  1. But people are not allowed opinions on this board Manji, if you don't happen to have subscribed to the same views of the majority of posters on here, pre administration, then people just villify you, and still do apparently.
  2. [/url] “We advised our advisers of this decision, and the basis of that decision, and they in turn made our stance known. Let me be clear that in publicly withdrawing our offer based on the conditions that I understood needing to be met, we did not, nor have lost our interest in the Club" Er, what? The conditions as he understood them were a 15 point deduction, not 10 which was understood to be the main sticking point, well, ok, that was after the right to appeal the 10 point deduction, which was the sticking point in the first instance. You know, the one that took them 3 weeks not to sort out. So if I understand correctly, it's something else entirely which caused them to er, advise their own advisors. Couldn't by any chance be a shortfall of, somewhere in the region of several million quid could it? Oh and whilst we're on the subject, of Mr Fialka, why is he always seemingly quoted in the Jewish Chronicle? Not that I'm dissing that rag by any means, but it's hardly mainstream is it. Could it be that with a limited circulation, he only looks like a complete ***t amongst his own?
  3. Er, yes, well I wasn't going to mention his interview on Monday which was also on the golf course, but then he wasn't negotiating, he was to be the new face of SFC to get the fans onside Fialka on the other hand can just fialka right off
  4. Which is interesting because I haven't seen any previous reference to extra points by either the administrator or anyone else for that matter. I really don't know who the bull****ters are here. I do think MLT has been let down badly by someone, and the chances are that Tony Lynam may have been too, or not as the case may be. As far as Pinnacle goes, they have long since come their duff and missed their bellies. Any further suggestion of this group being involved at any level with our club will be met by choruses of "**** off". Apart from MLT of course who is most welcome any time and who, imo, conducted himself with great dignity throughout the whole fiasco
  5. Not really he's in search of the 4th chord
  6. Think you're setting the bar a bit high there, Overmars no, Overseas, possibly:p
  7. Well I'm taking my laptop to work again today as I did the day before, but I haven't seen the SSN video from yesterday. I see a lot of people are dismissing the Pinnacle bid as a fiasco and I admit it is extremey worrying in the light of Mr Money man's apparent status but I won't condemn this until I know more. I have no contacts within the club and I'm too far away from the action to hear any info unless it's from here. I would have hoped that due diligence would involve checking the accounts of those involved to see that the funds were in place before entering the exclusivity period etc. If Fry has been taken for a ride then it doesn't show Begbies in a very good light at all. GM was voicing concerns about Pinnacle some weeks ago and got blasted for it by some on here, and I wonder about the old adage "no smoke without fire" (at least until Jacko's funeral anyway)
  8. Why should anyone actually care? The man was a publicity seeking bull****ter who looked like a complete ***t when despite his bluster and "you'll see tomorrow" talk, er, nothing actually happened. He's probably not able to reach tyre kicker status
  9. Andrew Cowen will not be coming back to the club again according to the last communication I had from him. He told me that his association with SFC had finally come to an end and he wished everyone all the best. Never say never of course, but he was desperately disappointed about the way things ended up.
  10. As long as people begin to respect that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and just because others may not agree with it, doesn't mean they have to treat that other person with contempt. I don't see the same lack of respect on Saintslist and there are people there who have the same opinions of our former major shareholders and chairmen as those on here, but they don't get labelled trolls, luvvies or any other derogatory term, it's only here that it seems to happen. That's what anonymity does.
  11. Well, my dad is a pretty well known local jazz musician in the south, and my mother was at one time a very well known blues singer, but as her health got worse, she couldn't sing any more and dad spent a lot of time nursing her and he curtailed his long distance gigs so that he could be nearby if she needed help. She died 4 years ago now, and when he rang me I said I would come up, but he said "I've got a gig tomorrow night" and I said "surely you aren't going to go ahead and play" and he said "what else can I do, I can't sit around feeling sorry for myself" so he just got on with it. It seemed strange at the time, but I see his point entirely, and I see no reason for the players to hide away. It's them that have to brave the public who might give them a right ear bashing. The players for the most part don't give a sh!t about the club or the fans anyway, many of those that helped to get us relegated won't be here next season anyway.
  12. It doesn't affect us in the least. In fact we had a curry after the Wolves game thanks very much for asking.
  13. What really disappoints me about you Alpine is that you don't know me from adam yet when you can't debate the issue, you just resort to petty insults. What a shame, I think it says a lot about you as a person and your intellect that you can sneer at people without having apparently read very much of what they have to say. For your info, I am not the only person condemning certain players for their lack of effort this season, I guess it would be so much better for you if Rupert Lowe played for Saints too. I am not your enemy, I'm just a fan with a slightly different viewpoint. Is that such a bad thing?
  14. Of course, the players have tried their hardest throughout the season and can remain blameless. Silly me.
  15. Of course it makes a difference though. If it didn't then Mark Fry wouldn't be considering appealing the league's decision. If you put yourself in their (Lowe/Wilde) position, and you believe your standpoint is cast iron, ie the club is not in admin, but the holding company is, then would you put the club into administration and suffer a 10 point penalty, guaranteeing relegation? If you believe the club could stay up, could avoid a 10 point penalty then would you not take that chance?
  16. But why do people antagonise police officers during public order incidents and expect velvet glove treatment? If people don't want to get thumped by the OB then don't go causing trouble in the first place. Our officers don't carry firearms and regularly face drunks being violent towards them and for some reason, people expect them to stand idly by whilst people kick ten bells out of them. This in now way condones the treatment of the guy that died during the G20 protest, but let's not forget that this type of protest attracts professional agitators who have one reason to be there, and it sure as hell ain't peaceful.
  17. Er, Heddlu is the Welsh word for "Police". Which of the 4 Welsh forces are you referring to?
  18. Bingo! Hindsight is wonderful, but Rupert is the only one that needs it. We could all see it was a huge risk to appoint JP/MW. The 500k that Swansea offered for Dyer might have helped too.
  19. It was done because they genuinely believed that the loophole in the FL rules meant that they shouldn't be deducted 10 points, and also because they genuinely believed that the club had a great chance of staying up, only to find that the players couldn't have given a toss either way.
  20. You have to bear in mind that Lowe did try to tell us how bad the situation was at the start of the season, he said it would be a long hard struggle but success could be achieved again if everyone pulled together (or words to that effect). The simple fact is that in many fans' eyes he had already burned his bridges and they weren't listening. Lowe was mightily criticised during his previous tenure for being too public. When he got together with Wilde many fans just dismissed anything they said as bullsh!t I might also add, that if you think Lowe and Wilde treated the fans as customers, then that particular trait was also employed by Hone and his cronies. Clubs have been over charging fans for years, particularly with respect to merchandise and in our case, match ticket prices. The club and bank did speak before the start of the season. The overdraft limit was £5 million, and the club had exceeded that by well over a million, and this was before the return of Lowe and Wilde. The bank was happy to throw money at the club before the credit crunch hit. When it hit, Lowe was advised to get that £6million plus back to under £4 million and had got within touching distance when Barclays pulled the rug from under the club. I was told that the decision to buy Schneiderlin was made because he was considered a top prospect and could be sold at a handsome profit. It seemed ludicrous to me to spend over a million on a kid when we needed experience not more youth. Lowe certainly made mistakes on his return, but I do think he was trying to do his best to turn the club around financially, but I do think that having succeeded in overtaking Branfoot as the club's major hate figure, he would have done better to leave well alone, but then again, that's easy for me to say, I only lost a couple of hundred quid on my shares
  21. I don't necessarily think the intention is what causes angst if you like, it's the people involved. The Trust had its chance to get the fan on the board and then got shafted by Hone and Oldknow. We were all taken in by Oldknow's spin to be honest. Having said that I get the feeling that Nick was trying to manoeuvre himself into a position of influence where fans and fans groups were concerned and I still feel that way. Call me a cynic if you like, but I get the impression that Nick is still trying to build an empire
  22. I seem to remember some lower division clubs going bust a few years back, but rebranding themselves and staying in their respective divisions. I have a feeling that Swindon and Orient might be 2 of them
  23. No I don't think that's necessarily true Bern, I think Fuller had a very dodgy start, but he did win the fans over by the end of the season. Delap was poor for us and Higgy was committed but seemed to play mainly at left back. He is just the kind of no nonsense John Smiths defender we could have done with all season.
  24. Well of course it might just be that he's away somewhere. He hasn't said he won't dip his hand in his pocket, but I wouldn't blame him for not doing so. On the subject of the £500K, yes, I have heard that was the amount that L and C took with them, but similar amounts were paid to Hone and his crew, but of course they didn't come back. The sad fact is that paid execs are entitled to a pay off. Yes, you can remind me of my alleged foot stamping regarding the EGM business. What did I say that made such an impression upon you? I don't recall me posting anything vitriolic to anyone, I just posted my thoughts in response to people who posted theirs, but again, as I remember, the bullies on S4E got their way and those who didn't agree with anyone remotely anti Lowe stopped posting apart from a few who stuck to their principles.
  25. Don't be a d!ck Alpine. I haven't decided that it's way beyond Luvvies etc and therefore that is final, it's just that in my opinion all this blame culture is a waste of time as we are where we are and now need to stop bickering and get behind the club. Okay, I may not be happy to put my hand in my pocket to fill a bucket, but I did spend a lot of dosh in the shop last week. People are entitled to make a valid point without being labelled one thing or another. I'm certainly not happy about this season, I wasn't happy at the appointment of the Dutch pair, nor the swingeing cuts that the team endured that left us playing a youth team week in week out. I think Sir Richard of Woolston will back me up that I voiced my displeasure before the start of the season too. The fact is that people wanted Lowe out, he has gone and now people are expecting that he should be baling the club out. If I had suffered the same abuse as Lowe I'd be telling people to shove it up their rear orifices. It's such a shame that you had to remind me why I rarely bother posting here any more, it's because small minded people do nothing but insult anyone with a differing view.
