I'm old school. You can't beat fanny. Another favourite that hasn't been mentioned is *****.

The problem with missing out on Baldock, Sharp and Rodrigues (all of whom we have bid for, probably) is that it could be perceived that the forward we eventually land is in effect 4th choice.

Colin is a prat. If we have annoyed him, great.

If we don't sign him, the virtual reality suicide rate is going to rocket with SaintsWeb posters.

It might predate the Inbetweeners, but there is no doubt that its widespread use today is down to the programme. Before the programme about the 4 adolescents, clunge was very rarely used. Fanny, Axe-Wound, Beef Curtains or growler were all far more popular, as well as the really special word, c*nt.
-
Have you just been watching The Inbetweeners? I remember a few years ago, after 'The Football Factory', loads of people were using the 'mugged off' phrase. It's amazing the power films have over simpletons.

If the Peel group used its own money for the cruise facility they could have gone for whatever business was up for grabs. Unfortunately for them, they took grants under very strict conditions. Their decision, and tough luck.
-
'The terminal was funded entirely by grants from the European Union and the UK taxpayer. The money was given on the strict condition that it must not operate turnaround cruises, so the terminal couldn’t unfairly take business from private sector competitors. Yet less than two years after it was opened Liverpool Council was applying to have the condition removed. Now, just 18 months after that application was resoundingly rejected, the council is back again with the same request.' Bit of a no-brainer. Totally unfair on Southampton and other ports. Petition signed.

I haven't forgiven Pearce for that Pizza Hut advert.

The chipshops in Woolston are f*cking rank, without exception.
-
Our business does look a bit messy of late, but it's not worth wetting yourselves or slagging anyone off until the window has closed.
-
I reckon Lambert should have got picked as well, and Connolly and Jaidi. Pearce is a f*cking mong.

With the sale of AOC, I must admit, I was hoping for a couple of 'marquee' signings. I live in hope.

No, that was Keith Granger.

Clifford and Woodward was an effort by Rupert Lowe to break the football mould. Clifford, unfortunately, is a bit of a charlatan. His 'Brazilian Soccer Schools' are well marketed, but massively inferior to other youth coaching projects. Our own Keith Granger has a far better scheme with his Football Garage. £300k salary for a kids coach was an absolute joke. No wonder clubs haven't been banging Clifford's door down since he left us. Ridiculous.

But equally, getting Jack Cork early in the window was very smart, as he has been excellent so far.

Andy, well done on your results and good luck on going for a really worthwhile degree with great career prospects. Much better that than others who do Media Studies, Film Studies etc. and realise their degrees are virtually worthless in the modern world.

Wow, think how much money you could save by not sending serious criminals to jail. The savings in the long run of banging up the feral youth will more than outweigh the cost of keeping them in prison.
-
They should work for at least 8 of those 23 hours.
-
Some people will continue to look for criminal ways to make money because they don't want to work. So while they are habitual criminals, nothing will change them. Make them graft in prison. Others are 'institutionalised' to prison life and have low self-worth. Make them graft in prison, it might give them more confidence and self-esteem. I believe prison should be looked on as a punishment first. Rehabilitation should be the job of the parole service.
-
I think their sentences are fair enough, and I'm not a right-wing loon. I'm not even right-wing. I think that comparitively, their sentences look harsh, but I think paedos and rapists should get at least 25 years.
-
I know one or two that have done time, and I also know a couple of prison officers. I haven't any first hand experience of these institutions, but my opinions are based on theirs. I wouldn't argue about rehabilitation, but it means that the prisoner wants to rehabilitate. There are schemes for them in place, but the success of them are quite low. So, make prison a deterrent. Make it hard work. It may make the repeat offenders actually want to rehabilitate.
-
I think you're the naive one.
-
Might I suggest then, that prison life should become more spartan and less of a burden on the Chancellor's wallet.
-
It's judges giving out the sentences, they give punishments as they see fit. I have zero sympathy for any of the pondlife getting sent down. One of our society's problem's is that that people aren't scared of the law because of the pathetic punishments that have been handed out. This is a step in the right direction in stamping out the scum in our society.
