Not for me. Get him straight in.
-
Call me stupid, but as long as he's match-fit, I would expect to see him playing on Saturday.
-
I stand by my opinion that he's not world class. It's all about opinions though.
-
He can't be that bothered about leaving. He hasn't even put a transfer request in yet. Decent player that he is, he isn't world class and can get roughed up a little too easily. I'm not bothered if he leaves now. Most important thing for me now is that he doesn't get any loyalty bonus for leaving. That would be insulting.
-
Exactly where I'm coming from. 1 or 2 Jonny Evans/Davis type signings.
-
Of course you're right. I'm saying that maybe we should sign a few established players, and wring the last few decent years they have left. Lawrie was a master of that, mixing them up with a conveyor belt of young talent who learnt so mch from the experienced pros. I get the impression that we buy players as commodities, with the end game always to be to sell them on for a handsome profit.
-
Great sentiment. But the club will continue to sell any talent if they're any good. If you added stop selling the club to potential signings as a stepping-stone I would wholeheartedly agree.
-
He's not as good as Maguire. Cracking player.
-
This situation will play out every year whilst we sell ourselves to players as the ultimate stepping-stone club. Maybe it's time to change our recruitment model. Personally, i wouldn't mind us signing a few proven players a little older. I would feel let down if we sold VVD after Ralph told us we weren't a selling club any more. The truth? Or more bluster to sell season tickets under false pretences? We'll find out soon enough.
-
He 'suggested' that we were no longer a selling club. Bullsh*t, the club would sell their nearest and dearest if the price was right.
-
I was told weeks ago that the club were happy to sell VVD. The man (VVD) is an absolute c*nt. But it is a bitter pill after the sh*t that has come out of Krueger's mouth.
-
I wouldn't even consider selling the c*nt until he puts a transfer request in.
-
Has Delph gone anywhere yet?
-
Definitely worth a gamble for that money. He is a quality footballer when fit.

I'm sick of people who probably can't kick a ball talking about false 10's, floating centre-backs, and some Carlos Kickaball nobody has ever heard of, but is a 20 on Football F*cking Manager. Football isn't complicated. Get the spine right, with a bit of pace down the wings, and you'll be alright. Sorry it's not trendy, but then I don't wear skinny jeans and I haven't got a beard down to my b*llocks.
-
All these people knocking Austin make me laugh. He knows how to put the ball in the onion bag. Simple. You can talk about your FM formations as much as you like. At the end of the day, all good sides have a mean horrible b@stard at the back, a midfielder who can tackle and run all day long, some pace down the lines, and someone who knows how to put the ball in the onion bag. It's a simple game sometimes made complicated.
-
Dfference is, you had a 4 week notice period in your contract. VVD doesn't, and was happy to sign it.
-
Every Premier League club has a 'black box'. We're not anything special in that regard.
-
How would you feel if no one left but we didn't sign anyone else?

Cheated. -
Very well reasoned post.

Keith Granger

The longer we don't press this issue with the FA, the more I think we'll sell him.

Exactly what I was thinking. Better to buy players who you know will improve your team, than settle for the lottery of Juanmi/ Gardos type signings. -
This does have a whiff of cheapskate Saints in my opinion. Still, might be a load of rubbish to be fair.

Backroom staff, all those in favour..Hands up for Sammy Lee

I got the impression that the few on here that supported Puel no matter what, blamed Black for anything bad, to deflect from Claude.
