  1. Just been browsing an Exeter City forum and found the following snippets : This was posted on 12th March: A more recent post indicates that Flybe have had a bit of a huff with Exeter regarding a press story which indicates they are a bit sensitive to not being kept fully appraised of all things :
  2. Always thought Ince had an uncanny resemblance to Kid Creole
  3. On the subject of Jim Ratcliffe: So he's not interested in football then ?
  4. I think the idea is that the brothers are actually of the same local/ethnic origin as opposed to one being Iranian and the other Israeli On reading this suggestion yesterday I posted a possible identity for this mysterious consortium as the Reuben brothers.Pretty sure their name had come up on one of the -many- takeover threads. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_and_Simon_Reuben Should we not make this thread a sticky btw ? In a sort of TCDAGTFU type of way ? ie "They could do a good takeover for us" in case anyone is wondering

    Souness

He is knowlegable and talks a good game.I'd take issue with the last part of your summary though. One point re Souness though wasn't he in tandem with the scouser Morgan to fund things ? If so that avenue will be closed as Morgan bought Wolves. There was also once mention of Souness/Kennedy (?),the latter also involved at Sale Sharks. To put the Mail article in context they also mention Merrington's consortium which is probably the Fulthorpe thing. So how up to date could that be ? Seems the Mail may have gone back to their archives to see who might still be floating around.
  6. Have reviewed this, the name I was thinking of which had appeared on a previous thread was David and Simon Reuben Leave it to you all as to how they match the description given to the original poster,or the likelihood of it being plausible: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_and_Simon_Reuben
  7. These brothers have been mentioned on here previously in one of the many 'takeover' threads.Name has escaped me but no doubt it can be resarched.
  8. Ince took over a team assembled by Martin Allen,a fact conveniently overlooked by the 'Guv'nor ' when writing his own CV. Wrong, it was the old Second Division (CCC).And one of the key features of the team was having Hoddle the player available to Hoddle the manager.
  9. Would be my first choice too. As well as the above credentials he is manager who has some achievements behind him,and a great deal of potential ahead of him.My understanding is that his success at Team Bath and Exeter has been by building a team with little or no resources.Seems ideal. Question though, would he see Saints in decline as a better option than Exeter who are stll in the ascendency ? We need a stable and trustworthy board to convince him.
  10. Bit of a mystery as I understand he has been attending for some months now, even before Christmas ,so why ? Is he a summariser for a radio station,is he merely an interested onlooker,or is it in hope-or expectation - of a vacancy ?
  11. I'm waiting for someone to post how Fulthorpe shared his latest 'rescue plan' with them whilst in a que to place a bet at Aintree earlier today.
  12. I have been mulling this over since this weeks developments.Wotte, I think we would accept is an improvement on JP. A month or so ago, when Crouch's plans for an experienced English or British manager were first heard of,many thought Dowie might have been an option. As he is now with Shearer he is probably off the list of alternatives available to us. So for the remaining matches, who ? And who is to make such a decision ? Would someone like Cotterill realy make a difference to us for the remainder of the season ?
  13. Surprises me that Crouch is not involved in any way though. I didn't hear this btw, only the SSN interview uploaded by Baj this AM where he said Lowe not involved.Has this interview been given since ?
  14. Actually, that is a good point as I thought Flybe had already committed to continuing the sponsorship.Consequently the club made an announcement earlier in the season that the same home shirt would remain. It is possible though that such sponsorship was conditional on remaining in the CCC.
  15. Probably the best takeover in the world.
  16. Rupert The Share. (Name given to him on arrival by one of the fanzines.) Or Rupert ; From Nutwood to Eternity.
  17. Thought this point a good one about our similarities but contrasting fortunes:
  18. I don't think it can be drawn out given the fact we are not a viable going concern.Things will detriorate even further if we do not have the mess sorted. As I understand it they have a duty to the outstanding creditors to try to obtain a swft resolution but maximise the return for the creditors etc. This would not enable them to dictate the timescale involved.
  19. Who ? Do you mean the Administrators? I have read previously that Barclays had a better working relationship with LC than Lowe.
  20. Was it in the Charlie Sale column ? If not it can't be true.
  21. A good thing for us,especially if we avoid the drop this season because of it. In a wider context it would be a bit of a farce, and a loophole the League would swiftly close. Without doubting what you may have heard,I'm not sure the FA have any say in this.Does it not rest with the Football League to determine ?
  22. ...the appointment of Wigley.
  23. Perhaps the council will withdraw £23m from the account they had deposited it in, with an Icelandic bank. Actually they would not be shelling out £23m but paying the mortgage on it gradually until the mythical buyer arrives. That said it seems too much of a political 'hot potato' to start shelling out at all on a football stadium when other services are under threat.Hope they do though
  24. That is exactly what I'm fearing.Assuming this happens and we remain in CCC this season - even finding a buyer etc - this could be hanging over us for months well into next season, even beyond. Look how long the Tevez case has rumbled on.Admitedly far more at stake.Leeds spent nearly a whole season trying to dispute their deduction. That I'm afraid is typical of Lowe's arrogance to try a smart move not previously considered, and then bluster about it. Lets not forget this is Lowe the visionary, who would not let Hodle join North London yobbo's,brought a rugby coach to football, and then a revolutionary Dutch coaching set up.
