  1. … and the fans being responsible for cheering when Lumley goes long … and how that contributed to the four goals we concede
  2. Yes, but Fred wouldn’t be up to the job without Rose. She was the tactician, apparently.
  3. Don’t forget Wolves will have the pick of Portugal to select from, and whoever is on their pet agents books.
  4. Good Gloucester bloke, apparently. (Based on a studio talk show where a neighbour said he used to see him in the street, and they’d say hello, “well, I thought he were an alright bloke …” to much studio laughter) . I’m sure Gloucester Saint will know the area, and likely accent it was said in.
  5. Eustace is a strange one, he seems to have a good reputation for (?), …. having a good reputation. Don’t think he’s achieved much, and when his name was first mentioned with us I was surprised to see he wasn’t that experienced. His ridiculous sacking at Birmingham seems to have enhanced his standing disproportionately.
  6. They are at least putting up a fight. As are Wolves perhaps in a different way, which again is quite a contrast to how we seem resigned to defeat, and meekly accept it.
  7. I think he was popular and retained the support at both Swansea, and especially Forest.
  8. We'd have made him look a carthorse, although possibly a better calibre of one than BBD.
  9. They don't though do they ? Even now they and their agents, especiaiily the agents, will be occupied with thoughts of where they can move to for next season.
  10. Problem with the Wolves -Ipswich result is that we get double damage from this, Ipswich get the points, Wolves likely to sack their manager and improve.
  11. Wanking in the bath tub it would seem. If not that, then the square root of fuck all.
  12. Ipswich, like Leicester (against us)with a last minute corner away from home. Some managers encourage attacking play near the opposition goal.Daft bastards. It will never catch on.
  13. ??? Have I missed something or are we already stockpiling the insults, just in case he is appointed?

But they’re getting close to an agreement. Possibly two weeks away from him signing it.
  15. wonder how ‘good’ we could have been had he had that extra couple of weeks with them.

We can condemn agents all we like ( and most would agree). But surely if the player as client says I want to stay at Saints (or any other club) then that’s the end of the matter and his agent shouldn’t be hawking him around. They will of course be saying look the best I can get there is £x, and a move to wherever is £y, but the focus should be the deal with the preferred club. Seems tail trying to wag the dog. Players should have the gumption to tell the agent to fuck off if they’re not listening. (Totally agree with you about the WC).
  17. The more obscure, the better it seems. Do City Group have a French club ? If they do then SR can probably identify an assistant, youth team, or girls coach to appoint at Valenciennes. As for the break it didn’t go so well with Jones and his six weeks.

Possibly an indication as to why there’s a reluctance to see a shirt with stripes on the back. Looks tacky, and lower division in my view. But could be worse (TY Beanies springs to mind …)
  19. Or in our case, “ please buy a striker “* * a real one, proven to score goals, not one of the Sheffield Utd dream team, or a cripple
  20. As scuffed shots go, that was pretty impressive

Can that be possible, for the agent to obstruct it if he wants to stay at Saints. Of course it isn’t in the agents interest for him to remain here, and understandably he’ll be researching other options, but if TD wants to stay that should be the end of it. On the other hand RM’s summary of contract talks may be as reliable as his injury updates on Ross Stewart.
  22. No, and I don’t think House of Fun had even been recorded then, this was after their second album, Baggy Trousers etc.
  23. Perhaps it’s the duffle coat he wears. But does have that look about him. Best summary of Potter I read on here was someone describing him as looking like a U-boat captain. Can’t recall who but good work whoever. Having said that, yes be pleasantly surprised for him and his duffle coat to take the managers dug out at St Mary’s. Won’t happen of course.
  24. Comes to something where we can’t even sing “we’re the shittest team in Hampshire “ after how we’ve been playing.
  25. 3-0 down after 30 minutes. Good start to the weekend, so far. But I think Derby are a bit vulnerable as well, so just hope this isn’t the game where they implode
