for SSN: "For those asking i am confident #saintsfc will sign Ramirez. Think agent quotes saying deal is dead is an attempt to panic Bologna"
-
Is this thread trying to rival the pompey takeover saga or something? Basically, nothing has happened today. Not sure if that's good or bad.
-
Spot on. We're clearly sat on our arses doing nothing. We see no point in buying new players. Why waste the money? I think Cortese is too interested in fitting out the board room at the mo, that's the priority.
-
I doubt that's the case, but I won't let it stop you going on your meltdown.
-
I just cannot see Bolonga passing up the possibility of getting money, no matter how small. They need finance, that's clear. Gaston may receive an awful injury and then that's that - possibility of not getting close to what we offered. Are they in a position to pass the finance up completely? I'm not sure myself. As I've held out from the word go, I think they'll keep this going as long as they can until the point that they have no choice.
-
I still think it's a game of brinkmanship. Bolonga will hold out until they can, up to which point they will then accept this is better than nothing at all. Now, if we're still interested when they come back is another thing all together.
-
lol, so basically this morning we have gone from ''It's going to happen, just a loan to sort'' to ''It's too complex, bolonga aren't getting enough money, deal off''. I think it's safe to say I'm not taking it for granted either way at the mo. But I do feel the Italian sources are being fed this info for some reason.
-
Italian football is screwed in all. but to be honest, it will be difficult for them to get a loan. They may be forced to accept what we offer. Better than nothing
-
So all Bolonga need are guarantees that we would meet our repayments, so that they will be allowed to take out a loan. Think of it from our point of view. If we went to take out a loan, but we had no income, they would tell us to do one. But if we said we'd be getting money in x amount of time, they'd want guarantee before they produce the loan. Once they get the guarantee the loan will be produced. Maybe it's difficult to put a guarantee in future payments though, but I'd have thought the PL TV deal is pretty nailed on in terms of what we'll receive in say 6 months, 12 months etc.
-
As has always been the case.
-
Basically, they're financially screwed in simple terms. The money from this deal will help them a hell of a lot. So instead of us paying them up front, they are getting a loan against our agreed fee - which they'd then pay back in pattern with our installments.
-
Possibly. But people are forgetting that bologna officials had that match fixing trial to attend yesterday, which may explain why there were so many rehashed reports and nothing really changed. May pick up again today, although I still expect it to drag on

Lack of "real"information re transfers from club!
S-Clarke replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
They aren't going to comment on rumour. That's all it is at the moment. To be honest I felt Nigel was kind of open about it all on Friday, more so than previously. But at the end of the day they're not going to comment to appease fans when in fact it could have the opposite effect. We kind of all know where it stands at the moment, so until the club have anything concrete and official they would be silly saying anything, which could potentially rile the selling club even more -
Nothing new, that's just a random spanish twitter rumour feed. Just feeding of tabloid stories.
-
Let me just rehash this again to bring it back to topic. State of play as I see it.
-
I don't know about that, It's just weird.
-
Someone has already lifted your first sentence Charlie, and posted it as fact in the Gaston Ramirez thread.
-
This is turning into a truly bizarre thread now.
