Just invite them to come watch our training.

The media being all over this is no surprise. They want controversy, and they have little interest in talking about football. They gobble up shit like this. Players don’t care. This game is big enough as it is. Let’s do the job, and get back with a good result for the second leg!
-
I read that the wrong way at first, like you speaking to a wheelie bin, and now I can’t get the image of a man arguing with wheelie bin’s out of my head.
-
I agree, and that is partly why I think it will take until the end of the window, because he will be waiting for the best possible opportunity.
-
You should be his agent 😉

If this is the terms of the deal, that it will become permanent upon promotion (like THB), then this is great news indeed! My concern about the GK situation (Baz apart) is that I don't think we will be able to shift Ramsdale until the very end of the window/start of next season, and if we had to wait to sign Peretz until Ramsdale is off, then I think we would not be able to make that happen.
-
We were warned this would happen... 😉

Hope we can find a little spring in our step for the playoffs. Momentum seems to slowly be winding down. We have gone from comfortable wins, on to going behind and winning at the end, to draws (and a loss if you count City). A lot of players might need a rest, but I also think it would be important for us to win the last game before the playoffs, to reverse the momentum a little.
-
Fuck, that had never crossed my mind... If Peretz get an injury or suspension, can Baz actually play for us in the playoffs? (where is MLG when you need him)
-
I think he is on a lot of shortlists around Europe. I don't think he stays too long if we don't go up. https://the72.co.uk/2026/04/23/southampton-stuttgart-eye-tonda-eckert-hoeness-exit/

Yeah, going up is so important now if we want to build on this team and momentum. Fail in the playoffs and we lose half our starting eleven, and probably Tonda as well... next season in the Championship will be another restart.
-
All the feel-good factor, hope and belief wiped out in one fell swoop. I still sleep with a nightlight, fearing this 🥺
-
It could be the other way around. Tonda strikes me as someone who has fokus on one thing at a time (preparing for the next game), and he is the one waiting to see what division we are in next season. He knows that even if we go up, or not, he will still be in demand (sorry about that)
-
His ability to read won’t have anything to do with it, it will be because of his ability to catch a ball…
-
I would sign Larin for that amount. Stewart can’t be relied upon, sadly. We need someone better than them in the PL, and if that player loses form, gets injured or suspended for a little while, Stewart can’t play 90 minutes in multiple matches.
-
I agree that he probably needed time, as in that game against Norwich, he was bullied off the ball every time a player came near him. Yes, he scored a cracker, and he looked useful in between the lines playing one-twos, but he did not look physically fit to play in the Championship. When he finally came back in he looked better, both in terms of the pace of the game and the physical side of things.

Sorry to spoil it for you (I had a listen) and it was surprise, surprise - just the good times

Wasn't Klaus Augenthaler a defender? Maybe Karl-Heinz Rummenigge? I just remember them from the German teams in World Cups and Euros from 86 to 90, when I was a kid, so a little curious 🙂
-
Is that not how it normally works? Tonda has built up that trust over time, by making desicions along the way that not everybody agreed with, but has proven to be good desicions in hindsight? It's perfectly normal that we now give him the benefit of the doubt. If we lose tonight, there will be enough of us saying he fucked up the starting lineup afterwards 😉

15 years? Now that’s Jonno Quick!
-
I don’t really care how it looks up close, as I won’t be wearing it. I’m more interested in how it looks from a little distance. I guess I just want more red/stripes than the current design.
-
True. One of the sad parts of modern football as the big teams have a lot of money and no patience. Instead of young managers and players getting time to prove themselves over a couple of seasons at clubs like ours, it’s is less risk to take a punt early, and just bin the dude if he fails. Someone will probably take a chance on him in the summer or at the manager merry go round next season.

Being Norwegian I still think back to the pen we got against Brazil in WC98 and how my reaction was equal parts amazed and happy. The shirts back then were huge, and it stood out like a sail in the wind, but even back then I thought: these are never given, and certainly not against a bigger team. 30 years on (including VAR) and they still haven't really changed anything. If you are lucky, you might see one given once in a blue moon.
-
Giving a penalty for the pulling of shirts is not a common thing. Usually not given. The inconcistency with this rule is that they are given sometimes... I would like se them given more often, just to reduce the amount of pulling in the box, but that probably won't happen.
