Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition

To be fair he wasn't asked directly. The reporter asked directly about GK and CB and he gave direct answers on those. I'd be very surprised if he wasn't looking for a right winger, that was a real weak area for us last year in terms of consistancy. It chopped and changed so much and none of our players had prolonged impacts in that positon. -
And a gem from one of our lot [h=4]phil says July 17, 2012 3:55pm[/h] Am i really reading right a force like Swansea and norwich.2 team that will struggle near the bottom with us.We now have loads of kids and very little prem experience. We need to stop signing for the futre and start signing for now.
-
Yeah I saw some of those. ''Why sign for them, you'll be playing in the NPC again next year''. Just ignorant fans really, and the comments also go to show what a great signing it is for us as a hell of alot of other fans wanted him at their club. I'd go as far to say this is a bit of 'coup.'

Good player, I think Evertons priority is Piennar though. We do need a RM though, I'd imagine he's on our list, but I think Blackpool want silly money for him or Ince. -
He can play on the flanks, but is primarily a striker. Can also play 'in the hole'. He's a little technical gem tbh, one to watch.
-
bugger, now I've done it.
-
As I said, if we wanted him and he's available for £1.5m then we'd have got him by now, IMO. There's obviously reasons as to why we didn't pursue this, but I trust the guys behind the scenes as they know a hell of a lot more about potential additions than we ever will tbh.

The world has ended.
-
There's a little tiny thread over in the lounge which covers all this, and more. (Just to add a little more angst to this, they've also taken over Gillett, Doncaster couldn't keep him when it became clear what he 'could'' earn at Portsmouth - sickening)
-
He is quite a comedy character tbh.
-
I've got nothing to hide, doubt he'd care much either! Anthony Smith, part of the sports desk @ one of Readings local papers. Poss the chronicle, not 100% sure. But that's probably all I'll be in the know on this year...!
-
Don't stress yourself over him, he's just on a wind up. Not worth replying to.
-
I'd feel so sorry for Gillingham if we fobbed them off with Forecast, who is barley Blue Square south standard. I think we'll end up getting this kid without the next few days, and then the immediate GK issue is sorted. We may get another in august if Forecast does go, but I think getting 1 GK in was priority - 2 is a bonus.

Surprised so many fed Dalek, quite clearly a windup merchant looking for bits. Not worth stressing yourselves over, he knows he's being stupid! Readings business is 'Ok' - nothing special. They've added a decent striker, a solid CM and a couple of solid championship defenders. If given the choice of Gunter or Clyne, i'd prefer Clyne because of his pace and ability on the ball - much better technical player. Jay Rodriguez or Pavel - you'd have to say Pavel as the PL experience and after his fulham stint he has the eye for premier league goals, but in Jay Rod we have signed talent and potential. I'm absolutely convinced that this kid will play for England, absolutely convinced. I think he's going to be that good. Steve Davis or Guthrie....Steve Davis everyday. Guthrie isn't bad, but pretty average - nothing special tbh. We've so far had an excellent window, we still have areas that are standing out as being very thin, but that will be addressed so don't fret yourselves over it. -
To be honest I'm inclined to believe that if we really wanted him, and he's available at 1.5m, then we'd have him by now. We are pretty well stocked in CM now, if you include Hammond, Chaplow, Cork, Morgan and Davis. I think all 5 will play a part, so adding another is prob overkill considering positions like CB and GK are a higher priority.
-
Very positive news. Looks like (as i was told) that Gunter is going to Reading as they were too late to get Clyne, as they tried to hijack it yesterday (hence the little delay). So please can I be added to the list of ITK posters???

but do you have any snippets? -
Christ, yep, that same pre-match medley has been there since 2006 , not really changed much anyway. I don't know if we'll have that as much next season, as it's a requirement for all teams to come out and 'line up'' to the premier league anthem, so we may see some changes anyway.

I'd be pretty confident in getting Lallana's shirt as he'll keep 20, Lambo will keep 7 for sure and I believe Rodriguez has taken over number 9 from Barnard.
