C'mon saints!

COYR! Just hang on until half time.

In the season he joined us,yes. The following season however -our 'great escape' season - he along with Hughes were largely responsible for completely upsetting any team spirit which caused one of our most disastrous starts ever. Only after he had been shipped out did things improve (IIRC).

Okay,I am aware of rumours/issues/allegations* surrounding him but you have to acknowledge he did bring a few quality youngsters through to the club. The Wallace's are prime example, and was he not also involved in the London set up that saw Williams,Hayes,Chicken George,Steve Neville etc coming to The Dell ? *were any of these rumours ever substantiated though?

He appears to have a very impressive CV from reading the OS having coached at a high level and highly regarded in the football world for taking on a development role. Not too sure about the OS statement crediting him with the likes of Rio F Defoe, and Joe Coles development whilst at the FA as most of the credit for that is surely attributable to their clubs.(The OS also brush over his time at Charlton although as said about Gray and Wigley before on here, they can't be blamed for the boards promoting them out of their depth). Looked on Wikipedia to see "Leslie Thelonius Reed (born 12 December 1952 in Wapping, London)..." Can't remember a Thelonius at the club before. Disagree with you.Presumably many might have said Georges Prost was a waste of money. I accept that the Sports Medicine and Eqiupment Procurement areas have a bit of SCW stamped over them but as for the other roles we do need someone to direct it.To some extent the academy seems to have lost its way since Prost left. Dodd ? & Co ? No real track record to rely on. The scouting network here is more likely to be in the recruitment role for academy rather than first team players. Not written by Dave Merrington was it ? DM was of course an excellent youth - now called academy coach - although benefitted from a good scouting network ie Bob Higgins, and(Jack Hickson,I think), the geordie who brought Shearer and Maddison down, and another in Wiltshire whose name escapes me.

Mark Hughes falls into a small category of players who I detested before they arrived, did not want to see them sign and their time with us did nothing to endear them to me,as they seemed only interested in a payday with no real feeling for the club or the fans. Speedie,Dixon,Peter Reid and Sammy Lee are the others I can fit into that category from recollection.Oh,and perhaps Carlton Palmer. God forbid that Gary Neville or Paul Scholes could ever come near to joining them.

Surprised Groves remembers anything of his time with us,didn't think he was sober long enough.

Incey-Wincey has realised he is not up to the job,and furthermore -despite being 'the Guv'nor'- does not have the qualities to lead without big money to back him up. A charlatan as a player - who wanted to be seen as the Guv'nor on the pitch, but went missing when needed - and a bigger charlatan as manager.

Well spotted, the typical simpering Liberal approach of being all things for all men, knowing they will never have to put them into practice. No wonder that nice Mr Clegg is so popular,he follows a long and famous tradition of liberals(and the SDP) of trying to keep politics out of politics. Somehow you can't see the Liberals enforcing a policy which restricts migrants to stay within permitted areas to work.

Congratulations on scooping the jackpot... ..a £5.00 voucher to spend at an antique bookshop in Petersfield.

That though remains their mantra and line, "vote for us because we are not one of the other parties".Apart from that, nothing to offer.

Why not compromise, lets call it 'Spot the bell'.

This would probably be a big mistake if AP went to Celtic, but a decision is likely to be governed by huge £on offer, and ego in believing how he can raise this "giant" etc...rather than asking how far it has taken WGS and Mowbray in furthening their careers. There was an interview with AP in October/November where he admitted to being attracted to managing "overseas",I would have thought he wanted somewhere a little more exciting and warmer than Scotland.

If I were them - promotion or not -I'd just be counting the weeks, days before Lee Clark is linked with, and leaves for the inevitable job at Newcastle. Joking aside Grant might infact meet their criteria, champions league final experience etc.

Who gives a monkeys as to the thoughts of some knobend posters on the Brighton & HIV Albion site ?

Do you mean in Dubai,or is he more seriously minted than any of us ever imagined? That is absolotuley none of our f^cking business, unless he wishes to make the matter public, and as he is very much a 'private person' it appears he does not. I realise your interest in our saviour is well intentioned Dune, and we'd all be interested in learning more but lets respect the dignified way he has conducted affairs at SFC,and in return respect his right to some privacy. Thought GoogleEarth showed a tennis court and swimming pool.Probably an outhouse to whip the servants in as well.

I didn't realise Oz was still doing cartoons at this time. Didn't he characterise the old Saint figure in cassock carrying a staff, in the 50's or 60's ?
