I detest Hodgson. The cowardly way he snuck out of the back door after being beaten by Iceland was a disgrace. At least we won't have to worry about Benteke at corners. That footballing genius Roy will probably have him taking them. Hodgson is a jellyfish. Fingers crossed we change the team around on Saturday, give them a good beating, and watch them flounder at the bottom of the table for the rest of the season.

Total over-reaction on here. I would be loathe to call for the manager's head. He does have a bit of work in front of him though. Hope he knows by now that our forward play is wanting, Davis isn't a holding midfielder, JWP isn't there yet and Gabby is struggling on his own.

Drop the players who aren't doing it - Tadic, Redmond and JWP. Get VVD back for set-pieces. Resist playing Davis deep - he can't play there. We need to get back to Pochettino levels of fitness. I'll leave the formation to the manager. I would like to see Long in the side though. Gabby needs a bit of help up front.

Did Les sign Ramirez and Osvaldo? I don't think so. My post is far from delusional, he has done more good than bad. I am not hailing him as some sort of messiah.

Good post Prof. Les has done more good than bad for our club. Don't forget the financial pressures we have been under in recent years with the Staplewood overspend, and wasting money on the likes of Ramirez and Osvaldo.

Thought he did well against Swansea, and looks physically stronger than last season.

I don't know about anyone else, but I made myself a very nice omelette on Thursday and hit 1 or 2 decent shots at the driving range. Apart from that, not much else achieved.

Can't see how we can sell him now, so late in the window. Strenthened midfield and defence (assuming VVD stays). Not an horrendous window, could get better, could get worse.

I can understand the club are in a difficult position here, and I won't blame them for taking big money for VVD. But to not use the money to strengthen the team, and not replace VVD straight away, is a p!ss-take out of us fans.

It isn't pragmatic though. I wouldn't let him near the dressing room for a start. Will he give us 100% between now and January, he's proved he doesn't give a damn about the people who pay his wages. My ideal outcome would be that we sell VVD this week and buy a quality CB and a quality attacker with the money. Then i I would like VVD to have a severe loss of form, and hopefully some sort of career-ending injury in a couple of years after he's slipped down the leagues and is turning out for Eastleigh whilst having to suck tramps off in parks for 10p a go to make his money up.

Probably the best outcome now for me. Part of me would still like to see the cockroach rot, but for the good of the team we should sell him. Not to Liverpool though, and only if we use the money to strengthen the first 11 before the end of the window, and I'm not talking about loans.

There's still balance in the market though. £15m for Jay Rodriguez and £60m plus for VVD.
