Is a visit to Fratton any “reward”?
-
Have to wonder where and how he was dredged up after years out of the game. Can’t remember when he was last managing or involved anywhere.

This is the era of Spor(t)s Republic. I think the line for this should be: Two weeks of dither and dally before the Valley.

Any relation to Danny N'guessing ?
-
Didn’t we lose that match ? I think Adkins may have been on the touchline, but the team and preparation had been by Dean Wilkins
-
Always thought this appropriate: Spors, Rasmus etc chasing each other round the centre circle

Are English Heritage or Southampton Civic Society aware of this ? If ever a bridge was worthy of a blue plaque then this is it.

Some good research, and fine that his short career to date has some relative success to it, and that in time he might make a good manager/head coach. But question is whether he’s ready for the step up in a toxic club atmosphere. Doubt it myself, and not selecting him now is probably in his best interest long term. And ours.

I think the Brighton manager also had a promotion from Bundesliga2 on his CV with St Pauli.
-
And the German bloke, Herr Eckert
-
Sounds our sort of player.

Bloody ridiculous comment, and quite insensitive. I’m not a fan of the bloke by any means, but that’s a stretch too far.
-
I thought he’d left on a free rather than going there on loan. Pretty sure there was a comment that we’d agreed a hefty sell on %.
-
I don’t think it’s a matter of righting off his coaching potential, he may indeed be a good prospect. The issue is whether such an inexperienced coach is right for us now.
-
I thought he’d already let it be known he was returning to the UK and that had been accepted by his club. You may well be right. If we actually had to negotiate with his club, and pay compensation then the decision becomes even more ridiculous.
-
Did they though ? SR could have dispensed with Ralph at the end of the previous season. The biggest failing was the transfer window summer 2022 and not signing a striker. Wasn’t that under Semmens watch ?
-
Possibly how we ended up with Still who happened to be conveniently available.
-
Is he popular anywhere ? Apart from the Pinder house, and anywhere you find an assortment of vegans, greens, and lefties in Brighton.
-
From the outside, he appears to be doing a good job. And will go on to bigger and better things. But ‘no’, it won’t be with us.

Well after getting a point away at St Mary’s in their biggest game in the history of football across the universe, it’s not surprising. Everything after is an anti-climax

Svennson is an interesting one as he was talked about as a next big thing, with comparisons being made with Tuchel and Klopp who started at the same club. Didn’t live up to it when he moved on. Don’t know enough about his style of play, but not so long ago name was cropping up and linked with Palace, Forest and EPL jobs. Solskjaer - didn’t he fail at Cardiff ?
-
I always thought that would be his destination although up until recently it seemed Mousinho was keeping them happy.

Thanks for posting the snippets. Intrigued by the last comment -perhaps reading too much into it - but reference to an ex premier league player, no mention of previous management ?? Germany - immediately think of the bigger known names ( Rose, Terzic, Ralph, even Low) but seem unrealistic so likely to be a mid range manager we’ve not heard much or anything of. Adolf Hutter an interesting one for the headlines (no wonder he’s known as Adi).

IF they appoint Eckert, wonder if they’ll bring in an experienced assistant to help him. This was Trollopes role for Still. Read on here that one of Ralph’s former assistants had been seen locally recently (Name similar to Richard Bitchkicker).

Last I read was that he was in thin ice. Saw his name linked with Middlesbrough. He was one those trendy managers a couple of years ago, but not sure what the attraction is from what I saw of WBA especially over the playoffs (just remember this animated bloke on the touchline). Skinny jeans and beard so could be somewhere on the Rasmus spectrum.
