At what stage do we have to fret over whether or not we can obtain a work permit ? Could we have been dealing with this behind the scenes over the last week prior to an announcement, or can we only apply once he has signed ?

I wouldn't mention Obafemi in comparison to either. Ted MacDougall was a goalscorer throughout his career, MLT could give the impression of being casual at times but had sublime skills that very few players come near.

Probably another summer of spending big to then underachieve again next season.

Burnley, unattractive to watch but very effective as ever.

Think they can still get 101.

Random Ex- Academy Player Transfer News no-one will care about...
Badger replied to The9's topic in The Saints
Saw Brett Angel and one of his brothers play for Cheltenham in the 90's. Brett looked a good prospect at one point, his brother though spent most of one game goading the opposition supporters (in the Conference !). Wasn't Hungerford also the starting point in Charlie Austin's meteoric rise to becoming an internet sensation ? -
League One player don't forget.

I'd also like Bournemouth to stay up, but stayiing up at West Ham's expense and them losing would be even better. Can't see West Ham going down though; the six points we've gifted them this season are critical.

Sad news - Big Jack was one of the iconic football figures as I got into it in the 60's/70's. Although revered for his heroics with England I couldn't really take to him as a player at club level, playing for the niggly 'Dirty Leeds' team of that era (the 7-0 didn't help either) but two recollections of him at The Dell stand out. First was Channon gliding past him with ease in about 1972 (when Leeds were at their prime,)leaving 'Big Jack' sprawled on his arse, whole crowd roared, final proof -if needed - that Channon was a special talent. No one did that to the likes of 'Big Jack'. ' Secondly was his last league game for Leeds, April 1973, although I was still young I was struck by the warm applause he received from the Saints fans when he went off injured, it drove home that we were saying goodbye to one of the great figures of the game.

Fair point Vectis, I asked for that and should have worded it diferently, point being the kits didn't clash and there was no need to change.

Wasn't Zeefuik meant to be c £4m ? He does seem to have a bit more strength, aggression and speed to his game than KWP. Dusic also raises an interesting point re spurs and how long Levy will back Mourinho's judgement so don't think this deal is a foregone conclusion.

Redmond is frustrating to watch sometimes and he often seems to do a 'headless chicken' running into blind alleys. That said we're a better team when he plays than when he doesn't so I'm not going to critiscise him for a couple of below par displays since the re-start. Despite his talent Boufal doesn't do it often enough, and is frquently unavailable with injury, just hope Djenpo isn't going to go the same way.

Going off on a slight tangent, but why did we wear the change kit yesterday ? Perhaps the third strip will get a few airrings next season irrespective of it being 'needed'.
-
Don't panic there's still the CB from Millwall or Bristol Rovers.
-
JWP had a nice little dig at Richarlison that went unnoticed first half.
-
Thought Stephens got a bit close to the pushing and shoving after the Richarlison incident. Could be a further flashpoint between those two second half.
-
So how long will they give Jackett ? I think he'll be out pretty soon. Just hope they don't try and appoint Adkins.

Everton, who along with spurs are among the most detestable clubs going (cranked up by the Adrian Heath moment in 1984, and then the Koeman episode (and all the 'dug out' bollocks that came out of it). Utd aren't far behind (and of course the other scousers), but beating them would be nicer when we have supporters present to witness it and see the disappointment of the daytrippers at Old Trafford .

Our most improved player over the season, and certainly since Christmas. Questions though :i -whether he can maintain the form over a full(next)season if given the opportunity - what is our most likely CB pairing next season, with us looking to sign a left sided CB (Salisu), will it be Stephens or Bednarek alongside him as first choice, or S/B continuing and the new bloke biding his time and back up ?

Had a look at a Spurs forum to see anything about KWP and his progress. Interesting read about Poch and some looking to dispel the myth about him bringing through young players:

Much improved as is the Draper Tools version.
