Scienza doesn’t look that impressive from what I’ve seen or read.
-
After this saga, I’m sure if we do sign him he’ll be every bit as good as Rudi Skacel was
-
No doubt that when it comes to striker options, we’ve got the shits
-
Thanks

Still phrased in terms of “should” and “could” . Nothing new or definite
-
Just noticed no Downs, even on the bench. Any reason given ?
-
Presumably we might see some news - or further clues - on Spertsyan later today from his club following their match.
-
Rhyming slang ?
-
Therein lies the question. Are they likely to offer or come near to what we’re expecting, or will find acceptable?
-
Is this from the same Adam Blackmore who believed the Gakpo signing was virtually a done deal ?
-
Must be the shirt, shorts, socks, and boots that give it away is it Jamie? You thick cunt

How or why Carragher is still employed in the media after that disgusting spitting incident is beyond me. Worse than the Gray/Keys episode in my book.
-
I don’t pretend to fully understand the graphics, as impressive as they appear. But Christ on a bike, it appears he might be outperforming Vinicius Jnr , Haaland and Kvavratshkeila. Wonder how Real, City or PSG have missed him. Better keep this quiet.
-
Wonder what happened to the Spanish player we were linked with, (was it Vicente )? He seemed to be playing at a higher level than Scienza. Scienza doesn’t sound like a €10m player from the little I’ve read or seen
-
Not sure anybody bothered recording “assists” in those days. It seems a modern fascination.* Case’s “assists” weren’t probably the final ball, but winning possession a few passes before that stage, or directing the younger players around him. Which supports your point. * a stat designed for spreadsheet nerds at football.

Must have been well worth it, to get shafted at Bournemouth, and especially 5-0 down at HT home to Spurs.
-
Agree that he could be good for us, and really develop at St Mary’s with some better players around him. Reasonable price though ? With the press reporting what we’re asking for our two key players, I’d be surprised if WBA won’t be seeking £10-12m.
-
Does he attack at speed though ? He was capable of it a couple of seasons ago, although very often he wanted to do the nifty footwork, step overs, and soft shoe shuffle , ie just mincing around. But he seemed capable of more, although end products and shots weren’t great despite a few goals. Agree that his season and form dived after Norwich, and for whatever reason, Martin didn’t seem to trust him afterwards.
-
Thanks. Nothing of note from him then. Trouble is, you can cynically put your own interpretation on it. If he plays well, then he’s clearly playing for a move, but if he’s crap and going through the motions, then he’s already gone (“his head is at St Mary’s”). Alternatively, the third and most likely possibility, he just had an average or poor game.
-
Didn’t see the game, but detect some sarcasm. How did he play ?
-
I don’t doubt that may be the local word, but he’s hardly likely to foghorn the view ‘ I’m waiting for an offer and might piss off ‘. Have to be a bit of a knobhead to do that. * *although I have read that Lallana did exactly that c2009 or 10.

Was Rishi with him ? Perhaps they’re planning a ruck with some of Penny’s mob at the Skates game

Final comment, really feel for those in what was described as the forgotten war. Although many aren’t around for the anniversary, even the events yesterday were far lower key than commemorations for D-Day and VE Day.

My father told me the story in the 1970’s of an old boy he knew who’d been a POW under the Japanese. He was walking along in pissing rain when a friend pulled up, and called him “jump in Frank, I’ll give you a lift” Got in the car and usual conversation over the friends new car, this is nice, what is it? .. oh where do they come from ?”. When told Japan, he immediately threw up, and insisted they stop the car, and he’d walk. Couldn’t stomach the thought of being back in close proximity to something Japanese.

I recall this being captured on the front page of Private Eye, with a picture of a plane landing at Heathrow and the caption “There’s a nasty nip in the air”.
