Yes, definitely a class player and a cut above Delgado I agree. But as I recall he was our record signing at the time, so that doesn't really sit comfortably with the bit I've highlighted in your post. I think we signed him in the December, and I'm not sure if we saw him play that season.

From what I’ve read on here, he hasn’t played since January, and might not be available until October. All in all seems a gamble. Has the hallmarks of being up there with the signings of Charlie George and Augustin Delgado. Perhaps it’ll be a return to the David Connolly days, potentially being our best striker bar none if he doesn’t spend time in the treatment room.

Shit in defence though. Always moaning about what's expected of them when it comes to marking.
-
Any likelihood of that ?

Hinting at a comeback??
-
From the YouTube films Miovski appears to offer more, height, and a couple of headed goals. if anyone knows the best option it’ll be Mowbray as I think he recruited both for Aberdeen.
-
Even more of a moronic choice having listened to it. (But it will piss away fans off)
-
Shame. I was hoping after Brendan had done his raids on us for £15m, that Lyanco would go on and be as successful for him as Vestergaard and Bertrand had been.
-
Heads already at St Mary’s.
-
That’ll go down well, improve relationships, and help our negotiations for Wood.

Immediate response is to agree with the OP. Don’t like it, just Americanising the game for no purpose. Have to agree that it’s ‘foam hands’ , crap, really naff, tinpot, and ‘noddy’ even. Taking my miserable old bastard head off for a minute though, three positives: 1)it does seem to be enjoyed by a fair number, young and old in all sections of the ground 2)Vastly better than when they used to play ‘I feel good’ 3)It must really get on the away fan’s tits, standing in silence having seen their team concede to witness the nauseating spectacle. ( For that purpose alone I was quite content with it yesterday thinking how it would wind those gobbier cunts up).

Seems like a ‘The Price is Right’/ ‘Generation Game’ mentality being let loose. “Had we won today, look at these three points we would have won … but instead …”
-
Him and Adam Armstrong. I’m sure a good reception awaits the pair of them
-
Early days but it might be in our interests for West Ham to have a good season and decide they’ve moved on from Flynn Downes in what they need.
-
Was very impressed when he came on yesterday, and that’s coming from a self-confessed miserable old bastard. Possibly not fully match fit. Just a thought.
-
I thought we tried to pigeon hole Tella as a wide player or winger whereas he seemed to have a freer role at Burnley last season. Would still have expected 15 plus goals from him this season though. As said before, good and exciting move for him.
-
I hadn’t factored Sulemana into it only Edozie and SAA from the earlier post. Not sure about Edozie finding goals this season, let’s hope he does. Sulemana agree he could be very useful to us this season if he stays and can be motivated to play in the Championship as he did against Liverpool.

Not on that point I didn’t , it’s in the text that you quoted.
-
I didn’t say he was poor at West Brom: but having had a good spell for WBA 4 years ago ?
-
We’ve had this exchange before, Hypo. You previously posted a link to their forum. I pointed out it was from 2019. Personal choice as to whether that’s recent enough to sway opinion. Fair enough that shows he had some potential and performed well at an earlier stage of his career. Hope that after we give him the platform he takes the chance to fulfill that, four years on.
-
YouTube link he looked useful ( subject to the usual Steve De Ridder clause of course). Scored a couple of decent headers as well. An area we’ve been weak in for some time.
-
Experienced, of being crap and surplus to requirements at a poor Everton, but having had a good spell for WBA 4 years ago ? Remains to be seen. You might be right but I’ve not read anything apart from his age to see him in the role. Like our other CB’s he strikes me as another who might be fine in the Championship but would be improved with a ‘Fonte type’ alongside him organising things.
-
Woid seems a prospect. I’d be happier with a more experienced player to provide some leadership from that position IF Stephens is to be out for any length. (Bednarek doesn’t seem to cut the leader role for me despite his experience).
-
I thought he mentioned his versatility and both positions. Although based on what I’ve read rather than seen/heard.
-
Sums it up for me about him leaving. But although SAA and Edozie may have greater potential longer term for this season, neither ( or both combined) look to offer the same goal threat as Tella might have.
