Danny Rohl might be a decent option next season as he’ll have had 18months experience in the Championship by then. Although we might accept relegation is inevitable and emphasise the ‘building for next season’ is it fair to pitch Rohl or another (relatively inexperienced) manager into the rest of our calamitous season, and would it knock their confidence too much for next ?

Probably isn’t 90% of the fanbase so much as 90% of the Internet forums. It may change but at the moment the natives have yet to really stir (as we did with Branfoot and Lowe many years ago).

I don’t know much about Ashworth, but in previous roles it appears he’s had a fairly free hand (which might be his downfall at Man Utd with all the egos there). Questionable how that might align with SR and Rasmus. align - there’s a 2023 Saints buzzword for you
-
Wasn’t that due to a link with Matt Crocker though ?
-
Are they though ? I think this goes under the radar of national media, and is glossed over by the local press( Who should make it more of an issue in my view). RM is a lot more measured in his delivery than Nathan Jones who of course went into public meltdown mode after the Brentford game. The press couldn’t miss that.

Do they like the results from his work as well, or is that irrelevant?
-
Sadly that is the case. Just have to question the wisdom of extending his contract. Accept the point that some have previously made that it might possibly been triggered by promotion but really it seems a bloody stupid move and sums up the ineptitude of those running the club.

Simple solution: bugger off then …

Said to my son, this used to be Saints many years ago, flowing football and free scoring. Usually entertaining, even in defeat. Sadly not in his lifetime.

BBC - currently 54% possession. Russ is a genius. Surprised more people can’t see it.

Today, or this season ?

Be careful. Easy to mistake one for the other.

Always live in hope.

Morale boosting defeat if ever there was. Especially if we’ve managed to go ‘toe to toe’ with Villa. Even if only for the first ten minutes.
-
This is something previously alluded to, but nothing further. Care to elaborate?
-
Are our fanbase up to this now though ?

Or the pass, and pass it back again, range. Ad strapline - the hair care product so good it seldom leaves the bathroom cabinet…

Interesting that Alfie House should run an article on Danny Rohl, a bloke who was RH’s assistant for half a season. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/24774266.valery-claims-rohl-one-making-decisions-southampton/ Purely by chance of course, nothing in it, the timing of it, or the thinking behind it.

Despite our predicament I wouldn’t want us to run our club publicly, like a soap opera. Leave that to West Ham. Just wish I could be a bit more confident that things were being discussed “behind closed doors”.
-
Wasn’t it Semmens who said results didn’t matter ? Thought we’d got over that sort of bollocks when he left but Rasmus &Co have taken it to another level. It seems the Semmens philosophy - and the cretins in charge do like a philosophy- is flourishing whilst results fall apart.

In a nutshell. Poor recruitment was Ralph's undoing in my view, and it hasn't helped Lego either, although he manages to compound it by his insistence on pissing around at the back, selections, and it seems a lack of fitness among the squad. I'm all for changing the manager, but to reap any real benefits the club has to get its recruitment right.

A new one every day...

Taken from the BBC site RM is quoted as saying: Now it might have been taken out of context in that he was talking of the early stages of the match, but otherwise he's clearly deluded and can't really expect others to believe it was a good match, and toe to toe.
-
I think you might be overplaying the 'connection' with the club' to be honest, and we don't really know how the relationship here really ended. As a longer term option rather than 'quick fix' , I agree with you, but would see that kind of appointment more likely at the end of season rather than now.

Doubt it will hit Rasmus too hard or affect his glittering career. Rasmus strikes me as one of those cunts who are Teflon coated no matter what (I'm sure we've all encountered them in our working lives). If we were doing well he'd be at the forefront taking the praise but disappears when it goes tits up. We're frequently reminded of his 'wider role', and of course how well Goztepe are doing.
