I had been looking forward to this as an end of season fixture hoping we'd be safe, and the prospect of a warm reception and 'thank you' to Billy Sharp. As it is, just hope we can win the race for 11th, and go into the next season having won at home once more. Would also be good to see Ferry or Jancewitz getting on the pitch as well.

He's worth every penny of the £35m you or Spurs want to splash out on him, honest ! I think most of the replies you've had have been quite well balanced, despite some of the earlier comments on the thread. For me, he's not as bad as some of his critics have made out (stats prove otherwise re his tackling etc), although he's not as good as he thinks he is with talk of CL football at this stage of his career. Positives are that he covers a lot of ground, is a decent tackler and ballwinner, but negatives are that this is often followed up by a misplaced pass, or losing possession too easily. I think Gueye , from what I saw and read of him, had more about him to be honest. PEH isn't a patch of the Schneiderlin who left us, or Wanyama for that matter although covers more ground than VW used to. (Not judging the Schneiderlin at Everton as he seemed to have lost his way with you reading an Everton forum). He does seem a decent bloke, and interviews very well This probably gives him a bit of protection from more flak from the crowd when the pass goes astray. Although it hasn't descended to the badge kissing antics he does a good line in clenched fists and applauding the crowd, as did Lallana, and we know how that ended. All reports suggest he is hankering after a move to spurs, probably more ££, and London life the attraction. Shame as he might go up a gear under Pep, or Ancelloti, but if he goes to Spurs then better have a sweepstake on when Mourinho publicly blames him for a stray pass and falls out with him. Any suggestions as to any player that might come our way as part of the deal, Jonjoe Kenny mentioned somewhere but pure speculation.

Was said tongue in cheek chaps, not seriously suggesting anything untoward in the comaprisons, although persoanlly I think Clyne was far ahead in his ability and what he offered when he joined us.

I'm with you Woodsaint, not convinced by a few appearances at the end of the season at all. Had his scuffed clearance v City lead to an equaliser I think the response on here might be different. The Clyne comparisons are perhaps inevitable, although possibly just ' racial profiling' to use a phrase being bandied about at the moment. For me the comparison doesn't fully stack up though, Clyne had played over 100 matches for Palace including some performances that took the eye in the League Cup, (Old Trafford for one) and was to some extent established, KWP -according to Wikipedia - has played c 12 games for Spurs (probably an underestimate, I've read a figure of 20 something elsewhere, but point being at 22 he's pretty raw still). Although of similar build Clyne seemed to have much more strength and wasn't easily brushed off the ball.

This is a full Danish international you're talking of, against a bloke of 23 with what 20-30 Premiership starts to his name ? It depends entirely on the £m coming our way, and what the "weighting" is in the valuation put on KWP. But "absolute win", I doubt it. I'm not convinced that KWP is a £10m player on the strength of some reasonable - but not spectacular -displays to date. We seem to have a history of allowing the norf London yobbo's to sell us short, don't be surprised if it happens again.

Would prefer Zeefuik for the suggested £4-5m. he would appear to offer a bit more strength and speed than KWP.

I'm with you on this. Ideally would like to win both, but if we are to lose one would rather Bournemouth benefit from it and stay up in order to play them next season. I don't subscribe to the "we" send them down, they've managed to do that themselves by some inept displays over the previous 20 odd games before their Leicester game. Double joy if West Ham go down.

At what stage do we have to fret over whether or not we can obtain a work permit ? Could we have been dealing with this behind the scenes over the last week prior to an announcement, or can we only apply once he has signed ?

I wouldn't mention Obafemi in comparison to either. Ted MacDougall was a goalscorer throughout his career, MLT could give the impression of being casual at times but had sublime skills that very few players come near.

Probably another summer of spending big to then underachieve again next season.
