  1. Will Andrew Lloyd Webber be sitting with the home fans or in the away section today? Agree it should be a home "banker", but we all know how they turn out.Much depends on our own belief. If Saints seriously believe we can make the play offs then I'd expect us to overrun Orient and win convincingly,3-0 minimum.

    The pink

If and when in Southampton, I still ask for and buy a "Football Echo".I missed out on the transition and it remains a "Football Echo" as far as I'm concerned. No idea when or why some spastic, presumably in the marketing department, decided to call it 'the pink',or what they hoped to achieve by it.I do not recall ever hearing it referred to as the pink,or 'pink 'un' as suggested.

  5. I detest Gary Neville and do not want to see him in a Saints shirt.

  7. Do you expect Carlton or Leeds to be willing to let them go and will they not be looking to move up from L1 if they do leave their current clubs? Austin, would he get the nod over Barnard to play alongside Lambert or be an expensive bench warmer limiting his progress into the bargain? Again he might be looking above L1 if he leaves Swindon(assuming they aren't in the CCC already).
  8. Signed by Luggy for Swindon by the way. Not that I want to reopen the debate about Luggy as a manager or his limited time with us
  9. I have no doubt that other clubs will falter and drop points, but its our inability to pick up the points we should - eg Tranmere,Wycombe etc - and take advantage that will dictate where we finnish. Despite AP's comments regarding "bossing the game" at Brighton, the general concensus on here from those who attended appears to be that we did not play well.

  13. Must be difficult retiring having earnt far more in a limited career than most earn in a lifetime. The prospect of retiring in a state of financial security - let alone at such a young age - is not one I can easily contemplate, but if push came to shove I reckon I might be able to cope with the pressure it brings. That said,I can understand that he may feel like a 'spare limb' after his playing days come to an end. Go along with that.
  14. You may be right about Leeds next season, and the loss of key players from the current squad. However a club of their stature will always be able to attract good players for the division we are in.
  15. My recollection as well. (By the way, your reply was to Window Cleaner and the comments in the quote were his rather mine!)
  16. Except for his distinctly average time at Sheffield Wednesday, and his time as the nearly man at Bristol City, and wilderness year or so at Hartlepool. No,on balance I'd take Pardew.
  17. Time will tell. The same was no doubt once said of Tony Funnell in Saints promotion season (likened to Gerd Muller at one stage,I kid you not) and Trevor Senior at Reading.
  18. Was it Stuart Dennis? I wondered what he did when there was no Saints game on.
