Good to see we’re preparing our own next generation of hyphens, and double barrelled names. You know prices in that area of the market will increase.
  2. Still wonder if Miovski will feature, given the Mowbray link. On watching some clips of him, he looks useful scoring with both feet, and some headers. The other name that has gone ‘cold’ is Brerton- Diaz, might be useful especially if a loan with an option to buy.
  3. Isn’t that the Semmens policy that helped us being relegated, when they don’t immediately live up to our hopes of them ? Has to be a mixture of the two as far as I’m concerned.
  4. I’m indifferent to signing Delap, on the game I saw at Hull he didn’t display much to write home about (although did score for them). But that’s only one game and reading about him over last couple of seasons he does seem to have something about him, so hopefully our scouting have the full measure of him. Should do, as we’ve been linked for about three seasons now. Worrying though, that reports last summer is that our dickhead recruitment under the Guru Wilcox were reported to be prepared to pay c£20m. Now suggested as available for £10m.
  5. But what’s his Xg rating, and is he in the upper quartile, or better ? Let’s get serious about this ffs.
  6. Interesting possibility. Although it’ll give him good experience in a better league, will it help Saints secure a work permit the following year ?
  7. No great surprise as many clubs have had a pink kit in recent years, we’re just catching up on the trend, and fashion.
  8. Quite by chance, this is how your post first appeared to me on my phone (with ads showing);
  9. 6’4” according to Wikipedia. The South Korean Peter Crouch. Wouldn’t a work permit be a problem though ?
  10. Wok do you mean ?
  11. I don’t think our supporters demand a ‘top keeper, blah, blah’ , but most would expect and like to see one that is competent for the level we play at. That doesn’t seem unreasonable, but it’s an area the club have failed to adequately address for a number of seasons.
  12. Why not ? He played for them before Swansea, and it’s closer to his Essex roots.
  13. Taylor was unfortunate in losing Gascoigne for a large part of his time in charge (although did drop him at one point as well). But seeing those names it really was an era of journeymen playing, despite MLT being available.
  14. Not sure how prudent it is extending the contract* of a manager unproven at this level. Same might have been said about the second contract extension agreed with Forster, in ‘protecting the value of our asset’. *(not that we know the terms of it of course)
  15. Agree, might be a bit premature for a new contract as we might need to consider a change after 10 games or so. I’d have preferred the review at some point before Christmas, possibly October international break. Strangely though I’ve a hunch RM might do quite well and attract a fair bit of praise (from the media anyway) at this level.
  16. Wasn’t that the great England era with Geoff Thomas in midfield as well ?
  17. Better than Graham Taylor’s England who didn’t make it to a USA World Cup.
  18. Headline : Bree-turn of the Prodigal Son.
  19. Had to do a double take on that, thought it said Atletico Madrid !
  20. Hope they pick up at Chievely for us ‘out of towners’.
  21. The Peterborough LB is meant to be quite decent as well. Probably not a target for EPL but questionable if any worse than what we’ll have next season out of Manning & Bree if that’s what we’re left with.
  22. Could this be a three way contest ? Perhaps it’s the Mara Trophy, and the team finishing bottom has him - and pays his wages - for the season ahead.
  23. Not signing a decent GK for the season ahead (as opposed to one mainly for the future) will be on par with not signing a striker for Ralph in 2022 in terms of the club’s failure.
  24. Plain white back will ruin it in my book. Not difficult surely.
