Can’t knock him for the last half a dozen games really. Apart from the triple subs v Rotherham he’s done ok. I was one of his fiercest critics early doors. We still occasionally slip into propaganda football, mostly in the first 20 minutes of the second half of any game. I would like to think this frustrates the manager as much as it does me.

Excellent first half performance. Really frustrating that we dropped off a bit in the second half though. Was a bit uncomfortable for a while. Subs give us a bit of energy. Stu and Sulemana looked dead on their feet. Some really good performances though, too many to mention. Charles did well for our third actually playing on the half turn and advancing the ball. I think he is going to be a decent player.

Played well today. Deserves to keep his place.

I am more interested in some stale bread in my cupboard than pre-match press conferences. Some people have got too much time on their hands.

Thought we were much the better side. I really like Shea Charles in midfield. Downes was good today. Subs worked well. Think Stu was knackered. Love that the team really went for it in the last 15. We are so much better when we drop the walking football.

Football is a simple game made difficult by idiots. I would have my wide players on the touch lines creating more space across the pitch.

Law of averages. How many goals does it lead to - not many. How many times do we concede when we give it away In dangerous areas - quite often. There are other ways of attacking.

Saints performances aside, my original point is that possession football is really boring. A lot of sides out there are trying to copy Guardiola. Personally, I can’t see the point of putting your goalkeeper or defenders under pressure by needlessly passing to them. I don’t see the point of judging keepers on how good they are with their feet, and not how commanding they are, or, God forbid, how good they are at stopping shots. If possession football becomes the standard, I’ll switch the tv off. It took all my powers of patience to watch the Arsenal game on Sunday, and it was being billed as the game of the season. It is so fucking tedious and boring.

To be fair to Martin, he was fuming with Che for giving them the ball back. He has specifically told the team not to give the opposition the ball back in any circumstances. Che is a fucking onion.
