I'd be surprised if he stays now to be honest, I think Bolonga want the $$$ and they're trying to see all their options before making a call. At least we haven't got to sit here for weeks and weeks though, ti needs to be done in the next 8 working days.

I'm still pretty hopeful though as it's so far down the line. Gaston wants to sign for us, we've sold the entire vision to him and he absolutely loves it - we've basically told him that he will be the main man and take us to where we want (not sure how the other players will react to that though!). Bolonga are just trying to get the best they can for their best player, which is fair enough. I think they'll realise soon enough that other teams won't offer more than what we've offered. and in all honesty, both seem to have shifted. LFC have signed another winger, and Spurs have come out and said they don't want him - although that could be a typical ''I don't want him, but actually i really do'' type of transfer-esque comment!

Bolonga are basically trying to mess us about, simple as that. If we have the patience to hold out who knows. They've changed the goal posts, when everything was pretty much agreed before he blabbed. There is still nothing decided from what I've been told. They're now trying to create an auction as they aren't getting what they want out of us. It may be that they realise this is thee best they'll get and finish it up there and then, but this will drag now IMO. I thought it would be decided tonight..!

This is such a huge deal to close in terms of the ''vision''. It will change this club for years if we pull it off. Not just his influence, but the domino effect it will have.

I will add a little more to that. I've heard we've been wining and dining him for the last week, I was told by the guy who told me this was serious on Thursday, that he was in a ''grand'' Southampton hotel. So I assumed the De Vere, but possibly not. He's been in Southampton anyway, he may have popped back to Italy, no idea - but the club is giving him the full works in terms of making him feel a king. I wonder if we made another DVD with him superimposed on the video....?

If there was a problem with our finances we wouldn't even bother going in for someome like Gaston. I can assure you that almost every single transfer is now done in installments. Chelsea will not pay Lens 33m for Hazard up front, there will be a spread of payments - similar with Van Persie. That's how it's done because it's sensible financial management, rather than splash all this years budget on 1 player - you push it out over 2 transfer windows. (or even more)

Wigan will likely be without Maloney and Moses (who is set to Join chelski this week). They're not a direct side, never have been. They're neat and tidy through the middle, they have some good Cm's there, but are incredibly blunt up front - and will be even more so without those 2 above. I think Ramis got a rude awakening today...but he's not a bad CB by any means. I think, and hope, we play with the same intensity as we did for periods in the 2nd half today, if we do that I don't think Wigan will contain us for 90mins. That's my honest opinion.
