I’ve just come back from there. They have zero interest in football. Ridiculous that they are about to host their second World Cup when the home of football has only had it once.

I’ve just come back from the USA. They have no interest in football at all, or the World Cup. How they get a second opportunity to host the tournament, whilst England, where the game started, has only had it once, is beyond me.

We may have well have bid for Messi rather than Gakpo in the Summer. Exactly the same percentage chance of that deal being completed. You can’t sign players who are 100% not interested in joining.

I love the way ‘pressing’ is seen as a new thing. Mentioned on here a lot, commentators talk about ‘the press’. Absolute load of bollocks. I would welcome us being a bit more direct. Our possession based game does little to put the opposition on the back foot. It’s too slow, and most of the time, too negative. I also think it allows some of our players to ‘cheat’ - often taking the easy option of a sideways/backwards pass instead of playing on the half-turn and trying to drive us forward. I hope he gets inside JWP’s head and gets him a more attacking mindset.

I wasn’t impressed with his footwork for the 3 goals that beat him to his left. Very slow, as if left is his weak side. He’s done ok though. He is young and still needs coaching. He has weak areas in his game and needs to work really hard on the training pitch.

I was pleased that we spent a few quid in the Summer. I am pleased that they got rid of the coaching staff. I am pleased that they have got rid of Ralph (albeit much later than I would have liked). They’ve spent time identifying who they want. Give them a chance and the new manager a chance. I don’t like they speed they’ve worked at, but at least they’ve made decisions now.

Apparently he was shit hot at Excel.

Ralph’s assistant has gone as well. That geezer with the laptop, so there is a space for a new assistant manager as well.

That is a great point regarding Howe and Burnley. I’m just looking forward to some more positive football, and no Ralph in charge any more. Writing Jones off before he starts is ridiculous. Good luck to him.
