  1. My favorite Delgado moment was the Strachan interview where he was more concerned about the yoghurt in his frigde that was about to expire, than Delgado's injury problems... That is a pretty good contribution in my book! 😄
  2. There is to sides to this. If the medical team is concerned about a potential injury, then fair enough, but if it is to keep players fresh, then it should only be the managers decision if they play or not. Sadly, in our case we only have a head coach, so not really sure what he is allowed to do...
  3. A goal off the arse is still a goal 😉
  4. But they won't hire football people, will they? Someone on the first interview saying, "I want to do things old school, I value experience and tired and tested methods, and no tippy tappy at the back". He wold be out the door 5 min into the interview. They will only hire someone who will have the same ideas they have
  5. This. Love how this hungry eyed boy wonder has worked out how poor we have been with both of them out of the side, that he now only risks playing one at the time… Forgetting that we need threats in multiple positions to not be so predictable and easy to play against.
  6. I agree, and I would have hoped for an experienced GK, but this is SR we are talking about, so I guess I have to be content with the fact that they have identified this position as one that needs strengthening…
  7. Love how you conveniently left out the following under playing style and strengths: Strong shot-stopping: Fundamentally sound, quick reflexes, performed well in limited Bayern outings (e.g., solid in Pokal and UCL cameos). Commanding presence: Brave in the box, good mentality under pressure. Athletic: Decent height and agility for 1v1s and crosses. Proven at lower levels: Excellent record at Maccabi (44 clean sheets in 101 games) and Israel NT.
  8. He is head coach, so he is in charge of the other coaches, and training, the rest is by commitee.
  9. Seeing as Baz kept a clean sheet and made a save today, we have probably cancelled this last minute...
  10. Well, he did actually learn the word "conundrum" from Blackmore in the same interview, so that might be it 😄
  11. Well, Tonda has told us that he wants to win every game, and he is not wedded to a back 5, so I guess we just write this one off as a bad day at the office, or bad luck or whatever...
  12. Need more CB's... Jander dropping deep to help out, and even Azaz coming to help pass the ball at the back
  13. Love how Manning ran straight for the sideline, where there were no players, not back towards a Millwall player, or in towards the middle to help out... no he ran right for the sideline... Ran himself straight out of play.
  14. I think the passing skills of Scmeichel is a bit harsh on Baz, but the goalkeeping skills of Pirlo is about right…
  15. Sadly, we need new owners for that to happen...
  16. Absolutely, but that does not relieve him of his duties as our last line of defence.
  17. Was thinking the same. Proud, so proud...
  18. If he had the seat in front of me, I'd never expect him to be where he is supposed to anyways
  19. You mean where Long should be. Bazunu should be in the stands (at best)...
  20. I disagree. I believe playing with 3 or 5 at the back demands more of our shit defenders (and wing-backs). None of our lot is up to the task. We play with three sweepers, out of position, marking thin air most of the time. I do agree with you that when it was working, it gave us the benefit of playing our best attackers, but that little bonus has stopped working, so I think we would be better off switching between a 4231 and a 433 depending on the game and opposition.
  21. Can only speak for myself, but it is because I hold SR in such low regard. In my eyes they keep making the same mistakes over and over. Most football related decisions they make are either wrong or poor, at best. I don’t think they are deliberately trying to fuck up, because they genuinely believe in what they are doing, which is the real problem. Every time they make a change, we somehow end up back at the exactly same place, or worse.
  22. How much did those spells have to do with playing 3 at the back, though? When it was good, our right wing-back was an out and out winger, playing as a winger. When he has been pegged back, or replaced by Fraser and we play with a more classic wing-back role, it has looked pretty shit… When it has looked good, our formation has resembled a 4231, and when it looks shit, it has resembled a 523.
  23. I wonder if Stephens has received his cap from the club yet…
