  1. Yeah, and THEN Still will Revert to a back four...
  2. Deep down I know what you say make sense, but I will still (no pun, an accident I swear) rather be going out with your sister Maggie May NOT tonight 😉
  3. I agree with the start of your post if we are discussing the difference between a 4321, 433, 4231 or a 4222. A back five vs a back four changes so much more in my opinion. But I strongly dislike a back five, so I can never be rational. I even hated it when Koeman had a bit of a struggle, and changed to a back five for run of games to get our mojo back.
  4. Same as has been for years. Who is our main man? The guy who bails us out when we need it, or puts away the early chances in the game when we are on top and kills it. Even when we win, we are usually not clear winners (maybe a couple of times two years ago?)
  5. I destest football played with five at the back, so as long as he keeps doing this, I'll never really rate him. The three CB's usually means that one (or two) of them are not good enough. We keep chopping and changing, so whoever we play looks like a calamity waiting to happen. Find a good pairing in a back four and stick with them, that is always the key to building a team in my book. I have no idea what Will is trying to build... He keeps boasting about how the players are so much fitter than before, but every bloody manager who comes in to a new job says that. Doesn't mean shit. Maybe they can run longer, but there are no warriors out there, no fight. We were bullied today.
  6. There is no way we score today, I'll take a stroll out into the nice weather instead of this shit.
  7. I don't think Still sees "leading the line" the same way most of us do. To him it is more about pressing, having a good finisher inside the box when the chances come, and be able to break the lines with pace. Holding up the ball, being strong and good in the air are secondary skills and attributes. I do not agree with this, but there is no way Will looks at this role the same way most of us do, and continues to select Arma. Hei is neither blind nor stupid, and he has about the same understanding of football as most of us here😉
  8. As I took it. Still said it in an answer to if it is frustrating to move players out. I read it as maybe Aribo, or one of our players that we have lined up a move for, only for it to halt, because of an international manager saying the league we are selling to, is not of high enough standard. Then Blackmore brought up the Championship in his next question, Still did not say the Championship was a problem, he just agreed when Adam did his normal routine of answering his own questions before he asks them.
  9. I agree. One of the most satisfying things watching Saints, after winning, is watching talented players evolve and grow (for us). Sadly, as you start off with, not much of a chance. I am pretty convinced both will leave at the very end of the window. There will be noise every day untill the last few days of August, and then the real bids come that meets our vauluation, just before the window SLAMS shut, and leaves us scrambling, gambling and overpaying for their replacements...
  10. Take the point. Today, every sub made us weaker unfortunatly...
  11. Forgot that he started ok, just remember him being very poor, and then started to turn the corner at the end of the season, and sometime in the start of the second season he became a nailed on starter for me.
  12. Well said! I think he has had two bad misses, and he has not looked particularly good from what I’ve seen so far, but I am still interested to see how he develops and adapts. I thought Mane was poor most games in the first season. Must be OK to say so now that we know how he turned out.
  13. Tweaked it a little bit… as I fear the starting lineup will be something between what you posted and this: Bazunu; Bree, Stephens, Quarshire, Manning Charles, Fernandes Armstrong, Fraser, BBD Archer
  14. Based on that analogy, I thought you were going to suggest that Baz should quit and consider coaching 😉
  15. I prefer 4 at the back, but if we are without Downes, Fernades and Dibling next week, the 3-4-3 we played at the end might suit our remaining players better? Watching the game, it was a combination of things that led to the good spell last 30 min. We got dominated and overrun by Brighton before the subs and change of formation. Was it the players or the change of formation that made the difference? Or a combination? I do not think we would have changed the game simply by changing formation and not personell.
  16. Robinson makes it fun to watch football
  17. Don't know about injured, probably more "ill" like Fernandes...
  18. I hope you are right, and I have no problem with him playing if it is on merit. It's just too easy to fear the worst right now.
  19. While that part is true, the problem begins when he is being picked every game, not on merit, but because he is captain. Quarshie, THB, Wood and Edwards are all competing for the place next to Stephens.
  20. Or... did MLG do a joke?
  21. I just don’t agree with you. I think you are jumping to conclusions, even if your first post on the subject stated that there may just be a concern. Why the need to call me names? I joined in a discussion on a point it looked like you wanted to discuss. Anyways, I’ll leave it alone.
  22. I don’t think we even know that for sure, or how exactly we were turned down? Either way, that does not equal motivation issues if he does sign. You made that conclusion.
