  1. Can't imagine anyone asking for "a pint of Rupert's please".Especially any Saints fan.
  2. Surprised no one has suggested Tommy Widdrington or Nick Holmes as they are routinely touted whenever the Saints job is available. Of the original list only Redknapp is a possible contender as the FA would not go back to a manager with a proven record of not coming up with the goods at international level.England have never gone the route of just appointing a key player without managerial experience so that rules out Shearer (or Beckham).
  3. That wasn't asking a lot was it ?
  4. Agree totally with your entire post. Rooney's refusal to sing the national anthem is in my view a disgrace. He should have chosen to play for Republic of Ireland as his brother has stated his ambition is to given the chance but no doubt the ££signs are too lucrative with England. They are a bunch of c^nts indeed.
  5. Yep.You and I for the centre of defence.
  6. I felt the "language barrier" was just used as a bit of a shield in his post match interview on BBC today. Totally agree with your last point, good individuals - who are largely in it as individuals and egos - rather than a team.
  7. It occurred to me earlier that perhaps Harry might not be too keen on a job away from club management as he enjoys the 'day to day' involvement, and of course the transfer activity side of things at club level. But do you think Harry's squad selection could in anyway be influenced by agents (of players) with whom he has previously established a rapport? Doubt The FA will go the Harry route with the issues hanging over him though.
  8. Certainly true in Sven's case.
  9. Interesting point but the Premership remains the promised land all clubs aspire to. It may seem a holy grail yet in truth,as you point out,it might be more of a poisoned chalice. Looking forward to an honest promotion push next season.
  10. Gone by Wednesday (hope).
  11. So does no one have even a rumour from a Sunday tabloid to share ?
  12. How many tournaments is it now that Lumplard has failed to perform for England ? I think this might be his third after 2006 and Euro 2004.It seems a bit to familiar now seeing him playing as a shadow of how he does for Chelsea.
  13. Agree with the bit in bold, the German players are far more disciplined in their approach and better prepared mentally than our prima donnas. On the evidence served up so far the Germans should win,but its now a cup tie and the Germans are not invincible as Serbia proved so heres hoping...
  14. discharge
  15. Wasn't he asked to step down or was voted off the council for non-attendance?
  16. flange
  17. I used to go to a pub near Wokingham/Henley called The Ferret Inn where they brewed their own before micro-breweries became fashionable. I can't recall the names of the beers but they also made 'The Ferret Inn Cider'.
  18. If they did nothing else, their late winner against Algeria managed to bugger our prospects of an easier route to the semi-finals. And they did beat Algeria.
  19. I would be amazed if that was so.
  20. I remember him returning to The Dell with Hereford, unbelievable and emotional reception given to him.
  21. Laughable comments given his record of promotion and progress at Leicester but I wonder how these comments differ from the reaction on Saints Forever/Forum at the time Pearson was first announced to be coming to us.
  22. Perhaps because we have not reached the "decent level" yet ?
  23. I think Paine started in the first two matches before Ramsey went for his wingless system.
